We rented the cottage for a girls winery weekend and it was perfect! Great location very close a few wineries. We had everything we needed at the cottage, everything was clean and we had plenty of linens, towels included for our stay. I will definitely be back soon!

Thanks again Elizabeth!

Saved Our Vacation!

When our reservations were unexpectedly cancelled, we scrambled to find accommodations. The host called back right away and was able to take us in the next day. The cottage was lovely...so quiet...adorable furnishings and screened back porch. We especially appreciated the air conditioning as the week was warm. Great Value....Highly Recommended!
Owner's Response: It was meant to be! We were so glad that we could help you with a last minute place to stay. The heat wave and the power outages from the big storm hit Virginia hard. We were happy to have your family in our cool and comfy cottage. I am glad you enjoyed your time in Charlottesville and that your vacation was saved. -- I hope we see you all again sometime soon.

Perfectly delightful!

A delightful long week-end for UVA Final Exercises 2012, thanks in many ways to our stay at Quandary Cottage. Perfectly clean and extremely comfortable, the cottage is the most welcoming and well-equipped self-catering accommodation we have ever enjoyed. Family gatherings in the private garden were superb, a large round table with fresh table linens under a canopy of old trees created a lovelier setting, we thought, than any restaurant in Charlottesville… a shiny new grill and bottles of excellent wine from the nearby vineyard helped to ensure some wonderful meals. The fresh fragrances of the Virginia countryside, the serene setting, the music of the birds and crickets and cicadas, bike rides along the idyllic country roads, reading on the comfy porches …. we couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful setting for our family holiday/graduation celebrations. Thank you, Matt and Elizabeth, for making it possible to share your lovely corner of the Charlottesville area.
Owner's Response: We were thrilled to be able to host you and your family for such a wonderful weekend full of celebrations. I am glad the table and linens we brought to the Cottage helped make your family party special. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. I am so happy that you enjoyed being outside under the trees and that you were able to sneak in a bike ride along Blenheim Road.

Matt and I hope to see you all again very soon. Maybe there's another 'Hoo in the family!

Our Stay

Submitted: September 7, 2011 Stayed: August 2011
We had a wonderful stay! The cottage is so quaint and cute. It was close to wineries, so we could easily take tours. The house was fully equipped for making dinners at night. And in the evenings were so peaceful just sitting out on the screened in porch. Elizabeth was so nice and the house was fully prepared in case we forgot anything, from shampoo to band-aids! Overall, it was an amazing stay and I would without a doubt stay here again!

Owner's Response: You're right, there are lots of beautiful wineries to visit. When you come the next time -- stop by the wine tasting room at the top of Carter's Mountain -- the view is breathtaking.

So glad the little supplies came in handy... you just never know when you will need a bandaid or bug spray.

See you again soon -- Elizabeth

We had a wonderful stay at Quandary Cottage last week. We didn't want to leave! The cottage is secluded, but an easy distance from Charlottesville and even closer to some fabulous vineyards and Monticello. The property is absolutely spotless and well appointed with dishes, sheets, and other necessities. Even with four of us we had plenty of room. Cosy and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again--it exceeded my expectations and Elizabeth, the owner, was prompt and helpful! Thanks again for a great stay!
