Greetings from WI -
It is hard to believe that it was only a little more than a week ago that we were enjoying beautiful and warm Tortola. It is only 7 degrees here with 15 below zero forecast for tonight and about 5 inches of new snow on the ground. Our memories of the ocean, warm sand, and sunshine will have to keep us going until spring gets here in the midwest. I wanted to thank you for being such a great host. We had a wonderful family time at Limeberry Villa and appreciate all you did – the delicious welcome dinner, help with the taxi and transportation, sharing your catch of fish, and all the little attentions and touches. The villa was perfect for us and we thoroughly loved exploring and enjoying the island. Good food, friendly people, and beautiful scenery, beaches, and water. We hope to come back sometime.
There are so many positive things I can say about our time at Limeberry! Arriving to a fridge with food and drinks and a meal waiting for us were a wonderful surprise after our exhausting day of travel (with two little boys).
The views, comfortable beds, cozy gathering areas and well-supplied kitchen made this trip better than we could have imagined. Smuggler's Cove and Long Bay beach are our two favourite beaches so being minutes away from both of them was great. Thank you, Jon and Katy!
The perfect place for the perfect vacation! Jon, Katy and their staff were so easy to work with and did everything to accommodate two families with three kids under the age of two. The fridge was stocked with food and drinks and we had a delicious meal from delivered from D'Coalpot (roti was our favorite) they day we arrived. Gorgeous views from sunrise to sunset from every room in the villa. Smuggler's Cove and Long Bay beach were minutes in the car, which was great with our kids. The day trip to Little Thatch was one of our favorite days! I can go on and on about this trip, but to sum it up in one word, I'd have to say just Ahhh-mazing! We will definitely be back!
The villa was very well suited for our family of 8 including 2 kids with everyone having their own bedroom and bathroom as well as plenty of space to spread out in. Jon and Rohan met us at the West End Ferry dock with our rental vehicle as well as another car for our luggage and away we went on our vacation adventure. Jon bought us roti's from D'Coalpot for our first dinner and the frig was well stocked with breakfast items for the next day which was most appreciated. The view from the open air spaces are breathtaking especially with almost daily morning rainbows! We spent our days exploring different beaches ( our favorites were Cane Garden when no cruise ships are in and Josiah Bay for boarding)and our nights gathered around the big dining with table eating Caribbean dinners prepared by our oldest son and playing dominos and cards. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa and found Jon to be very accommodating whenever we called with a question. We hope to return soon to Tortola and the Limeberry Villa
The Limeberry properties and Little Thatch Island are a well oiled machine with great attention to detail. Jonathan and the lady he works with are great managers. I made an error on our reservation dates and in a panic contacted Jonathan and explained we would arrive a day earlier than planned. No problem. He said he would work something out. We got to stay the first night in Limeberry House. We found the fridge and bar stocked with items for our use. Jonathan and the housekeeper got us settled. Warmed our dinner, made us rum punch, fried plantain and left us alone to rest. The following day they helped us move to Limeberry Villa. We were able to use a Jeep free of charge. Later we were able to go snorkeling at Little Thatch Island. Keep in mind this is a tropical island. There are bugs and reptiles. The living areas are "open" (no walls). The nasty beasties (as Jonathan calls them) will find their way inside. He did provide bug spray and it was not a problem in the air conditioned sleeping areas. The view from the villa is better but I preferred the house as it seemed more quaint.
My husband and I took our two children and their families on this trip with us. Limeberry was the perfect spot for us to relax and enjoy the beautiful island. The villa is beautiful and the facilities are spacious, clean and well-maintained, well-stocked, and very comfortable. The website pictures and description are very accurate. Jon and the rest of the staff as well as the local people he recommended to us could not have been more friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this get-away location.
We just returned from a fabulous 3 weeks spent at Limeberry Villa. Our party included 5 adults and 5 children ages 9-13. The Villa provided plenty of room for all of us to gather as well as having our own space to retreat to. The location is ideal, just up the hill from our favorite beaches "Nature Boy" and Smugglers Cove. We spent most mornings at the beaches and then returned to the villa in the afternoon to cool off in the sparkling clean pool. Plenty of great restaurants nearby, our favorites were Fish and Lime, Bananakeet and D'Coal Pot. Our most memorable experience was the daysail we booked through Voyage Escapes, 3 great snorkeling stops as well as lunch on Norman Island - this is a must do! The owner, Jon, was a marvelous host and provided everything we could possibly need, he even stopped by with ribeye steaks to grill one night as well as 5 new boogie boards for the kids to use! This villa definitely met our expectations and then some, we hope to return one day!
