This home is the perfect spot for your getaway! With 3 levels, there is plenty of space to be together, and plenty of space to have a little quiet time away from the rest.
The location is close enough to Grand Lake (a few minutes away) to enjoy it's mountain charm, and just a short walk from Shadow Mountain Lake, and yet far enough away to be a quiet refuge.
This mountain home (and everything in it) is top quality, immaculately clean, and comfortable! All the furnishings were purchased with luxury and comfort in mind.
The 2-story great room is the center of the home and a perfect gathering space, featuring hardwood floors, a wonderful gourmet kitchen and island breakfast bar with slab granite counter tops, eating area, gas fireplace, 55' HD TV, and Sonos Hi-Fi music wireless speaker system. This room spills out onto a huge private deck living area that is partially covered with a gas firepit to gather around, a built-in outdoor kitchen with gas grill, side burner and drop-in cooler, and ample seating to take in the scenery and the great outdoors.
The master bedroom is on this main floor, featuring a king-size bed, a 33' HD TV, it's own cozy sitting area/retreat, 5-piece bathroom, and walk-in closet.
Upstairs is a wonderful loft area, complete with a LCD TV, and a huge private bedroom with a king-size bed and a day bed with a trundle/pull out (2 twins together), and it's own full bathroom. The sofa in this loft area pulls out for additional sleeping. We love the 'suite' feel of the loft.
Downstairs is a quiet walk-out level with 2 queen bedrooms and another full bathroom. These bedrooms are just off a third living area and game table area with a 44' HD TV, DVD/VHS player, and a game system, 2 comfortable sofas, one of which pulls out for additional sleeping. This area is perfect for kids of all ages to get away from the rest of the gang and play to their heart's content.
Just outside the atrium doors from the walk-out family room is a quiet area with 2 porch swings. Watch the kids. Enjoy the view. Breathe the wonderful mountain air.
All of the bed linens and towels are luxurious and top quality. We have tried to outfit the kitchen with the best of everything - and everything we could think of.
The home feels secluded but is just minutes from everything you'd want to do. It is complete with WiFi internet, Comcast cable, high-efficiency washer and dryer, an on-demand hot water system that enables you to run all the showers, dishwasher, and washer without ever running out of hot water, beautiful decorations, beautiful views, and is ready for you and your family to enjoy time after time.

We are both Colorado natives, born and raised. We have spent as much time as we could vacationing in the mountains and had always dreamed of having a little slice of heaven in Grand Lake to build family memories. Now we are pleased to be able to share it with you. We hope you and your family will enjoy our mountain home and will create your own wonderful memories.
John and Becky purchased this house in 2009
Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural body of water, the Town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club, the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, and Colorado's premiere summer musical company, Grand Lake offers a unique getaway for all. Also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation Area, Grand Lake has been dubbed the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' due to its access from Town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. Grand Lake is a year-round vacationer's paradise for over one-hundred years.
This beautiful home is less than 2 hours from Denver and is easy to get to. Our home is not far (just 5 minutes) from Grand Lake at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park and all the area attractions but feels like it's in a secluded, private area. It's just a short walk to Shadow Mountain Lake, the Colorado River, walking trails, the public boat launch, and canal between Shadow Mountain Lake and Granby Reservoir. The area offers fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking with plenty of wildlife to enjoy.
Our home is uniquely situated near Grand Lake and all the attractions, but feels like it's private and remote. The Shores area is a planned community with paved roads and easy access, and our home is on a very quiet cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic. Our home itself is luxurious, accommodating, and comfortable with fine furnishings and everything you might need.
A trio of bulls across the street - eating willow branches and then resting!
Wonderful house and a delightful week in Grand Lake. 100 degrees at home made it even better. Good time had by all!
The house was perfect for our Christmas vacation. Location is good for relaxing, skiing, sledding, snow mobiling, sight seeing, and ice fishing during the winter. We love to use Jim at the local sporting store in Grand Lake. He is always so helpful for getting my guys set up for the fishing. The house has a lot to offer including very comfortable beds and bedding. We had plenty of space for our family and friends. The washer and dryer was also nice. We didn't have to bring dirty clothes home with us. And always lots of snow here in the winter. Sledding right behind the house is perfect! The only thing I would suggest is to have the pantry space available for guest. There was only 1 cabinet available for our groceries, and we were there for 11 days, so we had stuff scattered all around kitchen and dining area, but we made it work. It's a lovely place and very safe. John and Becky were always available when needed. We would definitely stay again. The view of the lake behind the house is amazing!
We had a blast! This house is beautiful and has a great kitchen for the ones who enjoy to cook! Great location really quiet and comfortable! We all loved it!
We stayed there with 4 people, using 3 bedrooms. Everything in this house is comfortable and well appointed. It is spacious, well-decorated, and has every amenity. The kitchen has every utensil anyone would need, and there is ample dinnerware and glassware. The owners provided detailed and comprehensive instructions for all aspects of the home - the entertainment systems, the appliances, and the operation of all the home's equipment. The location is very convenient to Grand Lake and the southern entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Yet it is on a quiet street. As other reviews have stated, it's even better than the photos indicate. We would love to stay there again.
What a wonderful place for a large family to stay. We celebrated my nephews wedding close by and all of our families rented in the area but they all seemed to congregate at our house. We never felt cramped and the covered patio with the firepit was a big plus especially with late afternoon and evening rain showers. This retreat even had high chairs for the granddaughters and plenty of room for everyone
This is a lovely home with great bedroom and living spaces for a large group. The multiple living areas as well as large deck provided plenty of space for the various ages in our family reunion (age 6-84!). Nice master suite with private seating area. The kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware and cookware and grill was a great option outdoors. Quiet neighborhood and cul de sac provided perfect place for family wiffle ball games.
This cabin was more than the pictures that are on the web site. It's very large, decorated beautifully and the beds are so comfortable. The kitchen has every possible item you would need plus more!!! The out door fire pit was a big hit with our family and because of it we never turned on a TV!!! We loved staying here so much we have already booked it for next year.
The house is 5 minutes from the town of Grand Lake, which is at the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and is the Snowmobiling Capital of Colorado! Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, and Lake Granby offer tons of fun during any season.
