This posting pertains to Unit A at Beargrass. The Lodge was built in 2004 by the owners of Unit A. We are located on Parallel Run Road, 1/2 mile from the ski lifts at Schweitzer Mtn. Resort. Schweitzer is 11 miles from the town of Sandpoint. Beargrass is not considered ski-in / ski-out, but it is an easy walk to Schweitzer Village. During peak periods, you can catch a shuttle bus at the end of our driveway and it will take you right to the Village.
Unit A is one unit that can be broken up into 3 different configurations.
Configuration A: 2 BR/2 BA sleeps 4+
Configuration B: 3 BR/2 BA, sleeps 8+ (listed in THIS AD )
Configuration C: 4 BR/3 BA, sleeps 14+ - This configuration has limited availability during the ski season, but is available during the summer months. It has an additional kitchen, deck, TV and fireplace.
There is also a heated 1-car garage. The kitchen is well outfitted. All the pots, pans and utensils that you would ever need are there. Its the perfect place for hosting a family gathering in the midst of a recreation mecca.
The warm cozy interior is finished with knotty Alder cabinets and trim. There is a gas fireplace to heat you up after a cold day on the hill. The large dining table on the main floor will seat 10. You will love our heated floors!
For your convenience there is Wi-Fi (Wireless Internet), all linens are furnished and there are even videos and CD's for your enjoyment.
There is also a shared hot tub onsite, call or write to check on availability of this feature.

'Wow, this place is amazing. Your home has everything we were looking for. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay. There were 8 of us staying here and there was plenty of room for everyone. I hope to make it back next year. This is up there with one of the best ski trips I have been on. Reserve today - don't wait!
My wife, brother, sister-in-law and I built Beargrass Lodge in 2004. We live in Oregon and my brother lives in Eastern Washington. Schweitzer has been our place for wintertime fun since the 1970's. I am an architect and my wife is an admin assistant.

Schweitzer is a growing 4-season resort. The skiing is excellent and the property around the resort is privately held.
Although skiing is what Schweitzer is best known for, it is truly a 4-season resort. In the winter, there is 2800 acres of terrain to explore on your skis. There is also tubing and snowshoe trails. In the summer, you have Lake Pend Orielle. . . one of the largest in the Western United States. Silverwood theme park is located 40 miles South of Beargrass. (1 hr away)
We stayed here for 2 nights after New Years and rented the 2-bed, 2-bath configuration for 5 of us (2 couples and a 6-year-old). This place was amazing! Beautiful views, comfortable beds and couches, lots of space to relax & eat. I wish I could post a picture here - really a million-dollar view from every window! We ate dinner here one of the nights & had plenty of pots, pans, dishware, etc. Well stocked place with tons of games & movies to keep anyone occupied (if the view & sitting in front of the gas fireplace and relaxing isn't enough to keep you from getting bored). We didn't use the (shared outdoor) hot tub on the top floor due to the extremely cold weather, but it looked really clean & large. It was easy to call the shuttle to get us to the ski hill - probably about a 20-minute wait, but less than a 5 minute drive to actually get there. The owner was extremely easy to get a hold of and very accessible to ask questions via phone and e-mail. We hope to stay here again in the future - hopefully longer next time!
We are thrilled with our selection! Over the 4th of July each year, we meet a group of friends at a different location. This year, we selected Schweitzer Mountain. The condo is very well laid out and is bigger than it looks in these photos. We shared Beargrass with another couple for two nights and then had the condo to ourselves for the rest of the trip with our two small children. The rooms are on either side of the living area so you have some privacy if needed but not too seperate if you have small children. I couldn't tell how the bunk room worked from pictures (states its through a "semi-private stairway" downstairs) so we opted not to use it but it would work great for overflow with older children and is really just downstairs.
The layout was so great, that all evening meals happened at our condo, despite there being 4 other locations to have dinner. Nice open kitchen, living room and kitchen had everything we could need. Condo is beautiful, nice granite countertops, plenty of space for our family and group as a whole. We hope to come back and use this rental again! Owner was really great to deal with as well. All in all a great experience!
Have rented this property 2 Christmas/New Year's holidays, '12&'13. Our family's(+) choice for the perfect winter vacation! A wonderful holiday atmosphere welcomes us - Christmas tree, window & fireplace lights! With well-supplied kitchen & deck gas grill, traditional holiday & family meals easily happen. The entertainment system is put to full use for following favorite sports teams, watching movies & electronic gaming. There's plenty comfortable space for playing cards, board games or quiet reading. Immaculately clean living space, appliances, bathrooms; comfortable beds, useable 1-car garage & snow equipment storage; additional outside parking space. The hot tub is great! The laundry facilities a must for our numbers & longer stays. Not a problem with not being 'ski-in-ski-out' with the courteous free shuttle. Even though multiple units, noise never an issue. We had all we needed with this as our home-base for recreating at Schweitzer Mtn. Would highly recommend!
This condo was wonderful, great location, spacious and had all the amenities one could need for a long weekend. Great location & nice neighbors. The owners were also very helpful throughout the booking process.
The Beargrass lodge was beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed for 14 people. The views were lovely even in the summer. The kids loved the foosball table, the selection of movies and the beds in the wall. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Silverwood.
We have stayed at the Beargrass Lodge 4 to 5 times in the summer (we aren't skiers) as a base for a visit to Silverwood. The kids love the mountain and Lake Pend Oreille just as much; in fact, we often play on the mountain for a day before going to Silverwood. It was nice to see that the entertainment center had been upgraded prior to this most recent visit. The condo is always clean and well-maintained. If you are renting both levels, it's nice to shut the kids away in the basement so that adults can have quiet time. Highly recommended. I'd give it a sixth star, if I could.
Beargrass is located at the 4600' level. Roughly even with the Village at Schweitzer. We are located .5 miles from the Village and 11 miles from Sandpoint where all most general services are located. Snow skiing and riding are the main attaction in the winter, boating and Silverwood Theme park are just some of the attractions that are available in the summer.
