Indoors guests find many unique and well-appointed amenities. Sleep and relax in any of 3 Master Suites on the main level one of which is wheelchair friendly. We have crafted ramps and widened doorways to make the deck and main floor of the Lodge accessible, so everyone is included. Children and families love staying together in the 3 bunk-rooms upstairs. The Lodge sleep 24+ and the exterior bunkhouses sleep an additional 5 in temperate weather.
The gourmet kitchen's treasure is its Aga 4 Oven Cookstove, popular in Europe, and so versatile when cooking for a crowd. The 20’ vaulted great room invites all with its 16’ stone fireplace, gas logs and stylishly comfortable western décor. The adjacent den offers a large screen satellite TV, DVD player, book library and board games. It is a great place for the little ones to play while you keep an eye on them, or shut the doors, and create your own reading nook, movie room or nap site.
On the lower level, guests enjoy a very casual theater/bar and adjoining game room. You’ll appreciate another large screen satellite TV, DVD Player and XBox (with game CD’s). ?Gas logs keep you cozy and the enormous teak root bar and game room provide great spaces to gather together for hours of fun. Entertain yourselves in the game room at the poker/bumper pool table or regulation pool table. Full laundry facilities, ½ bath, portable phone, stereo system, board games and extra refrigerator are found on this level.
On the property you will find a large, flat grassy area, perfect for sports, a stone fire pit encircled by rustic bench seating, and acres of varied forest terrain to climb and explore. Two air-conditioned bunkhouses (the Arbor Knot and Hornet’s Nest), located within sight of Rivers Ridge Lodge, provide a fun hangout for sleeping, etc.
The deck offers 5000 SF of marvelous alfresco space. A covered gazebo at the far corner of the deck overhangs the river and is ideal for formally exchanging vows or relaxing in the shade. Enjoy the seating for 38 available on the deck with 24 of those seats surrounding circular tables for casual outdoor dining. Soak in the hot tub, sun on the chaise lounge chairs or fire up the gas grill and cook that fish you just pulled from the river.
Very private yet within 5 minutes of Interstate 40 (Exit 75), Rivers Ridge Lodge is an ideal spot for year-round vacations and retreats. Popular day trips include: Pisgah National Forest, within minutes; Black Mountain, 10 minutes; Blue Ridge Parkway, 12 min; Lake James, Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock, 20 minutes; Asheville, 25 min; Linville Caverns, 40 minutes; Sugar and Beech Mountain (skiing,) 60-70 min.
