Ala Aina Ocean Vista is a private, unique solar powered B&B suite, located on a former banana plantation, nestled in an exotic lush tropical setting. It boasts the peace and quiet and offers guests sweeping ocean vistas. Enjoy lying in bed watching the ocean in your king-sized bed surrounded by windows overlooking tropical trees, flowers and rolling green lawns.
Our B&B suite offers a fully-equipped efficiency kitchen on the large private deck. You can cook 'under the stars'! There is an inside private bathroom with marble floors and tiled shower (roomy enough for two), as well as an outside bath and shower with lotus pond in your own little garden. Classic board games, ipod docking speakers, DVD and Direct TV for those that want television.
We are just 2 miles from, 7 Sacred Pools, aka The Pools at Ohe'o or also called 'Ohe'o Gulch'. Additionally we are 10 miles to the town of Hana, where the famous Hasegawa's General Store and the Hotel Hana Maui are located.
We are only 30-40 minutes to Maui's black and red sand beaches. Waioka pond, known as 'Venus pools', are a short 20 minutes away and Alele Waterfall is just 2 minutes away.
The best part is we offer each and every guest a romantic and quiet accommodation experience.
I have been a Maui resident for 31 years coming from Michigan. I run our B&B with my daughter Mercury. Together we have created this special place for our guests to enjoy and we keep busy making sure our 4-acre parcel is beautiful and manicured.
We were blessed to have found this lush and peaceful spot on the Island of Maui. Ny daughter and I have lived here for 20 years now, originally from Michigan. When my husband passed, we needed a way to make a living. I took advantage of having a space to renovate to a Bed and Breakfast, as this allowed Mercury, my daughter, and myself to stay at home, run a business and have a connection with wonderful folks from all over the world. This has worked out better than we could even imagined.
Samadhi Butterfly purchased this cottage in 1989
We are 100% green (completely solar powered) and offer our guests the chance to enjoy the lifestyle and and views that one would expect of a tropical paradise. Although we are always happy to answer questions and can offer plenty of advice on any Hana activities or sightseeing spots, we ultimately respect the privacy of our guests and believe in making sure you have a peaceful and romantic stay while you are here. We are around when you need us… and respectful when you want to be alone.
We have the luxury of privacy, peace and quiet in our setting. Mercury and I enjoy staying on our blessed piece of paradise and working in nature to make things beautiful. We enjoy donating to the homeless with our abundant fruit from our trees. We get most of our social connections with the wonderful folks that visit our B&B. We enjoy being totally 'green' and helping provide true eco-friendly accommodations but with the creature-comforts one would expect of a wonderful place to vacation.
The Mother-Daughter team do a great job at hospitality in their
"Piece of Paradise". We enjoyed two of our dinners on the lanai
watching the sunset. One dinner we ate off of the bamboo tray on our
bed because of the rainfall. As the evenings progressed, we would sit
at the table and read, eat tropical fruit from the property then
crawl into the king size bed and watch the geckos crawl up the
outside of the windows. The croaking frogs and light rainfall lulled
us to sleep several nights.
We enjoyed coconut milk, mangoes and bananas from the beautifully
manicured grounds (a former banana plantation).
Once we were greeted and shown around, we were given complete
privacy, unless we sought them out with a question. I bought a nice
costume jewelry necklace from Mercury's collection of handmade
jewelry. We appreciated all of the plumerias and other exotic flowers
used to decorate our room.
We would recommend Ala Aina Ocean Vista, especially for honeymooners;
lots of privacy and beautiful scenery. The only sounds we heard were
the mooing of nearby cows occasionally, birds trilling, the wind in
the mango trees and the frogs at night. Ahhhhh, lovely!
This is the exact opposite of Kaanapali's hustle and bustle. it's
remote, quiet & relaxing. If you want to rejuvenate and enjoy nature,
this is the place to stay!
The pictures show this location in full detail...but being here in person is even better! You always wonder in the picture..will it really have this view, etc. Well ALA ‘AINA OCEAN VISTA is spectacular the views are beyond the pictures. I found myself sitting on the Lanai ....and watching the views all around...2 views to the ocean...and then great mountain views. Sam and Mercury will get you settled, they are there for anything you need...and give you plenty of privacy as well! You need more than 2 nights to just rest and enjoy this slice of paradise! It is easy to cook in the outdoor kitchen, you are well supplied for breakfast - including local fruits and homemade bread. Bring your lunch/snacks and dinner with you and enjoy the ease of the outdoor kitchen and the amazing views. Only went into Hana 1 day as really there was no need to drive back and forth. And be sure and take "the back road" on your return trip - if you came up the Hana Hwy on the way up.
My husband and I loved this place and will hopefully visit again one day. Secluded, peaceful, tropical, artistic, romantic, natural, clean, views, amazing shower. The owners are beautiful ladies and both very kind and accommodating. I had the best sleep listening to the downpour of rain. The property is incredible with fruit trees and ocean views and even a tree swing.
An additional bonus is that it is located right next to the natural attractions of Hana...which means when we visited them in the morning we had them 100% to ourselves as the other visitors don't arrive until a bit later (they have to drive hours to get there). Must hike in the bamboo forrest.
I was drawn to this amazing Hana B&B based on the online photos and description, so my expectations were very high. Well, the pictures can't possibly compare to the experience which, for me, was truly Magical! The property is lush, beautifully manicured, and has amazing Ocean views from the private Lanai. It felt like my own private resort. I traveled to Hana to find a remote, non-touristy location to revitalize and de-stress. The "Vibe" of this incredible place was perfect in every way: Nurturing, healing, breathtaking, and revitalizing! Samadhi (Sam for short) and her daughter Mercury did everything possible to make my 4 day stay perfect in every way. This is truly an Island Paradise, and the ideal location to experience the magic of Hana. I can't wait to return!!! It is a perfect vacation destination for a couple or for an individual traveling solo, as I did.
What a beautiful spot! We had a wonderful 2 night stay. The studio apartment is very well equipped. Be prepared to bring what you need for your dinner, can be cooked in the fun outdoor kitchen on the 2 burner stove. Great advice from Sam and Mercury about how best to spend our time in the area. Really good suggestion to take the south route back towards Kahului. It was a beautiful drive. Thanks!
My wife and I stayed at Sam and Mercury's B&B for three nights and loved it. Sam and Mercury were very good at welcoming us, did a thorough introduction to the property, and were very friendly and helpful during out stay. The room itself was great - HUGE bed that was very comfortable, large bathroom with a great shower, and an outdoor kitchen that we used every night to cook. The views of the ocean were stunning from the deck, and the star gazing at night was amazing! (Especially from the outdoor bathtub that you can sit in and gaze upwards to the starry night.)
Our stay was during peak mango season and there are several large mango trees on the property so we had our fill of fresh mango and other fruits from their trees. Beautiful property and very close to Ohe'o Gulch.
We stay at a lot of B&Bs and this one is a gem - we will be back!
Our stay at Ala'aina Ocean Vista was fantastic. We were here on our honeymoon. We arrived late in the afternoon and Sam greeted us and walked us through all the spaces and equipment associated with the property. The locale itself was superb, giving you lush forest on one side with multiple mango trees, and a view of the ocean and the "Big Island" on the other. We were two miles from the entrance of the state park that has the hike to a bamboo forest and 400 foot waterfall, as well as the walking path to the "Seven Sacred Pools." Sam and Mercury made us feel completely at home while still giving us complete privacy. In the evening we cooked on the grill or in the overhead protected, outdoor kitchen. It was cool to smell the rain and vegetation while listening to the mangos drop to the ground. They have the place decorated and detailed perfectly for an island getaway. There is a really neat outdoor shower and bathtub if you truly want the total outdoor experience, but there is also a great indoor bath with as huge shower for two as well. Overall, we had a great, romantic experience here. Sam and Mercury were very gracious hosts. Mahalo.
Ala Aina Ocean Vista is located in the pristine Hana side of Maui on a private estate. Surrounded with lush gardens of tropical flowers, and seasonal fruit trees of; banana, mango, avocado, starfruit, Surinam cherries, oranges, tangerines and lemons (to list a few).
The property also boasts ocean vistas and nearby to Maui's famous Wainapanapa Black Sand Beach, Red Sand Beach, Hamoa Beach. We are also close to Waimoko Falls and a few other famous Maui waterfalls.
One of the best things our Hana property provides is peace and quiet.
