AVALON BY THE SEA is located in an ideal area of IOP - quiet yet close to the action. This seven year old home has 11 ft. ceilings, cherry floors throughout, and unique horizontal wood paneled walls. The pool is adjacent to the spacious living, dining and kitchen area. The back yard is partially fenced & very private. The roof top deck has a large stairway vs. circular - seating for eight with lounge chairs & rockers - favorite spot with a cool drink at the end of a great day at the beach. We have a wood paneled elevator - shower off on the first level and take the elevator to the upper floors.

We aim to give our guests a turn-key, pampered vacation so they only need to bring personal items and food. WE SUPPLY ALL PAPER GOODS FOR THE ENTIRE STAY!!! This includes dishwasher soaps, laundry detergent, tin foil and other wraps, oils, spices etc. etc. We have loaded up with 400 thread count linens, fluffy towels, a sturdy beach wheelie, beach chairs, beach toys and coolers. The home is spotlessly clean with a high level of guest service provided by our housekeeping team.

For those that love to cook - top of the line cookware, knives, spices, oils & the gadgets needed to prepare a wonderful meal from the plentiful fresh caught seafood & local produce available on the island. There are 2 ovens, 6 burner professional gas range, huge Kitchen Aid refrigerator and gorgeous granite. There is a granite wet bar with wine fridge. We just added an additional new fridge in the garage for all those cool beverages. There is a gas grill on the deck hooked up to the propane so no worries about switching tanks. Other kitchen items that come in handy: crock pot, food processor, large pot for corn, numerous trays and casserole dishes.

We have DIRECT TV (only ONE remote - yea!) and of course high speed internet, a Sony cd player with radio, 5 flat screen tvs - 42 in. in great room - dvd player in great room and two upstairs.

Two king bed masters with huge bathrooms, one with jacuzzi. Kids bedroom with bunk bed and two singles. Fourth bedroom w/queen bed and a trundle that becomes two singles- also 37 inch flat screen w/dvd. .

From our house it is a quick stroll to reach Palm Blvd. and the direct beach access path to the pristine beaches of IOP (approx. 5 minutes and you are on the beach). You can walk or bike for miles in either direction. Besides being in walking distance to the little town shopping area, we are four blocks to the recreation center with playground, tennis, basketball court etc.

Ten minutes to Town Center in Mt. Pleasant with shops, restaurants, movie theatre - 20 minutes to marvelous historic Charleston - the kids wil love the aquarium.

The Isle of Palms Marina is 5 minutes away with water sports available and a very popular seafood restaurant.

For your use at no charge, we have a GOLD PASS for the Charleston County Parks which is valid for more than a dozen people in a vehicle. Offers unlimited visits to the beach park on IOP w/playground, bathrooms etc. Also, venues such as Caw Caw Interpretive Center (bird sanctuary), music and food venues i.e. Reggae Nights Summer concerts and Lowcountry Cajun Festival.

Exceptional!

My family stayed at this lovely home while in the area for a wedding. We had 13 people in our group, 7 of them children, and the home had room for everyone without feeling crowed. Andrea was responsive to questions and even purchased life-vests for the younger children when I inquired if they might have some.

We were not disappointed in any way. We recommend this home!

Relaxing Family Vacation

Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and well equipped house! We had 6 people, 4 adults and 2 "kids" ages 19 and 23. Short walk to the beach and nice pool to cool off in. The only negative thing about the house is the annoying alarm that goes off if you open the doors out to the pool. (told it's a state law) We followed the directions on how to keep the door slightly open so the alarm would not sound, but were using the wrong door so the manager Mike came over and showed us. We ended up keeping the door slightly open the entire stay as the alarm goes off throughout the house and disturbs anyone who is trying to sleep. I would like the option of disabling the alarm since our children were adults. I would gladly have signed a waiver. We did have a very nice stay!

GREAT HOUSE!

Just wanted to share this amazing vacation we had at Avalon By The Sea. This home could not have been any more perfect for our four-generation family. Only a short walk to the beach. Was very convenient to grocery store, resturants and connector to Charleston. The home was beautiful and fully equipped with anything you would need. The owners availability for questions and information was an additional special plus. Thank you Andrea.

Perfect in every way

Our family spent two weeks at Avalon by the Sea. We were 8 adults and 2 infants. First of all the house is beautiful with so many high end finishes. Tall baseboards, beautiful crown moldings, southern ceiling palm fans in nearly every room. There were books to read, games to play and televisions everywhere for rainy hours. The kitchen is magnificent. With a large group, and especially babies, to have the luxury of all the conveniences of home in a gorgeous setting is ideal. We cooked many fabulous meals here and loved it all. My memories of candlelight dinners at the large dining table make me wish I were back there with all my family. There are two spacious master bedrooms with baths. One is on the first floor and the second is upstairs. The two rooms were perfect. The other two bedrooms are smaller, but each have a private bath and one has a balcony. We did not use the fenced backyard or the pool. We did sit near the pool area when we grilled and it was a lovely space. The easy access rooftop deck is a spot we had morning coffee and took in the ocean view and ended our evenings with wine and the stars. The area is very quiet and residential. It seemed as though most neighbors were year rounders. The ocean is a very short block away. The house is equipped with beach chairs and toys. The elevator is such a convenience for arrival and departure.
The only thing I may have wished for might be more seating in the living room area. We simply moved dining chairs in, however, I see that the owners have actually provided more permanent seating themselves.
Our stay was a delight and all of us recommend this house completely. Andrea and her husband were wonderful to work with. We actually left an item behind and they promptly mailed it off to us. We could not have been happier with our stay.

Perfect Girls Weekend!

Avalon by the Sea could not have been more perfect. We had 12 ladies in our group traveling from all over the country to meet for a weekend getaway in the Isle of Palms and Charleston. The home was extremely comfortable and spacious. The open living/dining/kitchen area was great for hanging out as a group and the pool attached to this open living area created a fabulous indoor/outdoor experience. Not only was the home comfortable it was decorated beautifully and thoughtful amenities were appointed throughout. Beach access is literally just a block away and less than half a mile to IOP's restaurants and bars. Great location. Andrea was a pleasure to work with which made planning a girls trip that much easier to orchestrate. If we are able to do this trip again we will definitely be reserving Avalon by the Sea.

It Could be Better

We were disappointed because the house wasn't as the property was represented online. First of all, it was stated that you wouldn't find a cleaner place. After checking in, I had to deep clean the kitchen, the baseboards, and clean up the walls. It looked like it hadn't been touched in months. The bathrooms were clean, but again when you look down the baseboards weren't. It was cleaner when I left, but spent a few hours so we could stay. The owners were easy to get a hold of and did apologize, but we were staying for a month, so I would have thought it would have been "ready". We chose the property because there was a pool which provided "abundant" afternoon sun. The pictures showed it as sunny as well. A house has been built, so there isn't a sunny spot to be had. Their is an extra spot to sit in the sun which is on top of the roof. Stairs are steep though and the heating units are next to the chairs which the pictures don't show and once again it is quite noisy to hear them run sitting right next to them. The outside is in need of cleaning and painting which the owners have said that is on their list to do next. The layout of the house is good and all bedrooms are good size. Two master bedrooms with a full sized couch, big closet and spacious bathroom. Although when the furnace is on both of these bedrooms are very noisy. Some of the furniture looks "tired", but with a little TLC it could be more comfortable. This house does have an elevator which is a plus for groceries, luggage, and if you difficulties using steps. The location is an easy walk to the beach, about a block and a half with many good restaurants nearby.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at Avalon by the Sea. We respect your opionion and we are taking all of your suggestions and criticisms into account. We can assure our spring and summer guests that there will be ample sunsine to enjoy at our pool. Our roof deck is huge and yes it does have the heat pump units which were probably noisy to you as the temperatures were so very cold during your stay. The roof deck is accessed by a regular stairway which I would not label steep. I am a grandmother and they are no problem for me!
As soon as you departed, our painting contractor arrived with his crew. The job is huge taking gallons and gallons of paint and we are positive the house will have a new sunny look along with a gorgeous english hayrack of flowers adorning the front staircase.
We recently purchased new swivel chairs for the great room and Citrus Cleaners did an wonderful job with the sofa and loveseat.
I know you were upset as you thought the pool heat was included. It states clearly on our site that you pay for the propane.
To conclude, we look forward to welcoming new guests and returning guests for our almost sold out high season.
