Villa Eleonora is named after the falcons that swoop over its elevated position, the unspoiled hill village of Glossa is only 5 minutes away with its shops and reputably one of the best restarants on the island. Its secluded location is private, despite its proximity to the beaches, the port of Loutarki, the Mamma Mia church and Glossa village, and the villa is not overlooked by anything but the beautiful birds and wildlife. The views are truly staggering, taking in the islands of Evvia, Skiathos and the Pelion, and away to the mainland as far as Mt Parnassus and closer to home down to the village of Glossa and its port of Loutraki

The modern villa itself is built in the traditional style of the island, with open-beamed ceilings of chestnut and pine, wooden balconies and tiled roofs, complemented by a modern clean touch and all up-to-date fittings and equipment. It is a truly unforgettable experience.

There are plenty of outside spaces, verandahs, terraces, tables, shaded areas and a barbecue/rotisserie to enjoy and eat alfresco in the wonderful climate of this Greek Island paradise.

Outside: The house has been specifically designed to offer guests the maximum benefit of outdoor living. The balcony runs along two sides of the house and faces South West. Measuring 3m wide at the front it provides a perfect space to entertain and dine al fresco whilst taking in the stunning view over Loutraki harbour and the bay beyond. There is a sizeable patio area on the ground floor level, complete with tables, chairs, awnings and sun loungers. The barbecue area is located to the rear of the house, and is replete with sink and fridge. The pergola style roofing, and soft outdoor furnishings allow for a cool and relaxed dining alternative when the sun is at its zenith!

The private swimming pool has wooden pool furniture and looks out over the bay below, measures 8x4m has marble steps leading down into it. It . It is enclosed by railings, with a latched gate to restrict access by underage children. The property itself extends to 1.5 acres set out in terraces, gardens and indigenous trees, and therefore provides guests with privacy and space.

Coast/Beach: Our nearest swimming beach is a ten minute drive from the house. It is a sheltered, sandy, clean and safe beach. This beach adjoins the village and is therefore close to amenities such as shops, and restaurants. There are scores of small, private beaches and coves that are ideal for bathing and picnics to be found on both sides of the island as close as ten minutes from the house.

The two local villages Glossa and Loutraki offer a wide range of amenities such as restaurants, bars, shops, bakeries, chemists and banks. Glossa has a good tourist information center.

The nearest medical centre is in Skopelos.

Both Glossa and Loutraki offer excellent local colour in the form of restaurants and tavernas. For those seeking the bright light Skopelos offers a vibrant night life.

The local restaurants have a great variety of mainly Greek food to offer. Whether you are looking for a quick snack or a full on meal the island will meet your needs.

Travel: Visitors to the island generally fly into neighbouring Skiathos, there are plenty of charter flights to skiathos during the summer. A five minute taxi from the airport will take you to the ferry/hydrofoil ticket office, which offers regular ferry/hydrofoil connections to Loutraki and takes no more than 30/20 minutes. The house is located fifteen minutes by car from Loutraki harbour where you will be met and brought to the villa. Car hire is recommended and can be organised prior to arrival.

Distances

Glossa (nearest village) - 5 minutes. Loutraki (village and beaches) - 15 minutes. Skopelos (principal town) - 45 minutes.

Hi I am from Ireland and have been coming to Skopelos since 2004. I have always enjoyed traveling and when I came to skopelos I liked it so much that when the opportunity came to build a villa here I seized it.

Why Shane Jackson chose Skopelos

The land on which Villa Eleonora is built is in a private location, off a road that meanders into the interior of the island which is mainly forested. There are no buildings beside the property or within sight in the immediate area. to The left of the property and at the front it is designated forestry and on the right and behind families farm vines and fruit trees. Its a peaceful, private and tranquil place that I am always eager to return to.

What makes this villa unique

I enjoy the Greek Island lifestyle, the people and the beauty that Skopelos gives to everyone. The villa enjoys literally breathtaking unspoilt views, of forest, sea, islands and the mainland beyond.

For walking or mountain biking it is perfect as there are tracks leading in different directions through the forest to both sides of the island whether it is to Agios Iannis the ‘Mamma Mia' church or to the other side of the island for the true adventurers. The village of Glossa is also very close by with various amenities including super markets and restaurants and ease of access to beaches nearby.

Getting away from it all

What a wonderful Villa on a beautiful and quiet Greek island. We rented the Villa for 8 days in October with another couple. The Villa had everything you need to relax and enjoy the essence of this wonderful location. October is the end of the season in this northern island so weather was a bit cooler and many businesses were closed for the winter, but we enjoyed the ease in getting around and the peace and quiet of the days. Shawn is a wonderful owner and went out of his way to ensure our needs were accommodated. Only challenge was the summer rains had damaged the narrow dirt road making it a bit challenging driving back and forth to town, especially in the evening. If you are looking for a quiet holiday with breathtaking views and a fully appointed modern Villa, this is your place.

The most beautiful and Relaxing place!

My first impression was the incredible view from this villa. The pictures are good, but the reality takes your breath away. Totally perfect for a getaway from it all. It has a gorgeous pool and open plan living space with lovely luxurious touches everywhere. You feel like you want to write a novel or just look at the Aegean all day. Skopelos is a wonderful place, but this house especially is a hidden gem. You cannot miss it, it has access to all the fun you want on the Island, but you can also just chill out and drink wine on the veranda and think how lucky you are to be there.

Villa Eleonorae is situated on the island of Skopelos famous for its greenness and blues seas. The villa rests on a hill side facing south west over looking the port of Loutraki and the islands beyond to the main land of Greece. The villa is surrounded by forests and country roads. Easter is a large festival here celebrated with religious festivals, community festivals and feasts of roasted goat and lamb. There is lots of traditional tavernas here and traditional Greek music, also reputably the best restaurant on the island. The area is very suitable for any body who enjoys nature, relaxing, mountain biking, birdwatching, walking, good food, tranquility and breathtaking views. There are many ancient and historical things to see on the island including ancient burial grounds, churches, icons, Roman and Byzantine artifacts, old traditional villages and architecture.

Other Activities: On Skopelos there is a great variety of birds, certainly enough to keep an avid twitcher happy.

My villa is in an ideal location for mountain biking as there are numerous tracks leading from the villa. These go through the mountains and along the coast. It suits all levels and bike hire can be arranged. Stand up paddle boarding is another new activity here which I have set up. It is well worth a go and its a great way to explore the island. Walking here is great fun, the island is many walks for all levels and lots of interesting historical and natural beauty to discover.

The remaining 75% of rental fee is due ten weeks before the occupation date. A reminder will be sent 14 weeks prior to arrival.
