This 5 bedroom/5 bath home is located on what is called 'Ice Box' hill near the Historic area of Mazatlan. We have ocean views throughout the house and it is a 200 to 300 foot walk to the Malecon that runs along the Pacific Ocean shoreline. You can see the infamous 'Cliff Divers' from the patio. There is a swimming pool with Jacuzzi jets and it overlooks the Ocean.
The house is spacious with 5,000 square feet and has all the amenities of your home. The house was totally remodeled from top to bottom. All the furniture, beds, linens, cookware, dishes, glasses, etc. are brand new. We have a water purification system that runs pure water throughout the house, so you don't have to worry about 'drinking the water'. We have Star Choice Satellite TV with over 200 channels including local channels in the U.S. and Canada. This is also our home and not just a rental, so we keep it in immaculate condition.
The location of the property is ideal. It is located in a very secure upper-class area of Mazatlan. It is a 10 minute walk to the Plaza Machado in the Historic District and a 10 minute walk to the Central Market and Cathedral. If you want to go to the resort area (Golden Zone), you can catch a Pulmonia or taxi in a 1 minute walk from the house.
Property manager will arrange day trips and other activities at no cost to you. She can arrange the trips so you are picked up at the house. She can arrange to have shopping, cooking and cleaning done for you during your stay. She is also an expert massage therapist, and since we have a massage table at the house, she can give massages in the house.
Please take note that this is not a party house as it is our home. We do not rent to people under the age of 25 - kids with parents are welcome. The house is an upscale neighborhood, so we require quiet after 10pm. We do not rent to Spring Breakers - sorry.

We alternate their time between their homes in Mazatlan and Walla Walla, Washington. We have been either living in or coming to Mazatlan for several years and absolutely love it here. This house is not just a rental, it is our home. We have totally remodeled the home over the last two years from top to bottom, so it is like new. We wish we could spend more time in Mazatlan and eventually will. We are both semi-retired and try to stay busy with various business ventures.
Liz purchased this house in 2004
First of all, it is not just a vacation rental. It is our home. We rent it out periodically when we are not there. It is not a full time rental. We decided on Mazatlan as there is not another Mexico city that has the benefits this City has to offer. It is has a wonderful Historic area with great restaurants and entertainment; a resort area with great night-life; 16 miles of sandy beaches for swimming, boogie boarding and surfing; great medical and dental care (cheap too!); and all the amenities you are used to (Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Office Depot).
We love our home due to the 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean and the fabulous sunsets. There are very few homes in Mazatlan that have the view and the location that this property has. It is located in an upper-class section of Mazatlan with other very nice homes. It is a 1 minute walk to the Ocean and the Cliff Divers and a 10 minute walk to the Historic area and the Central Market. We can sit in the pool with a drink overlooking the Ocean and watching the fabulous Mazatlan sunsets. Once you come as see the view, you will want to return.
After spending 17 days here and re-reading all the positive reviews piling up, I can readily say it's all true, and there are just not enough superlatives.
We were three mature couples vacationing together for the first time. One of us has limited mobility with a recent total knee, but she is plucky and never once complained about all the stairs from the street to this unit. The effort was certainly worth it-- so much space for the group and so much privacy for each couple. Every need and comfort was thoughtfully provided. All six of us could work in the kitchen (equipped to the satisfaction of the home ecs and chefs in our group, and complete with condiments and spices) at once. All of us could comfortably "supervise" the cooks, or watch satellite TV. All of us could dine together in or on the patio, where the ocean view and sunsets were priceless. We enjoyed frequenting the Malecon, the shrimp ladies, the Mercado, and Plazuela Machado-- and all of us, even the two couples new to Mexico, felt very safe. For the couple accustomed to staying in a Golden Zone resort, the Centro Historico experience, even during noisy Carnaval, was far superior in feeling closer to the Mexican people even with so many Gringo ex-pats around.
Local management has changed, and we may have been the first guests for the new management team, which is still getting its sea-legs. We did find them immediately responsive to urgent needs, and we were especially grateful for maid service with fresh linens during our stay; it was excellent and came at a very low price.
For future winter visitors, we strongly recommend the Camerata Campell Sunday concerts in the Teatro Angela Peralta, and the first Friday Artwalk.
Yes, we would return to these fabulous digs, and hope to do so another winter.
I rented this beautiful property for a friend's 40th bday and all of us, from age 5 to 65, had an amazing time. The owner is prompt, communicative and friendly. We were warmly received by locals and neighbours, and are still pining for the view from the deck. Tons of space, comfortably and tastefully furnished, clean and has everything one needs. Central and close to all shopping and restaurants, but staying in and having the pool was paradise enough. Would all of us definitely come back... like forever.
We just returned from our annual Christmas vacation. This house was amazing, it has tons of room for families, and friends. Although this was our first time staying at this location, we would recommend this place to anyone. We had our young children and they loved all the space to run, and the pool was warm all of the time. The covered outdoor patio was where we all spent a good deal of time when not out walking around in the Centro. Plus the morning walks on the Malecon to grab breakfast can not be beat, plus the getting to watch the cliff divers was a daily treat.
If you are looking for a great family spot this could not be beat.
Great, memorable, relaxing vacation with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Enjoyed the families strolling on the Malecon for the Day of the Mother celebration, easy 10 min walk to dinner in historic district every night. The fridge was well stocked when we arrived and the tips on where to go were great. Watching the cliff divers in the day and night from our kitchen balcony was fun. We're looking forward to coming back for another visit!
This house is a beautiful residence located near the historical district. We loved the "private" pool, and the neighbors were very nice. We would walk to get coffee in the morning and then again walk to dinner in the evening. We enjoyed cocktails by the pool, and loved the gorgeous sunsets. We felt very safe in this location and walked everywhere. We felt that we had been so very lucky to find this home for our visit. It was a wonderful, romantic setting. I don't think it would work well for people with children, but for adult couples, it was fabulous.
We have visited Mazatlan many times over the years. This home was by far the best place we've stayed. The ocean views are spectacular. The home is spacious and immaculate. For our tastes, the location was fantastic; close enough to walk to everything we like to do. Only 1 block from the Malecon, we walked every morning downtown to either buy shrimp or vegetables for our fresh salsa, and of course a daily stop at our favorite Tortillaria for our fresh daily short stack. Although there were only two of us, this home would be fantastic for large family vacation.
If you're planning a vacation to Mexico, we highly recommend Mazatlan and this vacation home. The weather is awesome, the people are friendly and the owner is very accommodating.
