Enjoy relaxing on our direct beachfront yards which overlook the blue Pacific Ocean. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on our grassy beachside yards. Watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in one of our four hot tubs, stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure. Close by are world famous North Shore attractions such as the Hauula hiking trails and preserve, Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay Resort and Golf, Brigham Young University, Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Kualoa Ranch and the last unspoiled 'Hawaiian' style towns on Oahu. Enjoy your Hawaii vacation directly on the beach with in our North Shore beachfront vacation homes.
All our properties are located in the fishing town of Hauula on the North Shore of Oahu near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are approximately 1 hour from Honolulu International Airport; where the Ko’olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean. Although we are “away from it all” we do have the Hauula Kai shopping center a short walk/drive away which has a large grocery store and several restaurants.
Our rural community of single family homes, small shops, and quaint restaurants is very different from the high rise retail/ tourist centers of Waikiki and Ko’olina. With hiking trails and unspoiled beaches, we offer a glimpse of the Oahu of yesteryear with convenient access to the night life and modern pleasures of Honolulu & Waikiki.
If you want to escape the crowds and discover a quieter and more peaceful alternative to the hotel and resort scene then Hale Ko’olau is perfect for you. Although our rentals are entirely self-catering we do have someone available on-site every day from 10am to 6pm to answer questions, give suggestions on where to go and what to do, or to just talk story.
We are happy to provide our guests with access to amenities such as high quality, professional grade snorkel equipment, ocean kayaks, beach & picnic equipment, and more for a nominal service fee. Guestbook comments from the owner
We actually rented this unit, and the adjoining unit. This unit has two bedrooms, one with it's own bathroom and the other bathroom just a few steps down the hall. The futon was great for our teenage son, but doen't offer any privacy. He loved it because he could leave the slider open and take advantage of the ocean waves and breese at night. (With the adjoining unit we got another bedroom, sitting room, bathroom, and a small kitchen.) The kitchen in this unit was large and had enough dishes/silverware/glasses to serve dinner for the 6 of us, and three friends we had over for dinner. Plenty of pots for cooking. Each room had it's own air-conditioner, but we rarely used them. Coin operated washmachine and dryer in the unit (hall closet). Beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, paddle boards, kayaks, surf boards and coolers all available for rental on the grounds - all reasonably priced. Some guests complain about the ants, but when we followed all the clearly explained instructions about putting food away and keeping crumbs off counter tops and floors, we didn't have any problems. Absolutely no road noise, even with windows open at night - waves was all we heard.
