I would say the description of the property was pretty accurate - in fact the bedrooms and living rooms were even nicer and more spacious than the impression given in the photos. We were very satisfied with the kitchen and bathing facilities also. Everything was in good working order and easy to use. You need to bring or buy all food for meal preparation (except salt and pepper) but there is soap, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, basic cleaning materials and bin liners.
We hadn't really realised the property was near the top of a long hill, however we soon found the buses we needed at the bus station in the centre, and there were stops right outside the condo too. Armando was very pleasant and helpful. He even came out to help when we had a brief power cut and the television needed reprogramming afterwards. We thought the large spacious property was very good value, particularly as the transfers to and from the airport were included in the price. Armando showed us where the main supermarket was in town (very conveniently at the bottom of our hill) as well as a local shop and recommended a local restaurant as good value. We went there three times and were made most welcome. We found the Portuguese people very friendly and helpful, which made finding our way around on the excellent public transport systems a most enjoyable experience. We went twice by train to Lisbon, by bus to Sintra and also to Ericeira (via Sintra) and walked along the sea front to Estoril and in the other direction to the marina and the 'Mouth of the Inferno'. All well worth a visit by the way. The only disappointment was that we failed on this holiday to make it to Obidos but as we had torrential rain that day, it was probably for the best! I would definitely recommend this property to friends, with the only stipulation that they might appreciate a car unless they are prepared to walk in often very hilly locations and are happy to use public transport.
