The two holiday apartments are situated on the most romantic and unique sandy beach near London. They are family managed by the owner . The 250 year old house is comfortably furnished with books, videos and games. Every room has a beautilful view either out to sea and the chalk cliffs or towards the victorian garden at the back of the house. There is a ever changing scene of the tides with the fascinating sea birds and big vessels to watch either from the window or beach directly infront of the property. You have opportunities to golf straigth behind the house, go swimming, go to the children's play area or play tennis. A good idea is to bring your own bicycles with you. It is a very sunny flat with beautiful sea views. You can see the arch in the chalk cliffs reaching into the sea. It is furnished with the highest standard and located on the first floor of the property. The parent's bedroom and living room/ dinner overlook the sandy beach. The children's bedroom and kitchen overlook a charming Victorian garden. There are two bathrooms, one for the parents and one for the children. The kitchen is equipped for every need. You can prepare your family meal, whilst at the same time watching your children playing on the beach.

These self catering holiday apartments in Kent are located on the outskirts of Broadstairs. It is a great accommodation right opposite the sandy Kingsgate Bay. Here you will find the sea in front, an old castle (Kingsgate Castle) to your right and a comfortable family pub the Captain Digby to your left. The rear of the holiday apartment is surrounded by the North Foreland Golfcourse, which is overlooked by the nearby North Foreland Lighthouse. The famous surfing and holiday beach Joss Bay is right next to Kingsgate Bay. Broadstairs ( home of Charls Dickens) town centre is in walking distance to your holiday cottage (about 30 min). You can walk along the beach or on the road when the tide is in. Kingsgate Bay is a very nice sandy beach. You can enjoy the sea view from your holiday apartment. Canterbury is about 30min away by car. It is a very beautiful town. To London you can go by train in about 1 1/2h.

  • Water rates are included in the rental payment. Gas and electricity usage will be calculated at the end of stay. Bed linen & tea towels are available free of charge. Please bring your own towels with you.
  • Arrival/departure: Persons renting are asked not to arrive before 4 pm and on departure days before 10 am. This allows a thorough clean to be made of the property. On arrival a security deposit of £ 200 is required for possible breakages etc. and if nobody has smoked inside the apartment. This is refunded on departure. It is necessary to contact the owner near to the commencement of the holiday to state a time of expected arrival on the due date.
  • On booking a 50% deposit is required and the balance 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday.

Wir hatten zwei sehr schöne und erlebnisreiche Wochen im Spätherbst im Holland Cottage am Kingsgate Bay verbracht. Die Fahrt mit der Fähre war sehr angenehm und der Rest mit dem Auto war eigentlich ein Kinderspiel. (viel Kreisverkehr, aber sehr gut ausgeschildert!) Das alte Herrenhaus hat eine top Lage, echt traumhaft. Es ist ein super Blick aus dem Fenster der Ferienwohnung auf das offene Meer. Man kann die Schiffe sehen, die in Richtung Themse nach London fahren. Autostellplätze sind vorhanden. Idealurlaub für jede Altersklasse und Interessen. Ob am Strand wandern, Fahrrad fahren, Tagesausflüge nach Canterbury, London, Dover oder einfach abends gegenüber ins Pub gehen, alles ist machbar. Das Beste zum Schluss. Die Gastfamilie ist einfach klasse!!! Sehr hilfsbereit, sehr locker und immer mit guten Ratschlägen präsent. Da perfekt deutsch und englisch gesprochen wird, gibt es auch hier keine Probleme. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig und sehr komfortabel eingerichtet, so dass auch Familien mit Kindern Gefallen daran finden. Schöner Urlaub, wir sagen danke und kommen bestimmt bald wieder!

Wir haben mit unseren 3 Kindern 12 wunderschöne, regenfreie Tage hier verbracht. Die Lage direkt am Meer ermöglicht neben ergiebigen Badetagen auch mal den schnellen Sprung ins Wasser. Morgens wird man durch das Rauschen des Meeres geweckt...
Die Umgebung ist perfekt, um England ohne Tourismus kennen zu lernen. Ein Auto ist sehr empfehlenswert!
Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was den Urlaub angenehm gestaltet. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit.
Wir können die FeWo uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!!!

Familienurlaub

Wir waren im Sommer 2008 für zwei Wochen im Holland House Cottage.
Die Lage auf den Kreidefelsen ist traumhaft:
-kurze Wege zum Strand
-ein nie überlaufener, oft eher einsamer Sandstrand
-herrlicher Blick aufs Meer (wir haben unzählige Fotos ...)
-schöne Ausblicke auf eine Burg oder das alte Pub Captain Digby

Das Wetter war bis auf einen Nachmittag und Abend schön, obwohl auch im Südosten Englands mehrfach schlechteres Wetter angekündigt war. Das Zipfelchen mit Broadstairs hat offenbar mehr Sonne als andere Gegenden. Dafür spricht auch, dass es zu den trockensten Gegenden Englands gehört und Wasser gespart werden soll.

Die Wohnung im 2. Stock ist gemütlich eingerichtet, die Küche hat alle nötigen Geräte.

Ich würde nicht behaupten, dass man gut ohne Auto auskommt. So kurz sind die Wege nach Broadstairs oder Margate nun nicht. Aber eine Wanderung an der Küste nach Margate gehört zu unseren netten Erinnerungen, der Küstenrad- und Wanderweg ist sehr zu empfehlen.
Weitere Ausflüge haben wir z.B. nach Canterbury und nach London unternommen, per Bus und Bahn.

Für deutsche Urlauber ist es natürlich angenehm in Frau Vince eine deutsche Ansprechpartnerin zu haben, mit der sich telefonisch (oder per e-mail) alles regeln lässt. Vor Ort kann man leicht um Rat fragen. Auch die Bezahlung auf ein deutsches Konto ist hier möglich.
Ich kann die Wohnung sehr empfehlen.
