Family Fun

Yea, we have booked again this year! The family is so excited to be returning to this amazing cottage. As described it has such incredible character and the location is perfect. You take a dozen steps from the front porch and you are in the cleanest, clearest lake in the Adirondack Mountains. What I really enjoyed most was becoming reacquainted with my brother, each morning we would wake early and kayak around the misty lake. It was so quite, all you heard were the loons. It was nice just spending time with family without any interruptions from the outside world, no cell phones ringing; no emails to check, and no place that we had to be. In the cabin there was a sign that read; “In the Mountains You Forget to Count the Days”, how true that was. On this lake everyone takes their motorized raft to the sandbar, (true social networking). People you have never met will have you engaged in some sort of activity; this is such a unique experience, kind of like tailgating on water. My parents said it was like years ago when you met people camping and before you knew it your shared camp fires became a lifelong friendship. When we booked we were informed that the owners have put in a new kitchen and bathroom, we are dying to see it. You can tell that they love the place and that they want us to love it as well. It would be hard to come up with a suggestion for them to improve the cottage as it’s so special already and very well equipped. The hot tub is awesome; it’s a wood burning cedar soaking tub. When you start dinner you also start the fire for the hot tub and fill it with water, and when you walk home from the pub the tub is hot and inviting. Without jets you can really enjoy the sounds of your surrounding; birds, owls, loons, other camps having bomb fires and families laughing together. The smell of the cedar and the smoke smell from the fire are wonderful. The hot tub is also just a few steps from the lake so after you jump out of the hot tub it’s best to jump straight into the lake, talk about refreshing. The whole property is surrounded by trees; it’s a very private and large yard. We can’t wait for summer to get here.
