Antrim Cottage

In September 2010, we rented Antrim Cottage for the month. As luck would have it, the month turned out to be mostly cold and rainy but our experience was terrific.
The cottage itself is spacious, well furnished, warm and dry. Even on the darkest of days the cottage is full of light because of the many large windows on each side. The views from any room are wonderful, but the view from the front facing the living room, dining room and master bedroom are truly ‘cottage country’ in any weather. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The bedrooms are tucked away from the main living area so that a grandchild (or even a grand dad) can have an afternoon nap undisturbed.
The living room highlight (besides the view) is a large beautiful stone fireplace which certainly had a good work out last September.
The large piece of land on which Antrim Cottage sits is perfect. Although the driveway is steep, the land around the cottage slopes gently to the shore, is well treed and having both deep water and shallow water is a terrific bonus. To sit on the top of the boathouse in the late afternoon sun is to truly experience cottage life. If I was asked to change anything about the cottage, I wouldn’t. It is that good and we have rented cottages in Muskoka for over 30 years.
