What a great location! Our Nokomis Florida beach vacation rental home is a 1.5 blocks walk to Casey Key's Nokomis State Beach Park, one of the best beaches in Florida - offering nearly a 1000 feet of sandy white beach, restroom facilities, outdoor showers and lifeguards.
Imagine yourself walking only 1 block to the inter-coastal to watch sail boats, fish and enjoy waterside dining at two fabulous seafood restaurants.
This spacious house offers an open floor plan with the master suite on one side and two generous-sized bedrooms and bath on the other. The living space includes a fully-equipped kitchen, dining and living rooms.
In addition, you can enjoy the tropical landscaped backyard from the lanai which spans the entire length of the house (large enough for dining, lounging, or entertaining friends). If necessary you can attend to business in the sunroom/office with high speed internet.
The master suite includes a private bath with shower, queen-size bed, and two large closets. The second bedroom is nicely decorated with a double-size canopy bed, while the third has two twin beds and a crib. The second bath includes a full-size tub. There is also a large laundry room with plenty of storage. Enjoy lovely tropical vistas from within, the large private backyard offers several citrus trees (squeeze your own juice in season).
Nokomis is a diamond in the rough-the Florida that time has forgotten. Enjoy walks on Casey Key, a beautiful barrier island of white sandy beaches and beautiful sunsets and no high rises. Shelling and shark tooth finds are plentiful and fishing opportunities abound.
This area has it all. Craft your stay to your liking. Spend quiet days on the beach, go fishing or kayaking. Take evening strolls on the beach and watch the sunset. All the essentials are easily accessed within a quarter of a mile. Three restaurants are within walking distance as is a full-service marina.
If you would like a more lively stay, boat rentals, golf, and tennis are all nearby. A short drive north is Sarasota, the cultural capital of Florida where music, theater, galleries, shopping, and restaurants abound. South of us is the island of Venice, a picturesque, quaint town. Its main street is lined with palms and flowers. Shops, restaurants, and sidewalk cafes line both sides of the streets.
Day trips: Tampa, Orlando, Boca Grande, Naples, and Sanibel are all easy trips.
My husband, Kevin and I have always loved the beach. We live in Pennsylvania and own one beach house in Ocean City, MD and this one in Nokomis, FL. Our son, Jason and his new wife live nearby in Osprey, FL. We love to visit and bask in the Florida sun, to recharge our batteries after the cold Pennsylvania weather. Someday we will probably move to our house in Nokomis, but for the time being, we're happy to share it with other sun seekers. Enjoy!
The very first time we saw this house and the neighborhood we fell in love with it. The short walk to the beach, to the inter-coastal waterway, to Pelican Alley and Pop's is exactly what we were looking for. I hope you have as much fun here as we do. Thank you for considering our beach home.
This house has everything we need. The sprawling layout with bedrooms at either end of the house makes it nice when someone wants to sleep without being interrupted by others in the house. The living room is big with two seating areas. There is additional sitting, sleeping and mingling space on the enclosed lanai. The kitchen is centrally located in the house and includes all of the appliances, utensils, dishes and other conveniences for a comfortable stay. The sunroom makes a great office and is complete with wireless internet service. This house is nicely appointed but with it's terrazzo tile floors and separate rear entrances onto the lanai, easy to maintain. The outside is complete with a gas BBQ grill, picnic tables and an outside shower for cleaning-up after a trip to the beach.
