This very large and lovely home is situated in the heart of Carmel by the Sea. It is within a very short walking distance to the beautiful white sand Carmel beach and beach chairs and towels are provided. It is also a short walking distance to Carmel's world-class restaurants, shopping and art galleries, as the main street of that district, Ocean Avenue, is just a few blocks away. The area has many festivals and the property is within walking distance to the famed Pebble Beach Golf Course where the famous AT&T Golf tournament is held annually, the Concours d'Elegance, Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival and many more such events.
The home is also beautifully set up for entertaining. Plates and dishware are sufficient to serve more than 20 people as is the glassware. There are several serving plates for appetizers and an excellent array of wine, champagne, highball, martini and other drink glasses.
The home allows for maximum privacy as each bedroom is large, has separate walls and a separately enclosed bathroom. The loft, which can be used for extra sleeping accommodations is located above one of the bedrooms. This home is perfect for family gatherings, reunions, wedding parties, or couples just wanting the perfect getaway.
The roof deck has a recently-installed granite counter with seating for 8 overlooking Carmel Bay and 2 bar Height tables, each with seating for 4 to also take advantage of the great ocean view. It includes both a gas barbeque and a charcoal barbeque. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and the beautiful sunset in the evening, after a day of shopping, sight seeing or enjoying the beach.

I am a professional woman who works and resides in the Central Valley of California. I have owned the home for a considerable period of time and have very much enjoyed the use of the home over the years. I am now in a position where I would like to rent it more than I have in the past.
Victoria Salisch purchased this house in 1984
We chose Carmel because it is one of the most beautiful spots in the world and only 2.5 hours from our primary residence. We love the beach and the wonderful restaurants, galleries, and shopping. It is also close to the famed Cannery Row in Monterey (5 minutes away)and there is always something to do in Carmel and the surrounding areas. If you just want a beautiful and quiet getaway, it also provides that.
This home feels like a retreat where one can really rejuvenate! It has been a wonderful place to just 'hang out' or in which to entertain friends--whether from the Carmel area or the area of our primary residence. My children, who are now adults, also dearly enjoy using the home. We have often had family get-togethers in the Carmel home-bringing folks together from several areas. Everyone is always more than happy to go to Carmel!
What a delight to stay in your lovely home. We had a wonderful time. Most comfortable for all 8 of us. Hope some day to do this again!
We are minutes away from Monterey, including Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, the Aquarium, and its historic downtown buildings. Fishing and Whale Watching trips leave from the wharf several times per day.
You can walk to Pebble Beach Golf Course, whether for golf, or the many attractions such as the AT&T Pro-Am Golf Tournament, Concours d'Elegance, Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival and many more such events. You can enter by car at the Carmel gate to the fabulous and famous 17-mile drive.
Pacific Grove, with its uniquely Victorian architecture, interesting restaurants, antique stores and other shopping is also only minutes away.
The famous Big Sur area begins about 27 miles south of Carmel on Highway One, and is an absolutely magnificent drive. The River Inn (first establishment you encounter) has free live dixieland jazz on Sundays in the summer. You can also visit famous restaurants further down such as Ventana and Nepenthe, both with fabulous views!
A drive into Carmel Valley, which is both warmer and sunnier than the coast, is a lovely side trip, with other unique restaurants, wineries and wine tasting. This is just a few miles off of Highway One.
