Lake Lancelot and the Beach Club area are just a few steps away from the yard and has a sandy beach, shallow roped-off swim area, play/picnic area, boat launch and our dock.
Whether you prefer to spend your days with lots of activities on the lake and the beach, the many area attractions or just relax on the deck with a glass of wine or at the fire pit with S'mores... 'Lakeside GetAway' is definitely the right place for it.
SUGAR SPRINGS AMENITIES: As our guest, you will have access to all amenities. A few of the amenities require a fee for the activity. There is a fee schedule in our Welcome Book. You will need to provide your own sports equipment.

-15 Beach Clubs. Sugar Springs has Beach Clubs scattered through out the community. Not all of them have the same amenities. A large color map of Sugar Springs is provided for your convenience.

Autumn brings beautiful color changes as well as hunting and opportunities to spot deer, elk, fox, wild turkey, raccoon, eagles and lots of native birds End your day by watching a beautiful sunset on the lake while relaxing on the deck.
Light a fire in the outdoor fire pit and roast marshmallows for S'mores or have a glass of wine under the starry sky while planning your return to 'The Lakeside GetAway'.

Are you a crafter….scrapbooking or rubberstamping, etc. Do you have a group of friends that you like to work on your craft projects with? Our home is a great place for a crafting week-end. The lower level family room has 2 additional dining tables, folding table and extra folding chairs and lots of room to spread out with your supplies and projects. If you run out of something for your project, there is a great craft supply store…Arnie’s in Houghton Lake. Have some girlfriends that you just want to hang out and chill with (or have a Spa Day at River Walk Spa in Gladwin)...or some 'buddies' that would like to do some ice fishing...Lakeside GetAway is the place to stay.
**Enjoy all Winter Sports in the heart of North Michigan's Snowbelt. Gladwin county and surrounding areas have numerous, x-country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and some snowshoe trails.
-Ice Fishing, X-Country Ski or Snowmobile right on Lake Lancelot (or any of the great trails in the area).
-Higgins Lake Cross Country Ski Headquarters. 9 nationally recognized trails. Trails are groomed. Once a month they offer: Headlight Night skiing and Full Moon Night Skiing.
Ski/snowshoe rentals & lessons are available. Learn to ski for free on their special dates thru-out the winter. Trails for snowshoeing are also available (special dates where you can snowshoe at night and the trails are lit by lanterns).Warm up at their Stone Turtle Day Lodge with hot chili, one of their daily specials or bring your own picnic lunch or roast marshmallows over the new outdoor bonfire pit
-Ogemaw Hills Pathway snowmobile trails (and numerous other trails in the area). Bring your own snowmobile or rent them in the area.
-Down hill skiing at Apple Mountain Golf & Ski in Freeman or Snow Snake Golf & Ski in Harrison for skiing or snowboarding & tubing in their Terrain Park. ZIPLINING at Snow Snake.
Hanson Hills Recreation Area in Grayling has downhill and Nordic skiing, tubing and a Terrain Park.

AUTUMN ADVENTURES:
There are 85,000 acres of State Forest land available in Gladwin County for all types of hunting (portion of this forest is just 4 miles from the front door). The white-tailed deer herds are so abundant in this area that seasoned hunters from farther up north come down to the Gladwin area for hunting season (once you have bagged your deer-take it into Gladwin to have it processed). Lakeside GetAway is located off of M-30 which runs thru the heart of Gladwin State Forest where you will find lots of 2 track and pull-offs to park at for your hunt.
Additional game available for hunting:
Small Game - rabbits, squirrels, ruffled grouse, woodcock, sharp tailed grouse, pheasants, quail, wild turkey, ducks and Canada Geese.
Not a hunter....there is a wide variety of fun in this area for the autumn nature or sports enthusiast. Are you a Leaf Peeper.? Hop in your car…and head over to Huron Nation Forest and take the RIVER ROAD SCENIC DRIVE for some great color changes, stop and hike to see some fantastic views or travel down the AU SABLE RIVER in a canoe/kayak. Drive around the immediate area and take in the cider mills, find great farm stands for apples, pumpkins and fresh vegetables, stumble upon Amish Farms with yummy homemade baked goods, fresh eggs, jams/jellies and quilts and crafts. You will spot all types of wildlife along the way. Just before dusk, drive the back roads near the house to spot white-tail deer and other wild life.
Want a more exciting fast pace….bring your ATV/ORV for fun on any of the numerous trails in the area.
