Photos and Description of the Tucson vacation house rental
4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 7 Baths (Sleeps 10-12+)

This is a private home on 3 gated acres bordering Coronado National Forest Wilderness Area. This 5,000 sq ft contemporary Santa Fe masterpiece is beautifully built on the highest and most scenic improved parcel in the northeast Catalina Foothills at the base of Mt Lemmon. 4 bedrooms, 7 baths, gourmet kitchen, detached game room, and multiple porches and decks with the best views of the Tucson valley-period.

This property has proven to be ideal for golfers and golf clubs, bicyclists and bicycle camps, hikers and runners, artists and writers, couples who enjoy privacy with a view, housing for out of town wedding guests and family, small weddings and receptions (extra impact fee), small family reunions, gourmet cooks, Canadians and everyone else who lives where it is too darn cold or wants to experience a warm Sonoran Desert experience with spectacular sunsets and city views.

A link to an online video walk through of the property is available upon request.

Mt. Lemmon is a rare jewel in the Arizona desert. Jutting up 9,000 feet above sea level in the Santa Catalina Mountains north of our house, this magnificent mountain peak stands amidst the pale backdrop of the sparse desert sand and cactus. From our driveway, you begin the journey into a geological time warp moving through a saguaro forest for the first 10 minutes, then into many oak and pinion pine covered mountains with spectacular rock formations. Within 35 minutes, you can be fishing for trout at Rose Canyon Lake in the ponderosa pines. If you continue on, you quickly arrive at the small village of Summerhaven and the Ski Valley lift at over 8,000’ elevation. Many trails can be found in both the lower and upper elevations for winter or summer hiking.

A link to an online video walk through of the property is available upon request.

Even though you sense extreme privacy on the property, you are only minutes away from many activities:

Golf at Arizona National (formerly the Raven) in 10 minutes, 49ers Country Club in 10 minutes, Ventana Canyon in 25 minutes, and many more great golf courses within an hour.

Grocery shopping, restaurants, drug stores, and virtually everything you might need to purchase on a day to day basis are within 8 minutes. Park Mall is about 20-25 minutes away.

Drive time to the University of Arizona is about 35 minutes and to downtown Tucson, about 5 minutes further.

Upstairs: This carpeted area has two similar, large bedrooms with each having its own full bath inside the room. One is furnished with a king sized bed and the other with a queen sized bed and dressers. Also upstairs is a large media room furnished with a TV, a full sized futon sleeper, a twin sized sofa bed, and a collection of DVDs and video games. A router upstairs provides service for your laptop throughout the house. There is an exterior door upstairs to a very large deck furnished with tables and deck chairs for enjoying the most spectacular views in the foothills.

The Game room: This is a separate 700 sq ft guest house that is currently furnished as a game room and is accessible by a very short walk across the flagstone and concrete common area that includes a built in BBQ w/sink and an outside fireplace (chimenea). The game room is equipped with a pool table, a championship 18’ shuffleboard table, a ping pong table, an electronic dart board, a bar, outside seating, and a full bathroom.

This home is nestled into a saguaro studded hillside at on elevation of 3,300’ (Downtown Tucson is about 2,350’). It is the highest estate in the northeast foothills of Tucson and the view must be seen to be believed. During the day, you can see the mountains on the Mexican border (68 miles away) and at night, the sea of lights of metro Tucson are below you. Behind the home is designated wilderness area filled with wildlife and improved hiking trails off of the Catalina Highway to Mount Lemmon. The daytime temperatures in the summer are about 4 degrees less than downtown because of our elevation and the nighttime temperatures in the winter run at least 5 degrees warmer because we are off of the valley floor and sitting on solid granite.

A link to an online video walk through of the property is available upon request.

Other Activities: shopping, snowboarding, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, live theater, shuffleboard, hot air ballooning

Golf: There are too many great golf courses within 60 minutes of this property to mention. Arizona National and the Forty Niners country club are the two closest at about 10 minutes drive time door to door!

Ski: Mount Lemmon Ski Valley is the southernmost snow skiing facility in the country. It is only 27 miles from the property! You can go from 2,800 to 9,100 feet in elevation in about 40 minutes. The lift is usually operating between mid December and the end of March-depending on snowfall and conditions, of course.

Absolutely Perfect!!!

After looking at various wedding venues and accommodation options for out of town friends and family, we happened upon Jack's place. We were able to house out of town guests and also had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception at the house. It was great!! The views and pictures were absolutely stunning. The ceremony was so gorgeous and intimate.

The house is immaculate and well-kept and it is fully stocked with anything you'd need to make your stay comfortable! The energy in the house is very calming and inviting, and Jack was extremely accommodating to any and all of our requests to make our stay perfect.

Our guests (even native Tusconans!) were blown away by the experience of being in the beautiful mountains surrounded by nature, and by how secluded and gorgeous this house is. We were really sad to leave; after a week we really felt like it was home! I can't say enough great things about our overall experience with the property and Jack, the owner. It was just perfect!!!

Just Perfect

I have to say this was a God-send when looking for a home for 2 families and Grandma to celebrate our son's wedding in Tucson. We happened across this home on the web and when we looked at the available days it was just perfect for when we needed it, Thurs through Mon. Jack was very accomodating and helpful and we were fortunate he solved the problem of where to have the rehersal dinner...right there on the patio! We were able to use his extra tables, cloths, chairs, ribbon ties all at the home for a nominal fee. We had a great time in Tucson and were able to get to anywhere we needed to go from this home. We had the use of anything in the cupboards, and we contributed what we had left over and didn't need after our stay. The extra game building was perfect for the young adults in our family and we spent many hours in the spa and watching the fire in the fireplace outside. The view is utterly fantastic. You won't go wrong if you rent this beautiful home. It will have lasting memories for us.

This place is beyond perfect for our group of scrapbookers. We have stayed here twice and plan to come again. Jack is very accommodating and generous. We scrapbooked day and night, cooked, hot tubbed and enjoyed the game room. It's fantastic. You cannot beat the view or the space.

Amazing Property and Stay

I live in the Tucson area and rented this amazing house with its beautiful view for one week from May 30 – June 5 to visit with family that came out to visit me. From start to finish, the owner (Jack) welcomed me into his home and made every effort to make me feel comfortable, answered my questions, and assisted me as needed. He was extremely polite, professional, helpful, and accommodating.

The house is very spacious and enormously comfortable. It has top of the line appliances, large rooms and beds, and multiple thermostats to adjust for comfort. As well as being able to enjoy the view from inside the house, it also has multiple outdoor areas (two decks, Jacuzzi, and outdoor fireplace) to look down the side of the mountain and enjoy the impressive panoramic Tucson valley view and relax. It was remarkably quiet and private as well. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay and they are looking forward to coming back. We have stayed in one of the resorts in town and while it was nice, it does not even hold a candle to this property. I will definitely be contacting Jack again next time I have anyone coming out to visit me in Tucson.

I have to agree with other individuals that have reviewed this house; the pictures and video do not do it justice. I cannot say enough good things about my stay, the property, and the owner. Top Notch!

Even nicer in real life than the nice photographs are showing

We (3 couples) stayed in this beautiful home for 4 days.
Although very nice, the photographs can hardly reflect what this house is about:
-beautiful, most beautiful location
-beautiful, most beautiful house
-comfortable, most comfortable home
-warm and helpful owner, most cooperative and efficient in communicating

All in all, we had a wonderful stay and we would recommend this house to our relatives and best friends. We would certainly go back ourselves if we make future trips to Tucson
