Great Vacation at Hale He'e Nalu

We travelled with another couple and had a great stay at the home. The location was great as it was right across from the ocean so we could sit out on the lanai, enjoy our morning Kona java and watch the surfers. The kitchen was well appointed and the beds were comfortable and it was nice for each couple to have their own bathroom and shower. There was a hose outside to wash away the beach sand and we made good use of the boogie boards! The house is conveniently located on Alli Drive which is full of shops and some great restaurants and places to enjoy a Mai Tai or cold beer after a day at the beach. We used the charcoal BBQ a few nights to cook up some Mahi Mahi and burgers. We recommend Humpy's if you arrive late (after 10 p.m.) and they have great pizza and burgers. Lulus is another great casual place and the hotels along Alii have some fine dining. There is so much to do in Kona right in the area but we made sure we toured the entire island. Kona is for sure the nicest weather and much drier than the Hilo side. The air conditioners in the bedrooms were a plus and we turned them off in the evening and the breeze was adequate to keep them cool through the night. Despite the convenient location on Alii drive the house is quiet and you only hear some traffic if you choose to keep your windows open in the morning. The feather couch in the living room was a plus to enjoy some late night DVD movies and the blender was appreciated to make our Pina Coladas and chi-chis.
I hope we can return soon, loved the home and all that Kona has to offer...great beaches, snorkelling, kayaking, dining and entertainment.
