Updated 3 bedroom condo located in a quiet Anchorage neighborhood. A perfect retreat for a vacation with your family or friends without the hassle of renting a hotel room. The Coastal Trail and Kincaid Park are nearby and downtown Anchorage is just 10 minutes away.
Comfortably accommodating up to 6 vacationers, but sleeps up to 8 vacationers. The fully equipped kitchen will fulfill your culinary desires and there is a balcony to view the mountain range.
You can simply relax and recharge yourself or explore and enjoy the superb outdoors. This place is a skier’s paradise with ample opportunities for other adventures as well. There is an indoor Water Park nearby which is great for family outings.
The town and its shopping centers are close by for stocking up on supplies and souvenirs and while you are there, do step in the restaurants and diners to try some scrumptious delicacies.
As a relatively large group of 8 people, we found Carla's rental suite to be a great choice. The place was clean and well furnished just as described and pictured in the listing. Carla was very accommodating and prompt when replying to our questions, and helped us select the property that would best suit our needs. Clear instructions were provided throughout the process.
The suite is conveniently located just a few minutes from anywhere you want to go in Anchorage and is very easy to locate. Everything you need is provided, including well stocked kitchen dishes, linens, and plenty of blankets if you needed to convert the couches into comfortable beds as our group did.
We felt welcomed here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Compared to hotels, which were the same price or much more $$, this is a definite win. I will be recommending this to anybody I know who wants to stay at Anchorage.
My family and I stayed at this condo for several days when we arrived in Alaska prior to our journey to Denali and other locations. Since our trip costs were adding up we were looking for a location our family could all be together instead of spread out in hotel rooms. It was so nice to have the kitchen to prepare meals for the kids so we didnt have to eat out every meal. We also requested baby items and the owners were nice enough to provide a Pack-n-play and several other items. We arrived late at the airport so we were happy that we only had to drive less than 10 minutes to the condo. The condo was very clean and linens were cozy. We would stay here again and the price was right!
I stayed in this unit in June 2012. It was very comfortable, clean and felt like home-away-from-home. I was on extended work assignment so it was very nice to have a place that felt like home at the end of the day. The location is a bit out of the way but easily accessible by city bus or vehicle. It is not in walking distance to much, except for a sketchy gas station a stone's throw away.
Upon first entrance I was impressed with the comfortable bed and attractive, clean bedding. There are plenty of sleeping quarters for a group or large family. The only down-side to my stay were the unfriendly neighbors who stared when I came and went and did not return greetings. One neighbor works at night and strictly enforces the after-hours noise curfew (I accidentally did laundry after curfew). Were it not for the neighborhood, and unsettling neighbors this would be a great location any guest! If you don't mind the unfriendly atmosphere and can ensure you won't exceed the noise restrictions (which as a single woman, I thought it wouldn't be a problem) then this is a great unit!
We were very excited to see how close the condo was to Kincaid Park. Kincaid Park is a magical place and only a five minutes drive from the condo. In winter there is something for everyone; hiking, skiing, sledding and even mountain biking! In the summer we are able to hike the coastal trail that is absolutley beautiful and bike with our children. The condo is also a short distance away from The Dimond Center whick includes a mall and movie theatre. Overall we have enjoyed our stay in south anchorage and would gladly recommend the Berry Patch condo.
The photos of Berry Patch I are excellent and give you a very good feel for the entire place. The upstairs is the living/dining/kitchen area and the downstairs is the 3 bedrooms and bathroom. You enter on the lower level. Everything was clean. The kitchen needed maybe just a few more towels, but otherwise was stocked with enough items. The location is convenient. The owners were responsive and called to make sure we had arrived.
Our only complaint was the parking spot that is with the unit. It is extremely difficult to get into and when we were there, the parking lot had a stream running through it which made turning around very difficult for any vehicle with low clearance.
The outside is nothing to rave about. But inside was nice.
I recently got married. My wedding party stayed at this condo and had a marvelous time. They were thrilled that the condo was in close proximity to the airport (they didn't have a rental car), that there were several restaurants in walking distance (Tastee Freeze [burger joint], Ronnie Sushi, and Kincaid Grill [upscale seafood/wine]) and was in the middle of town (close enough to get downtown easily, but also easy to hop on a road down to Seward). They all are runners, so were happy to find out that there were tons of well-maintained sidewalks in all directions along the main roads, a small park with a track (.5 mi away), a school with a track (1 mi) and an enormous park with cross-country running trails too!
There were 7 of them that stayed there. They were very comfortable space-wise. There were plenty of blankets, pillows and towels for everyone. It was clean and bright. Everyone that stayed in the downstairs bedrooms were perfectly happy with the amount of light (dark enough to sleep comfortably). The only complaint came from the upstairs-sleepers because the blinds didn't darken the rooms enough (they're all from Texas and aren't used to the sunny Alaskan nights). When I visited late at night, I thought it was fine (dark enough, but not cave-black-dark). That was an extremely minor issue overall, since everyone still decided to rate it as an "excellent" experience - like I said, it is really a matter of light preferences - otherwise, the Berry Patch condo hit the mark on cleaniness and comfort. Everyone from the group will definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in visiting Anchorage.
