We love the sun, beach, fun, outdoors, wildlife whether in the Gulf, flying above it or crawling around it. Ft. Myers Beach is easy to access from away, you can completely relax and never have to leave the island, people are friendly and it is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Relaxing, unwinding, turning off the fast paced everyday life. We love to kayak, run or walk on the beach, bike ride, golf and play tennis. Friends enjoy the jet skis and parasailing as well. Everyone enjoys watching the new sport of kite boarding & wind surfing. All of these activities are followed up by reading a good book on the beach, taking a nap in the warm sunshine, drinking coffee on the lanai and enjoying company of friends both old & new. The best thing is taking time to enjoy one another.
Wonderful 2 weeks here-
Everything so pleasant and cozy. Really felt like home in paradise. Weather great! Thanks for having all of the conveniences we needed for a marvleous vacation.
Great family house.
We had a great time here the cottage was clean and comfortable it also had everything we needed . It is close to the beach within walking distance to the store. Our grandson Alex and his friend Brian had a great time fishing Dow at the pier. We will defenetly come back.

We recently spent two weeks in this Gulf Island Drive cottage. Let me say first that the location is wonderful. Gulf Island Drive is a very well kept, quiet street. At the far end of the block is an area diectly on the bay with boat slips and a great place for fishing. The beach access is about four houses down and across Estero Blvd. There is a private beach entrance for the Gulf Island Drive houses with a gazebo where you can sit and enjoy the ocean. The beach is just steps away from that. The cottage itself was very comfortable and the newly remodeled bathrooms were definitely an added plus. The walk-in shower was great! The house was clean and very welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and it did not take long to fall asleep! The kitchen is just big enough to cook a few meals if you want, and well equiped. If you bring your dog, there is a great back yard. You can also take a walk down to the beach gazebo or to the bay. Ft. Myers Beach is very dog friendly and our dog Gracie loved those beach walks as did we. Publix is just a short distance away. This area of the beach is more peaceful than the Times Square area which is much more crowded. I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a great beach cottage in a good location, clean, comfortable and pet friendly. We definitely enjoyed our stay. :)
My husband and I and our two dogs stayed at this lovely little beach house over Christmas and had a wonderful time. I don't understand the most recent, very negative, review. I can't believe that reviewer stayed at the same house as I did. We found the house to be spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The bathrooms have been recently renovated and are very nice, especially the ensuite. The kitchen is a little dated, but extremely clean and well equipped with everything you'd need. The lanai adds a lot of extra living space. Everything was in working order. And the beach is very close, I didn't need instructions to get there or to figure out it was a public beach for all to use.
I had two small complaints, too small to change my five-star rating. One was the wifi, which was weak and spotty. The other was the 2nd tv in the bedroom, which didn't have a cable box and wasn't usable. I wouldn't have missed it if it wasn't there, but it was odd to be sitting on the dresser with no cable.
But overall a clean, charming little house in a great location. I would have loved to come back this year, but we left it too late to book and it was already booked over Christmas! I hope the place we picked this year is just as nice,
After reading the wonderful reviews of this rental we had high expectations for our stay, unfortunately we were very much disappointed. The house is cute and cozy, with newer looking furnishings and bedding. Gulf Island Dr. is a quiet, well maintained street with a great private beach access (we had to obtain information regarding this beach access from a neighbor as there was no information provided on where it was or if there were rules for using it). When we entered the property on a very hot Friday afternoon, it was dirty. The floors were dirty, the ceiling fans were dirty and dusty, one of the bathrooms had a dirty toilet seat and the kitchen was in awful shape. The refrigerator appeared very old and when I opened it to put away the groceries I had purchased that afternoon I was greeted with the smell of rotten garbage, the inside was dirty and needed to be cleaned and the crispers each contained a couple inches of smelly dark colored liquid. The microwave had food splatters on the inside. The cable was not working, and that evening the lights in the front half of the house wouldn't come on. Our 2nd night in the house it rained, hard. We woke up to the house being completely surrounded by standing water. Even the carport and ground floor lanai. My SUV was sitting in at least 5 inches of water in the driveway. Looking down the street I noticed we were the only house in this state. We also had plumbing issues in the master bathroom during our stay, a bag of my belongings that I had stored under the sink was soaked from a water leak. Tri power responded to my complaints in a timely manner during their business hours, on weekends my voice mails went unanswered for hours requiring me to call and leave messages more than once. Needless to say, this is the worst rental property experience we've ever had, and we've had many. We stay on FMB every summer to visit family and friends, and we will never be staying here again or recommending this property to friends or family.
Our family of 5 (kids ages 10, 6, and 4 mo.) had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. We had everything we needed and the house is lovely. It is located conveniently between the beach--an easy walk--and a fishing/boating dock where father and son enjoyed catching a variety of sealife each night--including blowfish, sting rays, and snappers. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. The traffic going north was pretty much stopped from 9am-9pm during spring break, but we were able to get to the pier two days by leaving before 9. We would definitely stay here again!
This house was perfect! loved, loved, loved the cozy beach feel! Right across the street from the beach, so convenient for an early morning walk or bike ride! We were just a short drive from the little shops and tons of great restaurants...Fresh Catch Bistro is a must for a really nice dinner! and publix was only a few blocks away so we were easily able to stock up on everything we needed. We really enjoyed the back patio, which had a great breeze running through it most of the time. We would certainly recommend this property and hopefully we'll be back!!
