About Jennifer Taylor
Collage is not only my medium as an artist, it best describes my life. I've traveled extensively throughout the world and have lived in France, Spain and New York City. I have worked as a fashion model, singer/songwriter and now as a full time artist, working in my studio out on Gordon Lane. I've had a variety of exhibitions worldwide, exhibited at the United Nations building in New York and at the world renowned Museo Vittoriano in Rome, Italy. I've done installations for Gallagher's Art and Fashion Gallery in Manhattan, and for French designer Catherine Malandrino's Soho store. My works are in private collections throughout the world. I have been coming to Mendocino my whole life, at first to visit my Grandmother and now as a homeowner for the last 20 years. I love to introduce people to this beautiful and unique area and enjoy meeting people from around the world that come here to visit.
Jennifer Taylor purchased this studio in 1995
Why Jennifer Taylor chose Mendocino
I was looking for a forested piece of property where I could build a barnlike structure for my studio and also have a living space that would work well for a vacation rental. When I found these 5 acres so close to town, I knew I had found the perfect spot. As I do not live on the property, this works out really well, as I only work when then place is not rented.
What makes this studio unique
The proximity to Mendocino village, the privacy and total silence other than birds and the sound of the wind in the redwoods makes this place perfect for those that are seeking refuge. It instills creativity and thought, peace and harmony. From the front door you can walk through your own forest or go on a long walk down Gordon Lane and across State Park to the headlands.
