We are a family who enjoys hiking in scenic areas. Utah for us is like heaven and a good place to spend good quality family time. Purchasing a vacation home there is one of the best things we have done. My family can now go there and stay in a beautiful home and make day trips to all the local parks and attractions.
Susan purchased this house in 2009
While traveling to Zion my family and I stayed in a home off the VRBO listing in Zion. I have a large family and the home experience was wonderful. We were able to travel to many destinations and come home and relax and cook and the kids could play. We love to hike and find Utah to be extremely amazing. Therefore we bought a home for larger gatherings so people could relax and enjoy the parks experience as we did.
Our home is located 10 minutes outside the East entrance or exit of Zion National Park. From the house there are many attraction within travelling distance. (Bryce Canyon, Lake Powell, Zion, Grand Canyon to name a few). The house is large with 8 bedrooms and sleeps 36 comfortably. There is a large kitchen with high end appliances, sub zero and and extra refrigerator, home theatre room with leather recliner chairs and Four car garage on an acre.
I went to Zion for a vacation retreat with my work. We stayed for five days at the amazing home of Susan. My group and I checked into the Ponderosa ranch for trails to hike from the house. We were able to do a 9 mile hike from the ponderosa and drop down into Zion National Park at the Lodge. We were able to work it out with the Ponderosa Ranch for a fee that they would send a van to pick us up. The hike was one of the most amazing ways to enter the park from up above. Each one of us were amazed by the scenery, the wildlife and the challenge of the hike.
When were we back at the house, we all enjoyed a soak in the hot tub, a refreshment and a good BBQ.
The house is very beautiful and the beds are so comfortable. We will definitely come back for a week of hiking. Great house for our crowd.
We loved our 3 days at this Majestic Home for our family of children and grandchildren of all ages--40 in number. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen area was large, fully equipped, which made it easy to prepare meals. There were plenty of spaces to eat both in the home and out on the large decks. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The grandchildren enjoyed the large room with the 6 bunk beds and thought they were in heaven with the movie theatre. Since the location was just a few miles from Zions Nat'l Park, our children and grandchildren went each day into the park to hike. It was spectacular. I have no hesitancy to recommend this lovely spot to anyone.
We rented this home for 3 days in July, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The house is located at high elevation (6000') so it stays relatively cool, even during a hot summer day. The home is in excellent shape, and our grandchildren loved the drinking fountains and the luxurious theater room! We took trips to Zion Canyon and the Coral Pink Sand Dunes just a short drive away. We had 30 guests in our party, and never felt close to being crowded. The home is well maintained and in excellent shape.
We recently spent the Christmas holiday at this magnificent home. It was such an enjoyable time and we particularly appreciated the fact that the home was so spacious. With our group of 23 people it was so wonderful to have 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers and to be able to seat everyone for meals. The theater was also a highlight. We did have a problem with the hot water the first day but the local property manager took care of the problem with great care and was helpful in many ways. We would definitely recommend this property to others and will likely rent it again.
The accommodations could not have been better for us! 9 adults and 7 children (ages 3-11). The kids enjoyed "movie night" in the theater. Most the breakfasts, lunches and 3 of the dinners were cooked and eaten here in the well equipped kitchen. The beautifully decorated home was large enough where we were not on top of each other. We enjoyed sitting on the deck looking up at the dark night skies and relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking in Zion. The kids really enjoyed taking advantage the activities offered at the near by Ponderosa Ranch Resort, especially the swimming, mini golf, zip lining, and pony rides. After venturing around Zion and taking day trips to Bryce Canyon and Glen Canyon it was nice to "come home" and really be able to relax and in such a comfortable and beautiful home. The best restaurant in the area was at Zion Mountain Ranch (about 3 miles east on hwy 9 and reservations are highly recommended).
Although I contacted Ponderosa prior to arriving and they indicated we would be treated as if it were rented through them, except that the swimming would be a additional cost, when we arrived and were prepared to pay the additional amount, Kylie at the Ponderosa desk said that we would be treated as if we were Ponderosa guests and were given free wrist bands for the swimming pool and the other activities which are free to Ponderosa guests.
Our family of 31 stayed in the home over a 4 day weekend. We had 12 adults and 19 children. There was plenty of space for us to spread out. We found the home to be clean and well kept. Someone checked on us to make sure everything was working fine. We were thrilled with the amenities of the home, from the theater room to the hot tub, giant pantry, bunk room, ATV trails, and fire pit. The availability of the Zion Ponderosa Ranch was a big plus. The kids had a great time there for an entire day. It was very close to Zion's Park. It is not close to any grocery stores or restaurants, but that was not a problem for us. Our family tries to make a trip like this yearly, and we have stayed in some very nice places, but everyone commented that this was one of the best we have stayed at.
