Georgeous!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip up to Pittsburg and I don't think we could have picked a better spot than the Ambrose Lodge! The place is georgeous. After a day of snowmobiling, it was a lovely house to come back to with incredible views. It was so cozy it felt like being at home...We can't wait to go back next year!!

Winter Wonderland...great snowmobiling...views

  • 5 of 5

A Winter getaway that exceeded all our expectations. Ambrose Lodge is a rare spot where our meet our friends to snowmobile and relax enjoying the views out every window. It is so very peaceful sitting in the living room having the view of the lake and the forest lands without another house across the water.

We had the best of both worlds eating in and being able to walk to Murphy's steak house for a delightful meal. Many thanks for all the little extras like the games, puzzles and the internet for those of us that need to be connected.

We will return again and again. Our friends now want to come for a summer getaway. Thanks again for sharing your lodge in the Great North Woods.

Absolutely Perfect for hunting and fishing

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Ambrose Lodge. A group of us stayed there in May 2014 for a fishing weekend, and again in November for a week of hunting. We couldn't have been happier with our stays! For fishing it was great to just leave right from the cabin and fish all day, and the Salmon and Lake Trout were unbelievable! It was comfortable with a larger group, and easy to fit all our gear etc. with plenty of room to move around. In November we stayed for 6 days, and again, it was amazing! One deer came back with us, and we had a blast relaxing in the beautiful cabin and cooking after long days in the woods.

The cabin is in a perfect location, incredibly well maintained and decorated, and just a great time no matter what you are in town for. The convenience of having Treats and Treasures General Store and Gift Shop right at the entrance to the road is a HUGE help They have everything you need a minute away, and the best breakfast sandwiches on the planet.

We will be back again this year for both trips and can't wait. We've stayed at a lot of cabins in Pittsburg over the years, and this is hands down the best in Pittsburg!

Owner's Response: I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stays for hunting and fishing and look forward to your return this May.I know how much you all appreciate the beauty and seclusion of the North Woods and waking up to our lakeside wilderness views. We are very blessed to have had this land in our family and have enjoyed sharing it with our terrific guests. Say hello to the rest of the "A" team for me and good luck with the salmon this year. Kindest regards, Pamela

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous, relaxing, romantic setting! The Ambrose lodge is the perfect get away for a second honeymoon, or a fun vacation spot with the family. The lodge was very clean and organized, warm and inviting. For all of you "techies" worried about the lack thereof cell service, not to worry! The hypnotic motion of the waves on the lake will surpass your time.

For more of the family time aspects of the lodge, we had a great time having a snowball fight, sledding, playing near the lake, cooking, games, and puzzles. ( for those who like a challenge try the 9 piece moose puzzle) :)

I can't wait to go back as soon as we can get time off, and I would recommend to everyone!

Another stay at Ambrose Lodge!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 4th year spending our vacation at Ambrose Lodge! To say that this home is amazing would be an understatement! Everything about this home is wonderful! It is inviting and warm and cozy! We spend the entire month of October at Ambrose Lodge, and even after a month of being there, it is still hard to leave! The location is perfect, the house is fully stocked with everything you need! The privacy the house offers is wonderful! To our family, it is like coming home! Pamela is so wonderful to talk to! By now, 4 years later, she's a friend! If you need a wonderful place to spend your vacation in Pittsburg, it's Ambrose Lodge!

It's magical

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Ambrose Lodge and we've already booked the third. This is simply, hands down, the best Home Away property I've ever rented. It is clean and beautifully appointed. The setup is perfect for our three generations. And the view... what can I say except that it is what dreams are made of.

The Great North Woods offers so much for a family to do: hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, trips to Canada, some great restaurants, peace and tranquility, and - most of all - some memorable bonding moments. Can't wait till next year!
