Belvedere Duomo is Florence's most beautiful location for your Italian holiday. Located literally on the side of Brunelleschi's Duomo (only 27 meters or 80 feet away), the two level apartment has a large terrace for dining (for 8) and relaxing in the shadow of this great dome, the third largest Church in the world. After an extensive two year renovation, this property is 'new' in the shell of a 12th century structure. The amenities of the apartment are as you would find in a luxury hotel suite, with a gourmand's kitchen, computer hookups and wi-fi, washer/dryer, and an elegant all travertine bath.
The apartment is on the fourth level of the building, with 88 steps well worth the journey. Assistance is provided to help with luggage upon arrival.
Spend a once in a lifetime vacation at one of the most historic sites in all of Italy, with all of the comforts of a 5 star hotel. Belvedere Duomo comfortably sleeps 4 in comfortable beds with ample storage and unique original artwork and sculptures throughout the apartment.
One step onto the terrace of this magnificent unit, and you will understand the historic importance and splendor of Italy.

I am an architect in New Orleans Louisiana USA - educated in Rome and Florence, and have always dreamed of the perfect getaway in Italy. 'Belvedere Duomo' - meaning 'beautiful view of the Duomo' is just that place, with a very convenient, luxurious and quiet apartment with the appointments of Florence's finest hotels.
Ron Blitch purchased this apartment in 2009
After searching for an apartment for over a year, I saw this completely renovated 12th century apartment with one of the greatest views in all of Italy - Brunelleschi's Cathedral, or the Duomo. The powerful presence of the Duomo from the upper living room and kitchen (unique around the entire Duomo) is breathtaking and hard to put into words. The Duomo becomes 'part' of your Florence experience, from a vantage point that only you can enjoy.
Located literally next to the Duomo, Belvedere Duomo is only a few minutes from the Uffizi, the Train Station, the Central Market and San Lorenzo (Medici Chapel), and the Galleria Accademia (David). The apartment is a 'new' property, completed restored and rebuilt after 2 years of intensive work, including wonderful appointments and conveniences only found in a luxury suite in a fine hotel.
We just thought we would drop you a line and thank you for such a wonderful place to stay. I travel the world (a lot for business, but also a lot for pleasure) and have to say this is one of the finest places we have stayed. My wife is a decorator and usually I hear what she would do different when we stay at rental homes. Not this time, she LOVES what you have done to the place.
Paolo has been wonderful. He introduced us to a new artist by the name of Elena Faccini and we bought some art from her. Not sure if you know of her but judging by the art we see here you might want to take a look. Up and coming artist we believe.
We also visited Gabriele Mossa whom we found through your information and art. WOW, wish he still did the masks you have in your place here. UNBELIEVABLE! We did purchase three items from him though, he is a wonderful talent and thanks for the information. I have included a photo with Gabriele and my wife with one of the items we purchased.
Again, thank you for creating such a wonderful place to stay. We look forward to staying here many more times in the future. We love Florence and we LOVE your place.
This property is simply amazing. The view is stunning. The apartment is beautifully decorated, very well maintained and very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. It's amazingly quiet considering it is in a very busy area in Florence. Convenient to all the sights, restaurants, shopping. The manager, Paolo, is very good to deal with and very helpful. I was thankful for all the steps to get to the apartment. It helped burn off some calories!! Loved this apartment and would highly recommend it to friends and family. Would love to return for another stay.
This is one of the best places to stay if you want to experience Florence at its fullest. Located right in the heart of historical Florence, you'll have a wonderful time exploring this part of the city. The view from the balcony where we enjoyed breakfast each morning was just absolutely stunning. You really don't have to worry about not getting any peace and quiet because although it's located on a busy pedestrian, you won't hear that much noise from your 5th floor apartment. Have some pasta cravings? There are a lot of restaurants down the street. I have loved staying in this apartment and had a really great time, even climbing the stairs, after all I had to exercise after eating all the sumptuous meals in those restaurants.
This was my second time staying in this lovely apartment. The view from the terrace is hard to describe as it truly takes your breath away. Wine and cheese were awaiting us on arrival, thanks to his manager Paolo (who is available to help with all your needs), which we enjoyed on the terrace. What a way to say hello to Florence!
We took a walking tour of Florence and I have to say it was one of our highlights! She is a doctor of art history. She knew facts that informed us, intrigued us, and kept us very interested throughout the entire 5 hours (you decide length). She even took us to her favorite cafes to grab an espresso along the way. Here is her info: Dr. Paola Barubiani - walksinsideflorence dot com. (VRBO won't accept hyperlinks)
My favorite restaurant was "La Giostra". Hands down the best meal I had in Florence.
If you want leather go to the Leather School "Scuola del Cuoio".
We had a fabulous time exploring the city and hanging in the apartment. Don't let the 88 steps to reach this jewel scare you. Paolo will arrange (for a small fee) to have your bags brought up to and back down from the apartment. And the 88 steps are no big deal if you are in good health. And I almost forgot the most important thing...This apartment has enough air conditioning to cool an apartment twice its size. It was such a wonderful feeling after a long day exploring to be greeted with a gush of cold air when you opened the door. A big plus!!
Can't wait to return a third time!
This apartment is a jewel. The location on the Piazza del Duomo is central to everything. The view from the kitchen is breathtaking with the Duomo towering just over the balcony. Paolo, the local manager is extremely affable and is available to assist with many different aspects of a stay. For americans this also may be the only properly air conditioned space in Florence. The apartment was a great respite to cool off in and enjoy after a day of walking and enjoying the city.
Sunny and bright, beautifully renovated apartment just a few meters
away from the Duomo. A view of the old and beautiful buildings of Florence from the terrace. Less than 2 miles from the apartment were other
historical highlights - Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery
and Piazza della Signoria. Boutiques, antique shops
and restaurants were also just around the corner.
This is the second time I've stayed at the Belvedere Duomo, and it was so wonderful to be back in this lovely apartment. This time I brought my fifteen year old daughter, and my sister, so that they could experience the terrace next to Brunelleschi's dome. What can I say -- it is a magical place. If you are coming to Florence, this is such a great part of experiencing this beautiful city. Paulo, who manages the apartment, again did a great job of arranging cooking lessons and a tour to Siena and the Cappanelle winery (great wine and an equally great meal). Paulo is exceedingly helpful and he really helped make our trip even more amazing. If there were a ten star rating, I'd give it.
Tours of the Cupola, the Roof, and the Campanile of the Duomo are within 50 meters of the apartment
