My family and I have been enjoying the good life in the Turks and Caicos Islands since 1986. We are avid Scuba Divers and water sports enthusiasts. You will love the Turks and Caicos. I feel completely safe driving around in the Jeep with the top down 24 hours a day. The Grocery Store has everything you will ever need and the Restaurants are 5 Star. The beaches are rated among the best in the world and ocean is beautiful and clean. Your feet will love our white sand beaches and your body will love floating in the Ocean. The high salt content makes it very buoyant. Soak up the sun and enjoy our incredible sunsets.
Wayne Hall purchased this cottage in 2008
This is such a peaceful oasis! The canal is great for swimming and we love laying on the dock at night with a glass of wine and looking at the stars! The Canal leads to the south side of the island so we can park a boat at the dock. High elevation and nice tropical breeze. We love the architecture of the Wood Beamed Ceiling and Wrap around screened in Porch. We are in the Real Estate, Scuba Diving, Watersports and Hospitality Industries and love the location in central Provo, it is close to everything by car. Quick jot to airport, turtle cove marina, IGA, Grace Bay Beach, Nikki Beach in Leeward or Chalk Sound Sapidilla Bay Beach, Long Bay Beach, The Conch Shack Beach, or Malcolm Beach and so on. There is lots to see and do. We arrange airport transportation to the Villa where Wayne or Jocelyn will greet you and show you around the property. We will be happy to answer your questions prior to your arrival and during your stay.
50 Ft of waterfront. Dock with ladder for swimming. Outdoor Shower with shore power at dock. Very Private and tranquil property with .75 acres to unwind on. Enjoy the beautiful palm trees and sounds. Seadoo Boat Rental available with or without guide at an additional cost. Jeep Rental available at an additional cost. Explore the waters of TCI right from your dock down the canal to South Side Marina. Access to Cooper Jack Bay Beach, Long Bay Beach, Sapadilla Bay Beach, cut through Leeward and visit Little Water Cay Iguana National Park, Remote private beaches as far as Parrot Cay or Anchor off in Grace Bay. You can waterski, tube, take a cooler and relax wherever you want.
This is a beautiful property. My friend and went to Provo for a girls weekend on Mother's Day 2009. We rented the guest cottage and a Jeep. We travelled all around the island exploring. We bought groceries at IGA. We went for dinner at Grace Bay Club Grill, Mango Reef, Coco Bistro, Hemingways, The Conch Shack on Thursday Night, "The Full Moon Party" at Horse Eyed Jacks on Saturday Night, Ricky's Beach Bar on Sunday for Hobie Cat Sailing. We went Scuba Diving at Ocean Vibes with Wayne, Brigit, Kevin and Meghan and Riquez. We saw a hammerhead shark off French Cay. Unbelievable! 3 Spotted Eagle Rays swimming in formation off the wall at North West Point. Oceanvibles for all your diving needs. Great lunch and drinks provided. They also pick up from the guest cottage or your hotel. They also own Reef Peepers Glass Bottom Boat and Eagle Parasail. We made many friends and plan to come back early January with family and friends. The guest cottage and property are absolutley amazing. Perfect for 2. We went kayaking in the canal, watched the stars at night. Very peaceful. We made our breakfasts and lunches, packed our cooler, beach towel and bikini's and we were gone all day. Came back for a shower and went out all night. We cooked Lobster Tails one night on the barbecue mmmmmm melt in your mouth. Then we had lobster sandwiches to go the next day. We rented a car from Rent A Buggy which is right at Turtle Cove Drive and the Leeward Highway. They dropped us off at the airport.
My boyfriend & I stayed at the cottage for a week. The house is small but perfectly accommodates two (great for a couple's getaway).
- Centrally located--a short drive from everything on the island
- Screened-in porch with a table and chairs--perfect for evening drinks and meals
- Full kitchen, so you can save $ by eating in
- On a canal--the dock has a water trampoline and kayaks that you can use for free
- There is a shed that has bikes, fishing poles, beach chairs and umbrellas, and snorkel gear for you to use whenever you want
- Washer/dryer and clothesline
- Air conditioning unit works well and cools the entire space very quickly (we only used it when we slept)
- Bathroom is nice/a good size, but the shower stall is unbearably small; you can't step out of the water to wash yourself, shave your legs, etc.
- Ants in the kitchen, though if you've vacationed/lived anywhere else tropical, you know that's kind of unavoidable (they were super tiny and mostly not bothersome, unlike some other places we've been where they are monstrous and terrifying haha)
- The guest cottage is (obviously) right behind the main house, and the curtains are pretty sheer. We're not very modest, but wondered on multiple occasions whether the people in the main house could see into the bungalow when we got out of the shower/were getting dressed (probably)
- You share everything in the shed with the main house--there were 2 couples staying there while we were in the guest cottage, and on multiple occasions, they took all the beach chairs and umbrellas. (We brought our own snorkel gear, but wouldn't have gotten to use it very often if we were sharing it with them--I think they took it every day)
- There's no table/chairs inside, so you have to eat all meals outside--a few times after getting back from a long, hot day, we wished we could eat inside
- Grace Bay is only minutes away and hands down the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. You can snorkel right off the beach and it was virtually deserted almost every time we went
- There's a large grocery store close by (IGA I think), but if you stop at one of the smaller stores (there's one on the way to Taylor Bay/Sunset Beach) a lot of the prices are much lower
- Our one dining "must do": Las Brisas; the view & food were ridiculous
- DEFINITELY need a car; Avis is cheap
- Go to the conch museum!
- Long Beach is also a must-see
Definitely recommend staying here! So worth the (low low) price!
My wife and I just got back from 8 night at the sweet escape cottage and we had an amazing time.
First off the cottage was perfect for my wife and I. Plenty of space and the villa area was very nice. It was also nice being able to use the beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas that were available to us for no cost.
Katherin was simply amazing with her quick responses to everything. She was not even on the island but was setting us with taxi's and anything else we needed to make sure our trip and our trip home went smooth.
We loved Turks and Caicos. We snorkled in Grace Bay, Coral Gardens, and Smiths Reef. Our favorite spot was Taylor bay and we loved just sitting at this amazing beach.
We loved trying all the different restaurants that the island had to offer which made it really easy for us renting the Jeep through our Villa.
Definietely a 5 start Cottage for us. Very reasonable prices and perfect for what we needed. Ocean Vibes team was amazing and sooo helpful.
We had the best vacation ever! The cottage was great, exactly as pictured, nice and clean with everything we needed. We enjoyed leaving the sliding doors open with the gentle breezes coming in. We had coffee in the mornings and drinks on the lanai every night which was so relaxing. Katherine is great! She was very attentive to our every need and super helpful with suggestions on what to see and where to visit, etc. The jeep was an absolute must have!! We went everywhere with it! We also rented the jetski which was nice to have. We just went down to the dock and jumped on and went on the canal right into the ocean! We rented the boat for a week also and that was great for checking out the other islands and for fishing! We will definitely being going back and loved every second of it!
My husband and I stayed for a week and the Sweet Escape Cottage did not disappoint! It was beautiful, clean, well equipped and perfect for two. We enjoyed our coffee and breakfast every morning out on the screened in porch and, when we decided to BBQ for dinner instead of going out, candles and a little music set the mood for the evening. Every morning my husband would go down to the dock after breakfast and take one of the kayaks out, travelling up and down the canal.
The beaches of Provo are stunning. you can walk for miles and miles. We fell in love with Long Bay Beach and spent a lot of our time there; most times we were the only two people (along with our favourite "pot cake") on the entire beach!
Our favourite dining experience was at Coco Bistro for my birthday. The beautiful canopy of palm trees and romantic lighting made my birthday experience complete. The food was awesome and the service was impeccable.
Wayne was helpful in every way and if we had a question or concern, he was there to answer us - either with the cell phone that was provided for our stay, or in person. No inquiry was too trivial!
Katherine's Guide to the island was indispensable and never left the car!
We will be returning - no doubt about that! We will definitely be bringing friends and family with us next time - everyone should be so lucky to experience this piece of paradise.
We have found our "little slice of heaven" in the tropics! Our home away from home for years to come! This beautiful caribbean cottage is perfect. The caribbean wood beam vaulted ceiling adds so much character. High end italian porelain tiles and the pottery barn interior decorating create a really cozy, clean feel. It is very romantic with the patio doors open and the white linen curtains blowing in the breeze. There is a screened in porch with a table table and 3 chairs for dining and relaxing off the bedroom and on the other side here is a bbq deck and sitting area. The hammick under the palm tree out front was amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing. Good long siesta! The property is very large and well cared for. The dock area is beautiful with palm trees and flowering shrubs, a floating dock for easy access in and out of the water. Great place to float in the ocean and swim up and down the canal. We enjoyed kayaking in the canal. They also had a few TREK bikes so we went biking one day over to Turtle Cove and along the sidewalk back to "Somewhere on the Beach" at Coral Gardens where you can snorkel, grab a bite, tropical drink and spend the day. We enjoyed several amazing restaurants and the people are so freindly. Katherine prepared a Guest Directory to take in the Jeep with us. It was our personal GUIDE to the Island. We really got to know the island during our 14 days at Sweet Escape. Wayne is very charismatic and happy to answer our questions anytime we gave him a call. He has a watersports company so we booked a romantic champagne sunset cruise on his 50Ft Sail Catamaran via www.oceanvibes.com. We got picked up at the beach by The Sands Resort and sailed across Grace Bay. They served Cracked Conch, conch fritters, conch fingers, chicken fingers and wings. Chips and Salsa, Rum Punch, Champagne, red and white wine, beer. The music was amazing. The Captain and staff were really energetic. It was a great way to see the coastline, reef system, real estate and sail away into the sunset. We are scuba divers as well so we enjoyed a 2 tank dive with oceanvibes on the wednesday. 8:30 to 1:30, really nice spacious dive boat, great equipment and really fun captain and crew, amazing wall dive with lots of fantastic marine life. Thanks to everyone at Sweet Escape and Ocean Vibes for making us feel at home! This is new home away from home! Highly recommend the guest cottage and oceanvibes for your excursions. See ya in the wineter
We stayed at the Cottage from 4/13/3012 - 4/20-2012 and it was as expected. The listing on VRBO is absolutely correct and list all the facts. We also rented a Jeep from the owner and I must say if you are debating between resort or a private rental stay, I will suggest to go with a rental. This cottage is enough for 2 adults but not more than that. Kitchen is fully equipped and Provo being an expensive destination, we did use the kitchen for morning coffee and breakfast. Overall a great stay and would recommend it as for the price, you cannot go wrong.
About Provo - Absolutely loved the place. You have to be there to believe it and do not restrict yourself from just the resorts. Explore the island and eat anywhere. It is very safe to drive. We did our basic grocery from IGA and Graceway Gourmet (IGA is a bit cheaper) and about a 5 minutes drive from this cottage. We highly recommend driving to Taylor Bay and Long Bay Beach. The water is usually great at Taylor Bay between 9:00 am - noon/1:00 P.M and then good at Grace Bay from noon - 4 PM.
Dining - Highly recommend Las Brisas in Chalk Sound (5 mins from Taylor Bay), Mango reef at the Alexendra, Smoky's - a local joint by Beaches resort and the Indian Place Garam Masala. All meals were great.
Exploring - If you have time and willing to spend some money, take a ferry to North Caicos and rent a car. Ferry is $50 round trip per person and about $85 for a rental for a day. Its deserted and really undeveloped. You will go through bad roads but at the end if you make it to Middle Caicos, the reward is worth it. Sites at Blue Horizon Resort are great and Bambarra Beach is amazing. Absolutely great beach and water is amazing. Other than these two places, there is not much to explore. Food at Daniels in Middle Caicos is to die for. Just make sure you fill p enough gas in North Caicos before to start exploring as there are no gas stations in Middle Caicos. Overall, a great trip.
Can't wait to go back to Provo....
