Enjoy relaxing self-catering accommodation in Studio Madalena. The studio-apartments are air-conditioned, central heating, mini-bar, mosquito nets, etc. with fully equipped kitchen. All of them offer a superb view over the sea. During all the year we live there offering our hospitality and any help to our guests. Studio Madalena is the ideal vacation rental for relaxing holidays in the Pelion. There are quiet surroundings amongst the olive trees, panoramic view and fantastic sunset in the entire gulf and the Mt Pilion. It is 5 minutes walk from the village Afetes a small picturesque mountainous village of Mt Pilion with intense traditional colour. 1.5 km (20 minutes walking) from Afissos, which is a very lively village with taverns, super markets, tourist shops and beaches. There are lots of small fantastic beach creeks in the wild Aegean Sea, 10 km distance. Studio Madalena is a suitable starting point for someone to visit the whole peninsula of Mt Pilion. Car recommended.

Time stands still in peaceful Afetes, a quiet little village that has plenty to offer for those wishing to escape the crowds to fully appreciate the surrounding nature and beauty of the landscape. Built 300 m above sea level, the village has the advantage of magnificent views of the coastal resort of Afissos with its long sand and shingle beach, and the Pagasitikos Gulf stretching far into the distance. Location: Afetes is located in the Eastern side of the Pagasitikos gulf on the slopes of Mt Pilion. Mt. Pelion, home of the Centaurs, has been renowned for its beauty since antiquity. Homer and his contemporary Hesiod have both praised its unique flora and medicinal plants in their works, describing Pelion as the “leafy” and “woody” mountain respectively. Today, the mountain is still densely forested and remarkably green, year round. It is a place to relax, a place to learn, a place to communicate with the environment. You will find here the authentic Greece. It is 5 minutes by foot away from the village Afetes. 1500m (20 minutes on foot) from Afissos which is a very lively village with taverns, super markets, tourist shops and beaches. 10 km distance to the wild Aegean Sea. Direct flight Gatwick to Volos – The Charterflight Centre or Thomsonfly

Excursions: A drive through the Pilion peninsula is indescribable. Near Volos there are the famous Neolithic places Sesklo and Dimini from 4000 B.C. Most of their excavated finds are in the museum of Volos. There is also a cute little train, which begins its trip from Ano Lechonia (18 km) and it climbs up the mountain of Pilion all the way to the historical village of Milies. One day trip with a little boat around the gulf or to the island of Skiathos. Also day trips to Delphi and the Meteora Monasteries by coach or car. For those who love walking-hiking there are a lot of marvellous trails.

Die gut ausgestattete, gepflegte Ferienwohnung ist ruhig gelegen und bietet eine traumhafte Aussicht über den Pagasäischen Golf. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, wurden bestens mit Insider-Tips und Kartenmaterial versorgt und bekamen sogar noch eine Privatführung durch das Archäologische Museum in Volos.
Studio Madelena ist ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt, um den Pilion zu erkunden. Ein Auto ist allerdings unentbehrlich. Es lohnt sich, die kleinen Badebuchten an der Ägäis (Anfang Mai noch fast menschenleer!) und die abgelegenen Dörfer zu entdecken (z. B. Taverne in Drakia).
Einen Urlaub bei Madelena kann man nur empfehlen!

Traumurlaub!!! Am liebsten sofort wieder!

Wer die Ruhe und Einsamkeit in der Natur, gutes Essen, wunderschöne Aussicht und eine hervorragend ausgestatte Unterkunft von privat sucht, ist BESTENS bei Madalena aufgehoben!!! Wir haben 2 wunderbare Wochen hier verlebt und haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt! Das Appartment ist bestens ausgestattet (alles Notwendige ist vorhanden und funktionsfähig), liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber! Madalena und ihre Familie haben uns nett in ihre Mitte aufgenommen ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wir haben 2 erholsame Wochen im Pilion verlebt - und wenn wir mal wieder in die Gegend fahren wollen, führt uns der Weg definitiv wieder zu Madalena!!!

Die Appartentes von Madalena waren ein echter Glücksgriff. Der unglaublich schöne Blick auf dem Pagasitischen Golf und die traumhaften Sonnenuntergänge,sind unbeschreiblich. Die FEWO´S waren sauber und hatten die beste Ausstattung, die wir bisher erlebt haben. Madalena und Familie kümmern sich rührend um Ihre Gäste.Wir haben viele Tipp´s über Ausflüge ,Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurantes erhalten, unbezahlbar.
Der Pilion ist für Naturliebhaber, Kultursuchende und Badeurlauber gleichermaßen geeignet. Wir haben schöne Wanderungen in den Kastanienwälder unternommen mit anschließendem Bad in kleinen verträumten Buchten im Ägäischen Meer. Auch die kleinen Dörfer mit ihren uralten Platanen (z.B.Makriniza) und kleinen Kirchen (z.B.Milies) waren ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis.
Ein guter Ausgangspunkt war unser Domizil auch für Ausflüge nach Olympia und den Felsenklöstern von Meteora. Ein wenig Fahrzeit sollte man in Kauf nehmen, aber die tiefsitzenden Eindrücke halten, ohne zu über-treiben, ein Leben lang.
Es sollte nur eine kurze Bewertung werden, aber die Erinnerungen an einen traumhaften Urlaub halten uns sofort wieder gefangen. Da wir nicht alles gesehen haben, freuen wir uns schon auf unseren nächsten Aufenthalt bei Madalena.
PS.: Das BIO-Olivenöl, das die Familie selber produziert ist göttlich und mußte noch erwähnt werden, Fragen Sie danach.
