The home in Bay St Louis, MS is approximately 50 miles east of New Orleans, LA and 25 miles west of the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport. Old Lazy River Road is a dead end with water on both sides. It ends at the bayou that connects to the Jordan River. The river flows into the Bay of Bay St Louis. The neighboring city to the east of the bay is Pass Christian. The bay is off the Mississippi Sound which has barrier Islands between it and the Gulf of Mexico. The area has good fishing for bass, red fish, speckled trout, shrimp, blue crab, etc. I have seen big tarpon in the lakes off the river about 2 miles (by water) north of the house off the Jordan River, just south of I10. These lakes are great for water skiing.
The home is about 4 miles south of I-10 and 4 miles north of the beaches on the sound and the Gulf of Mexico. The golf course at the Hollywood Casino is within 4 miles off Old Lazy River Rd. It is the Bridges Golf Course. It is an Arnold Palmer designed course. A very challenging golf course. Shopping at Walmart and K-mart as well as antique shopping is within 2 miles. Many good restaurants are in the area.
Had a wonderful Holiday Weekend with daughters, son n laws & grandsons. Deck accommodated our 3 boats. Easy to get to Jordan River, Bay or Gulf. House was nicely decorated & comfortable. Caught a couple crabs off deck. Didn't have internet password, which disappointed the grandchildren. A good time was had !! The view from upstairs is beautiful ! Would go back !! Owner easy to contact & speak with .
We (7 of us) came from Texas to Bay St. Louis for a family reunion. The place was exactly as described, very nice, quiet and clean. We didn't take advantage of any fishing or boating as there was not enough time but it was certainly there to enjoy. Our family reunion is an annual thing and we will certainly be staying here again. The owner was easy to work with, friendly and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend anyone staying here.
We had a nice time. Camp was clean, had access to Jourdan River by boat.
We stayed at this property over the Thanksgiving holidays. IT was easy to book, host was easy to communicate with, it was clean, kitchen had everything we needed, beautiful porch view.
Everything from the very comfy beds to the hot showers to the well equipped kitchen met all of our expectations & more. Very clean and well maintained. Hubby wanted a rental where he could walk out the door to fish - some days of fishing were better than others. We also drove to the bay & fished there as well. We highly recommend this rental!
This was such a nice place to rest and get away from pressures of daily life. It was very clean and beautifully decorated, which added to the serenity. Everything we needed was already there. The dock was where we spent most of our time. Very peaceful and quiet. Thank you!
Between the Jordan River 1 mile to the north, the Mississippi sound 4.5 miles to the south, Bay of St Louis 3 miles to the east and Hwy 603 one mile to the west.
