Come enjoy this cabin retreat nestled in the mountains of Webster County just outside of Bergoo, WV. Relax the afternoon away watching wildlife from the covered front porch then spend the evening grilling on the large covered back deck with a long soak in the hot tub.

If kayaking and fishing are your interest then play in one of the many local rivers with Elk River being the closest. Also enjoy the Back Fork of Elk, Gauley, Cranberry, Williams, Holly plus many trout streams. Fish miles of the Elk River with in minutes of the Cabin. Elk River can be walked to with-in a 10 minute hike.

If snow skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing is your interest then be sure to visit Snowshoe Ski Resort just 26.5 miles away. After a hard day of play come back and warm up around the fireplace. Cabin features fully equipped kitchen, linens provided, washer &dryer, landline phone plus satellite TV.

The house was clean, cozy and has plenty of room. Kitchen was stocked very well. Loved the back porch and hot tub. A fisherman's dream cabin. We would definitely like to stay again.

Winter escape

Cabin was nice, exactly what we were looking for, for a quiet escape. However, it is in the middle of nowhere and a hike from DC, but that's what we wanted. We arrived during a cold snap (probably 0 degrees Fri. night) and the heating system couldn't warm the whole cabin. The wood stove was great and kept the living room nice, but back bedroom was cold. The Elk river is gorgeous and we look forward to going back and seeing it in the spring/summer. I bet it would be fun to stay here during the summer, especially if you fly fish.

Family Holiday

We had a wonderful holiday at the Elk River Retreat. The Christmas tree by the fireplace was beautiful and such a thoughtful addition to the our holiday celebration. We had lots of wood for the fire (compliments of the property management) and the wood stove made the cabin nice and toasty. The fire was a little stubborn to start once the embers died though so I would suggest some fire starter logs. The hot tub was well maintained and nice and hot! The kitchen was great for cooking, dining and socializing. But for an added dining pleasure be sure to visit the Elk River Resort and order the fresh trout! We definitely hope to return again.

Perfect Getaway

This cabin is larger than I expected it to be from the photos. The cabin has a large covered back porch with a picnic table and of course the hot tub (which worked great). Elk river is right across the road; I enjoyed sitting on the front porch listening to the river. The cabin is in a private area with just a few other cabins in the distance/separated by trees. All in all we had a great time and enjoyed the cabin. We are already thinking of a date we can stay again and recommending this place to friends!
