Paradise valley offers Yellowstone River fly fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding and some of the best scenic beauty Montana has to offer. Famous Chico Hot Springs is close by. Soak in the mineral waters or dine at their wonderful gourmet restaurant. We truly look forward to welcoming you to our home!

Attractions: Yellowstone River, only 5 minutes away, is famous for it's trout-fishing. The river meanders all through the valley, so if fishing or playing on the river is your passion, do make this your destination and indulge it to the full!

If you happen to arrive at dusk, you may find yourself greeted by a hillside full of deer! Watch closely as you drive up - their colors blend in with the hills. Or watch them cross just below the house in the morning. You are free to hike and roam the hills around the house - keeping a respectful distance from other homes & fence lines.

FOOD ! -- Kitchen & Patio Grilling: The large, gourmet kitchen provides all you need (from cookware & utensils to crystal wine & champagne glasses) to create home-cooked meals whenever you choose to 'eat in.' The kitchen table, the grill on the patio or our new large deck are the best spots to congregate with full-on views of the mountains, river & valley! With plenty of room & seating for 12 in the farm-style kitchen, along with the wide-open, top-of-the-hill views from the dining room & patio, preparing and enjoying meals here will be one of your most memorable times.

The living room has comfortable seating for watching TV, reading a book or just gazing out one of the many large windows to watch the weather move thru the valley or just daydream. It is open to the kitchen, so even a large group of people may enjoy their time together in the 2100 sq ft. open floor plan.

Accommodations: Our home easily accommodates 8-10 people. A king size bed in Master bedroom & large soaker tub & shower in the master bathroom indulge your sense of privacy & comfort. A queen bedroom upstairs is across the hall from the 2nd bathroom (shower). The 3rd bedroom is also upstairs & has 2 twin beds. A full size futon is available in the loft area (with birds-eye views of both the house & surrounding areas). Two twin air mattresses for use in any room, allows us to accommodate up to 10 people. Luxury linens go a long way to ensuring everyone has an excellent night's rest.

The open loft area is a great spot for the kids to hang out after a busy day outdoors, with games, puzzles, and books, or choose a selection from the video library, with many titles to pick from. Connect to the outside world with wireless high-speed internet access. Your vacation home is completely prepped before you arrive & cleaned after your stay.

Come & be renewed in the peace & beauty of this wonderful Valley!

Hi there, we love to be outdoors in the Natl Parks and Rocky Mountains! We look forward to sharing our home with you, as you experience your own time under the big skies of Montana, where clean air, bright stars and that wild west adventure await you!

Kevin and Debbie purchased this house in 2010

We have hiked, backpacked and fished in gorgeous mountainous areas for years and found this valley from which to base our adventures! And so close to Yellowstone too - what a bonus! We are from San Diego and very much look forward to our time here - just as you will! Emigrant Peak beckons from just across the valley, which we hiked/climbed Sept 2010 - about 6 miles to the top at 10,900 ft - a challenging one for us!

Would love to come back! This place is PERFECT!!

"Perfect" was the theme of our entire vacation. The house has unbelievable views! You're not going to want to take your eyes off Emigrant Peak when you get there. It's so beautiful, my husband and I were married in front of the house with the Emigrant Peak as the background. It's really incredible.
The home is well equipped and very comfortable. The ping pong table in the garage is a huge bonus and we spent many hours out there playing.
We took 3 trips into Yellowstone (which is only a short 1/2 hour drive away). We were amazed at the wildlife. The buffalo and elk often are right next to the road. We saw Big Horn Sheep, very close up. 12 Grizzly Bears, one of which we walked parallel with on the shores of Yellowstone Lake (keeping a safe distance of course). A few black bears, one had 2 cinamon cubs with her, 2 moose, a pack of wolves (they put on a howling demonstration for us) and fox.
We would wake up and enjoy our morning coffee while watching the mule deer mill around the cabin.
Livingston was about a half hour away and had everything we needed. If you're looking for a great steak, the Rib and Chop House is the place to go. (we preferred it over the Yellowstone Valley Lodge steaks).
We really enjoyed our evening at The Old Saloon after our wedding. The people there are WONDERFUL and everyone we talked to were super nice and helpful for pointing us in the right direction for wildlife viewing.
The word "perfect" was used by us so often during our stay that it became comical. You cannot go wrong with this rental. If you're looking for "The Perfect" place to stay while vacationing in Montana... you've found it.

Perfect for Us

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "House on the Hill". The house is clean and spacious with amazing views. The kitchen is more than adequate and fully stocked - a big plus for us. The location is perfect - convenient to Yellowstone, and such a pleasure to return to in the evenings. The owners, Debbie and Kevin, are very accommodating and eager to please.
As mentioned by the previous guests - we also witnessed the distant fires, but never considered them to be a threat. There was some smoke in the area, but that was short lived. (They were very diligent in controlling the fires and did an excellent job.) We had a wonderful vacation and would return in a heartbeat!! Highly recommend!!

On our journey to Yellowstone we rented this lovely home in the beautiful area of paradise valley. It is within an hour of the park and has the privacy and comfort that make it worth the drive. Coming from Oregon with all the trees, we enjoyed the wide open expansive views from the home. We also enjoyed sitting out on the patio and star gazing. There's a reason they call it paradise valley!

Great vacation - minus the forest fires and fear of snakes

Thank you for letting us stay in your home. We travelled into Yellowstone daily to see the sites with the exception of going to Chico to the pool one day which my children loved! We also went back to Chico for our anniversary and both enjoyed a massage and a really nice dinner. A word of caution - we were surprised to find a note from the home owner about two rattlesnakes found in the yard. Not being from Montana it made us very nervous with our outgoing 3.5 year old twins. We would have like to let them run in the yard to get out that energy. I understand also that you cannot control forest fires and when they will happen - we had a forest fire on the ridge behind us, across the mountain where we could see the flames at night and down in Tom Miner Creek. Being surrounded on three sides by fire makes a city girl like myself very nervous. I would leave evacuation instructions for future tenants in the wonderful book you left us. Im so sorry to say we were happy to leave - not the house, just the stress of the fires was a bit much for us non locals.

Owner's Response: Sadly, there are fires in Paradise Valley this year, none directly threatening our home. If so, we would be in immediate communication with guests by telephone. We receive regular reports from our on-site housekeeper, manager and neighbors and feel comfortable that our home is safe - even from our own off-site location. We will add evacuation routes to our Guest Notebook; thanks for the suggestion!

There is the possibility of snakes in the Paradise Valley area, as stated in our Guest Notebook. They come out for the sun but prefer to keep to themselves. For the first time, 2 snakes were seen on our 4 acre property this year - a good distance from the house, beyond the driveway. One was removed. The notice was intended as an additional precaution, to make our guests aware of the sighting which occurred in the Spring/ early Summer when new ones were hatching and leaving their nests.

We personally speak with all guests making a reservation at our home, and ask them to contact us if they have questions at any time, either before or during their stay. Once guests arrive, our detailed Guest Notebook provides additional information regarding our home and surrounding area, including our direct phone number, and encouraging guests to contact us while there, if they have any questions or concerns. We were unaware of this guest's concerns until this review was submitted.

Family Vacation

We stayed at the House on the Hill from June 7-14. The weather was unusually warm, in the 80's and full sunshine, I even got burnt! There were four of us who went on vacation and stayed at this lovely home on the mountainside. My husband and my sister and her husband. We had an amazing time. The house has everything you could ever imagine or need. It was stocked with everything. It was a short drive to Yellowstone National Park where we spent several days hiking and checking out all of the wildlife. We saw bears, bear cubs, elk, a bald eagle, bison...the wildlife this time of year were really out. Wildflowers everywhere. It was nice to visit the park during the day and come home to this quiet house in the evenings and cook dinner, soak in the huge bathtub and sit outside under the stars and enjoy a fire in the fire pit. The house is immaculate, roomy, and just beautifully decorated. There is a little general store not too far where we got groceries. The house has no air conditioning but it wasn't a problem, just pull the shades during the day and when you get home open the windows, an awesomely cool breeze will instantly blow through the house. Best vacation ever. So glad we stayed here!
