Good Experience

My family and I stayed at this property for three nights, and the experience was good. The condo itself was clean and well maintained and very comfortable. The people were friendly and helpful. The building in which the condo is located however definitely needs updated. The elevators frequently broke down and stairs were hard to access.
The condo is located on the beach however you have to walk across the patio, through a hallway, down the elevator, out to a sidewalk that leads to 2 flights of stairs to actually get on the beach. So that was a little misleading.
Overall though the experience was a good one. My four teenagers were very pleased with the free beach cruiser bikes that were provided. Also the furnishings were comfortable and the condo was spacious and clean. And had a nice flat screen tv.
For those who have not been to San Diego such as ourselves, be prepared that the beaches are very full of kelp, or seaweed. We were not expecting this.
The pier is located right next door and was great for watching fisherman, sunsets and sea lions. Fishing pole and bait rentals were very reasonable and located right on the pier.
I would recommend this condo, however keep in mind the beach access and the kelp were a little disappointing.
Very nice people to work with though, and a good property. We had a great time!

Owner's Response: Glad to see you gave our unit 4/5 stars! I was not aware that there was an elevator breakdown until I saw your post. We try very hard to address any concerns someone has while they are staying in the unit, but I will bring the matter of the elevators to the attention of the Board of Directors of the HOA.
Also, I generally try to be very clear that access to the boardwalk is only from the north and south secure entrances and the gated garage which helps to ensure that only guests and residents of the building have access to the common courtyard and other amenities that the building offers (i.e. the sauna, hot tub, laundry facilities, etc.).
We do also rely on the pictures of our unit that are on our dedicated website http://vacationbeachrental.com (which is part of my signature on all email communications). There are 3 pictures on the site showing the stairs to the beach and one picture of our building from the end of Crystal Pier that displays our boardwalk elevation as being the same as that of Crystal Pier.
As for the kelp and seaweed, its just one of those things that comes with San Diego being near large kelp beds that can grow up to a foot a day. They do have heavy duty equipment that moves the kelp each morning, but there is an ecosystem balance that they need to maintain.
Glad that overall, you were satisfied with your trip and hope you will consider staying with us again if your travels bring you to San Diego again!
