Overview

Breckenridge Peak 9 Condo Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8)

What enchanted us about this condo was its peaceful wooded setting by the Blue River. It is a second-floor corner unit, quiet and private, close enough to the ground to hear the river and high enough to have a spectacular view of the snow on the pine trees.

In the winter, sit in front of the fireplace and watch the snow falling on the pines outside your window after a day of breath-taking skiing. In the summer, sip a glass of wine on the balcony off the living room as you listen to the rushing sounds of the Blue River nearby and relax after a day of playing in beautiful Colorado. Or just curl up with a book or a movie in the bright and sunny living room.

This cheerful and spacious 1,600 sq. ft. unit has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and is just 150 yards from the Quicksilver chairlift at Peak Nine base, a five-minute walk from Main Street and the heart of Breckenridge, and is surrounded by miles of skiing, hiking and biking trails.

Why the Owner Chose Powderhorn: We picked Breckenridge and this particular property for a number of reasons. We live in Boulder, Colorado, so Breckenridge is conveniently located--we can be there in less than two hours. We were there in the summer of 1996 and stayed at a place near the Blue River. It was a typical Colorado day--the sun was shining, the sky was blue, it was hot but without the humidity that plagues so many other states--and we thought: Wouldn't it be nice to have a place here. The rest is history!

Our condo at Powderhorn is right next to the Blue River, so in the summer we can leave the doors of our deck off the master bedroom open and go to sleep to the sound of the river gurgling beneath us.

Why the Owner Chose Powderhorn (continued): Powderhorn is also adjacent to the Peak 9 Quicksilver lift, so an easy ski-in ski-out for DeWitt. Sandra, who does not ski, likes the fact that in less than 5 minutes on foot she can be in town. Of the various ski towns within two hours of Denver, Breckenridge is by far the largest and the one with the richest history. So after a hard day of skiing or biking we can enjoy some truly outstanding restaurants.

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium: In the winter, skiing, of course, is the primary activity. In the summer we enjoy biking and hiking. There are miles of trails in all directions. The ambitious biker can even bike to Vail!

And the condo is large enough that it feels like a real home. It is 1600 sq. ft. with a huge living/dining area, a deck that can comfortably seat 4, and a large kitchen for those who love to cook. City Market, which is affiliated with Kroger and King Soopers, is close by and a great resource for good groceries. And there are some great restaurants that we would be happy to recommend. Oh, and don't forget to ask us about the best bran muffin . . . !

About Sandra

We are retired and love to travel. When we travel we almost always stay at Bed and Breakfasts because we enjoy the personal touches that each place offers to the cold anonymity of most hotel rooms. That is why we have decorated our condo in warm and vibrant Mediterranean colours and have hung family and travel photos on our walls.

Sandra purchased this condo in 1996

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Sandra

We had a great time and would like to thank you for the use of your condo. I can’t say that we are big night life people and we didn’t go out much (we did go to Mi Casa and Crepes a la Carte). There was always a long line at the crepe place but it moved quickly. Since we were at Breckenridge after Christmas we were one of the first people to inaugurate Peak 6. We also went snowmobiling in a snowstorm under whiteout conditions to Chicago Peak (we were on the peak but couldn’t see more than 10 feet). We also went dog sledding --- now everyone wants to adopt a Huskie.

We had a great time and we would all like to do it again.

Perfect Breckenridge condo

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Breckenridge feb 2015 with a group of 3 couples (all of us are in our 30's). We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Powderhorn condo. The location is perfect for walking to the quicksilver lift or to main street for dinner/drinks at night. We rented a car but never used it because the condo is so close to everything you need. (i guess if the weather was really cold or wet you'd need to drive)

The condo is clean, and spacious. The pictures make it seem a little small, but we were pleasantly surprised at how big the condo is when we checked in. Its quiet and i don't think we even heard the neighbors while we were there. Having humidifiers in each room was an added bonus (we are from FL and the air is MUCH drier in Breck). Needless to say, we used them every night. Having a gas fire pace was amazing after a long day of boarding. Walking to the hot tubs isn't far, its just across the street. They get a little full, but there a few inside and outside.

Just outside the condo are walking paths and trails you can take for a mini hike, and with the lifts so close you can be the first ones up the mountain in the morning. Its a short walk to the shops at the maggie and village for rentals. It was very easy to get our gear and return it.

The check in process is friendly, easy and hassle free. The owners were great with communication prior to our arrival and after our departure. Overall, you really can't ask for more. thank you, if we come back to Breck we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Great weekend

  • 4 of 5

Sandra's condo was the perfect size for our family of 5. The three boys had enough space to move around, it was very clean and convenient to skiing and town. I think we got the last skis at Christy Sports in the Village on a very busy weekend and we were all very pleased. We had a really special dinner at Swiss Haven, the fondue was perfect. Our only negative was that our rental SUV had a ski rack attached to the roof and we found out too late that it would not fit into the extremely low garage. Eeks! All in all, a really spectacular weekend in a fabulous condominium. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: What a shame about the garage. I have to confess that we have not once but TWICE driven into garages with bikes on the roof of the car! Other than that, I'm so glad that you had a good time and that you got to ski in fresh powder!

Great accommodations, wonderful owner, fantastic trip

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Sandra's place for a third time this past January and it was perfect as usual. The condo is large and comfortably appointed, with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, humidifiers in each room for that dry Breck air, and tons of towels so that there are plenty to shower with as well as use after the hot tub.

We walked to the base of 9 to start each day, and walked to town each night. We love some of our tried & true restaurants, but also enjoyed a couple of new places that were terrific.

The condo is exceptionally quiet, and super-clean, both of which add to making it a great base for a fun long weekend (or longer). We'll be back!

Great Ski Vacation, with Front Row Seats to the Fireworks!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect for our family of 6 to ski at Breckenridge! The location was excellent... just a short walk to the Quicksilver Lift and the Ski School! Breck is so good about using online booking that we never had to wait in line for our tickets. The condo was very well equipped for a ski vacation and it's location on the 2nd floor made it easily accessible with our equipment, but with a nice view! Absolutely perfect!

The best surprise was that we had a front-row seat for the New Year's Eve fireworks from the bedroom balcony. My young boys and I loved it!

One final comment, the owner was very responsive to all questions and I felt like I knew all I needed to know before arriving at the condo.

Thank you!

Great condo, close to everything..

  • 5 of 5

The property was wonderful. First the location is wonderful. Just five minutes walking and your at the slopes or all the shops and restaurants. Next there is a pool nearby shared by all the condominiums which was a big hit with the kids. And the condo itself was very spacious, especially the master bedroom. Would love to go back again.

Perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay in this beautiful condo. In many ways, that says it all! The condo is quite large and has a wonderful sense of privacy. It easily accommodates 6-8 people. This time we shared with another couple. The men went skiing and the ladies explored the town. All had a perfect getaway without ever getting in a car. Thank you for sharing your home.
