We enjoy just relaxing at the cabin, and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Plus fishing the Elk River that flows near the cabin.
This cabin was the perfect mountain getaway! It was beautifully decorated, larger than we expected, and had that perfect country charm feeling. Of course the modern conveniences were well appreciated too like the hot tub, washer and dryer, and more than 1 bathroom! I hope to go back again.
My husband and I, along with 2 other couples, wanted a weekend getaway to ride our 4-wheelers and see the beautiful Elk River. The cabin was a great place to stay and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. We enjoyed the hottub immensely. The master bedroom was extremely nice and cozy. Will definitely come back again to enjoy the scenery.
We stayed here with 2 other couples and our 2 children. It was clean and exceeding my expectations after looking at the pictures. Plenty of space for 6 adults, 2 toddlers, and a dog. It took a while for the place to warm up and the lower bed room was quite cold, but once we got the coal stove going it was nice and warm in the rest of the house. The hot tub was great and we enjoyed exploring the area around the cabin. Only thing I wish I would have know before going is just how isolated it was. By the time we got there we did not go anywhere because it was so far from everything.
Seriously I couldn't have imagined this place any better. From the coal stove to the wonderful hot tub. The inside of the cabin is great. Wood everywhere. Loved walking. The small cemetery was a surprise...but beautiful. It was warm and welcoming. The bedroom on the first floor had a hard time staying warm but it was -5 outside. We didn't care after day one that there was no cell reception. We went into Webster Springs for an afternoon and ate at the local diner. Super nice town. Absolutely fell in love with the cabin and the locals. We had a few days of complete relaxing in a winter wonderland. Will definitely return. Thank you Becky for all your help.
We had a wonderful (but too short) weekend at this cabin. Becky was very helpful with all my questions prior to our arrival. Everything was as described and we were very satisfied with the accommodations. The first night was a little chilly, but the wood burning stove took care of that pretty quickly and made things nice and cozy. The hot tub was clean and "hot". We will definitely come back again.
I love this cabin and it has been my refuse when I need it most for the last 19 years. Love it!
We really enjoyed staying at the cabin in Bergoo. Sitting on the front porch accompanied by the sound of the Elk River was very relaxing. We explored lots of nature nearby, Whitaker Falls is just a few minutes down the road. Once again the local folks impressed us with their friendliness.
The cabin was clean and neat. The hot tub was sparkling clean and worked great although it took two of us to open the cover. We used the fire pit in the back of the cabin which was all the outdoor cooking we needed. The propane and charcoal grills looked fine but we didn't bother. We had plenty of hot water to wash and bathe, I wish our house was as good! I was afraid the sheets and towels would be cheap and rough bit all were fine and we used them instead of our own. Having the master bedroom on the first floor was great for our old knees. The upstairs loft was a great hangout for our kid and I could see any gang loving it.
When we called the owner she was able to answer our questions on the spot. Being so remote is great if you are looking for that. Everything but the local store was at least 20-30 minutes away. We plan to go back to WV and will consider staying at this cabin again.
