|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
This charming, spacious (600 sq ft) and bright pied-a-terre is in a lovely home on a quiet tree-lined street in the beautiful Summerhill neighbourhood, just steps from some of the city's best shops and restaurants. Walk to Yorkville, Yonge and Bloor, the ROM, and the university. Three subway stations are just a 5 minute walk from the house. Getting around couldn't be easier. And yet, it is so quiet, you won't believe you are just a block from Yonge Street, and the beautiful Ramsden Park with public tennis courts and an outdoor ice rink (in season). Cycle through Rosedale, wander around the fascinating Mount Pleasant Cemetery where some of Canada's most famous men and women are buried. Have a latte at the excellent cafe on the corner and watch the world go by.
The newly renovated suite is perfect for singles or a couple. Make breakfast and light meals in the equipped kitchen. Take a relaxing bath in the jacuzzi tub. Do laundry in your suite.
It is the perfect spot from which to enjoy your stay in Toronto.
After living in lots of different neightbourhood in Toronto over the past 35 years, I finally found the best neighbourhood to live in. I invite you to share in the pleasures, elegance and convenience that is the Summerhill neighbourhood.
Diane Wood purchased this apartment in 2008
This self-contained apartment with private entrance is in our home.
Located in the heart of the city, it is the perfect spot from which to enjoy all Toronto has to offer. Access to everything, great shopping, great restaurants, great museums, all within a few minutes walk.
Thank you for such a thoughtfully appointed space to enjoy while in the city. Everything down here is so clean, comfortable and utterly charming - a real pleasure :-)
Proved perfect for us as we needed a place for 4 nights with our Toronto home under renovation. Fantastic, heart of the city (near Summerhill) on a gorgeous tree-lined street with Victorian houses on either side, street parking for our 2 cars and a patisserie 2 blocks away. Light filled designer apartment with kitchen, full laundry and great shower. Will keep top of mind when a 'staycation' is required (with parks, top restaurants and boutiques nearby). Have already booked the apartment for my mother's visit next spring (when the private garden will be in bloom and terrace will be at its best).
This studio is exactly as advertised: comfortable and convenient! It's in a nice residential neighborhood, with a short walk to the subway. There is on street parking available for a (very) reasonable price (just ask Diane for the info), and it doesn't alternate sides - so you can leave you're car parked for your entire stay and use public transportation (like we did). The pastry shop on the corner is awesome (but sadly wasn't open on Sunday). All in all, a great experience.
I had the pleasure of staying at this apartment for 6 weeks while doing a student internship in Toronto. At the very beginning of my correspondence with Diane, I saw that she was very reliable, helpful, and easy to deal with. This pattern definitely continued throughout my stay in Toronto. I also hadn't realized just how fantastic the accommodation was and where it was located until I got there. This is a basement suite in a house situated in the Rosedale/Summerhill area, which is evidently one of the nicest neighbourhoods in the city. It is also happens to be a very short walking distance from a Metro station and an even shorter walking distance from the bustling Yonge Street, which is one of the major cultural stretches in Toronto, full of shops, restaurants, and bars. As a student who needed access to both the University area and Sunnybrook Hospital over the 6 weeks, I found that the apartment was in an ideal location for my needs. The suite itself was very clean and well-furnished, complete with basic appliances, and an insuite washer and dryer. The bed was particularly comfortable! I also found the price to be very reasonable, considering the location and the quality of accommodation. I would highly recommend this apartment to Toronto visitors and would gladly stay there again during my next trip.
I absolutely loved this gorgeous apartment in a safe, quiet, yet central area of Toronto. I stayed for two weeks while doing some research nearby, and it was the ideal apartment to come home to and relax in each evening. I was truly grateful for it. First of all, it appeared exactly as it did in the pictures online. Also, Diane, the owner, had thought of all the little details that make your stay so much more pleasant - coffee, lovely fluffy fresh towels, shampoo and so on in the bathroom, and everything beautifully clean. The bed is very comfortable, the air conditioning was great as it was very hot in Toronto, and it was great to be able to cook with lots of utensils and quality cookware. Diane was very knowledgeable about the local area and gave great recommendations. She was also the ideal host because she balanced helpfulness and warm friendliness with being non-obtrusive. I will definitely choose this apartment again, and recommend it to my friends too.
A couple of blocks from the subway. Lots of restaurants handy and even an ice cream shop on the same street. Very cozy and clean. Washer and dryer available. Friendly people. What's not to like? We really enjoyed our stay and would heartily recommend this accommodation.
I have to say that I fell in love with this charming little "pied a terre" and I don’t feel that the photos do it justice.
Cleaning & upkeep are clearly a priority for the owner, everything was spic & span. The decor is largely contemporary and quite appealing. The kitchen is modern & surprisingly well setup for a studio. The dinnerware is lovely, Studio Nova & Mikasa if I recall? I love my baths and the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was just the ticket for relaxing with a book and a glass of wine before crawling into bed. The bed BTW was another nice surprise; it was uber-comfy and the linens were premium quality – nice touch!
The owner was a doll. Friendly, helpful and informative but not at all intrusive.
The location was ideal for me; in a very pretty and prestigious area of town but only a few blocks from Yonge & Bloor. I’m a foodie and the selection of restaurants just 3 blocks away was amazing! The quick walk to the subway took me past at least 6 upscale eateries and several adorable boutiques, including an ADORABLE pet-shop where I bought some “souvenirs” for my pups at home. I think my wallet was lightened in just about equal proportion to the increase of my waistline on those walks ;-)
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to friends or family spending time in Toronto. In fact, I've been singing it's praises to anyone who would listen. The only caveat would be that while nicely laid out, space is limited and it would be tight for more than 2 people if staying for a while. I was on my own for my short stay and I loved it.
Complaints? Only one and that would be that I can’t afford to keep this place on retainer so it’s available to me whenever I want to pop in for a getaway ;-)
Home to some of the finest food purveyors and design shops in the city, this neighbourhood has it all within walking distance. Great restaurants, cozy pubs, charming cafes, it is all here. Enjoy the finest the city has to offer. Steps from the Yonge Street subway, you can get around the city as easily as a local. Or walk to the fabulous shopping on Bloor Street, the Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma. Wander the trails through the Rosedale ravine. Visit the organic farmers makret at the Brickworks. Or just hang out at Caffe Doria, watching the wolrd go by.
