LUXURY OCEANFRONT VILLA WITH PRIVATE POOL ON SPECTACULAR DIVING SPOT!

What a vacation! We are so grateful to the owner of the exquisite Villa Salentein, Annemieke van der Mast, for an A++++ vacation! We don’t often write reviews, but feel compelled due to the exceptional experience our family just enjoyed in Bonaire. Mind you, we had been to Bonaire only once before in February of 2011 and stayed at a place which was average at best. While there, we snooped around the island and discovered the gem called Villa Salentein. We excitedly recruited 8 other family members to join us and planned a trip for December of 2011.

We were nervous, being from the States and not knowing the ropes. We were also anxious that the Villa couldn’t possibly live up to the expectations from the outstanding photos on the web site. Well, our experience exceeded all expectations!

It all started with a lovely greeting and orientation from Iris, who enthusiastically and patiently explained the Dutch instructions on all appliances and made us feel so welcome. Then the property Manager Femke graced us with a personal visit and an orientation of the island. We peppered Femke with questions and she responded happily to all inquiries, and made sure we were delighted with everything (we were!). Femke had previously readied the Villa, stocking it with a long list of grocery items that we had requested – thank you, Femke!

We were awed stepping into this gorgeous, romantic and cozy Villa. The view was jaw-dropping! The master suite was extravagant and all other bedrooms very lovely. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we all loved the special gathering areas for talking and eating. It was spotless, airy and beautifully designed. We appreciated every inch of this place!

Perhaps the highlight was diving from our sofas! All ten of us are scuba enthusiasts, and we were able to use the ladder off the front of the property for our best dives arguably on the island! Several of us did the dive several times, sometimes during the day and other times at night and it was spectacular. Femke had arranged for an area to rinse our dive gear which worked beautifully.

We left with incredible memories which we will cherish forever, and are already booking our return!

Our family of 10, the youngest 15 the oldest in her 70's, spent a week at Salentein. The property was clean, well-maintained and the customer service was first rate. A car to and from the airport was arranged, Femke met us at the villa for a walk through. There was a fabulous spread for breakfast and a very nice welcome gift. We had one issue with the dishwasher but it was addressed straight away. The villa itself sits in the wind so there was always a breeze on the patio, which is where everyone spent their down time. We snorkeled and dove right off the villa including one night dive. The kitchen is a bit small but we did just fine. Overall, a very relaxing time. I would recommend this villa to families or couples but not those with very small children, only because of the raised patio without a rail. We will certainly consider the other villas they have because of the villa quality, and especially, the customer service. We left very satisfied.

a sincere thank you for a truly memorable anniversary. We are still overwhelmed by this perfect vacation with our children. Everything was arranged just as we liked. You have understood perfectly, the atmosphere we desired for this special week. Also a big thank you to Philip and Suze, for the fantastic dinner arrangements.
