About The Owner

We are a family with one young child who enjoy the activities and climate of the Comox Valley.

The Owner purchased this house in 2002

Why The Owner chose Courtenay

We came up to Courtenay one Valentine`s day to go skiing, and the weather was so nice we decided to spend the day golfing instead, followed by shopping and a great dinner out. We skied the very next day and were so enchanted by all the amazing things we could do here year round that we decided to build our dream house here. This is where we are hoping to retire and spend our time exploring, fishing, skiing, and golfing.

What makes this house unique

Golf, fishing, spa, exploring, fossil hunting, shopping, going to farmer's markets and art galleries, skiing, hiking, whale watching, bird watching, kayaking, biking, relaxing (whew).

Everything Worked Out Perfectly

  • 5 of 5
I recently rented this home along with three of my golfing buddies for a three night stay and it was ideal for our needs. We are all semi-retired guys in our early 60's and are well beyond sharing bedrooms and bathrooms, so the lay out with four of each was perfect for us. The location is great, very central to lots of golf. We played Storey Creek, Pheasant Glen and Crown Isle while in the area. The view from the sun deck is fabulous and there was an eagle constantly hunting and feeding her fledgelings. We could also see the sun glinting off the mainland mountains while the sun rose over the Salish Sea.
In the house, the kitchen, dining room and great room are all connected which makes it all very social. There is a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor which is good for anyone with trouble with stairs. Upstairs, there are two beds and baths including the master which has a great view over the estuary. The fourth bed and bath is in the basement along with the hot tub which we made good use of. The kitchen is very well equipped and we had some great dinners. There is a very large high capacity fridge and nice island for assembling meals.
All-in-all, we had a first class experience, the owners are great god deal with and we will have no hesitation renting from them again. Highly recommended!

A nice getaway

We have a group who get together each year. This year we chose the Comox Valley and as such rented this home. It was close to all we needed, quick walk to the ocean, lots of room. It was a lovely place to stay.

Great location and Cozy fireplace

  • 4 of 5
Nice large house on the ocean. Great view, lovely to walk around and along the water. Quick drive to Kingfisher and the towns of Courtney and Comox are near-by. I'd give this an excellent rating if it weren't for a few things: Hot tub didn't heat up and the fridge was broken all weekend. Luckily there was a bar fridge in the basement. We had to leave some of our food at room temperature since it wouldn't all fit in the bar fridge and couldn't keep ice frozen which was a pain. It was rainy and cold so our seafood could be left on the deck. We had to run in to town to buy toilet paper and paper towels the first day, there was no extra in the house, there were five of us. I know the owners did their best to get the fridge working, but it did put a damper on the weekend and I'm sure it's fixed now. I'd rent again and i'd highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. The owners are really nice and leave great instructions and recommendations which helped us out. We got great use of the fireplace on the rainy weekend. Thankfully there was dry wood in the garage so it made for the perfect cozy time.
