This is a beautiful upper unit with ocean views.

Located next to 38th Street Park (play area and basketball court on far side), the back bay and Little Newport Island and is within walking distance to Albertsons, restaurants and Newport Pier. The famous Newport boardwalk which runs along the oceanfront and starts and ends at 36th Street is a short block from the unit. Balboa Island/Fun Zone/Wedge are within bicycle riding distance along with all Huntington Beach attractions.

This area has much better street parking compared to most areas of the Newport peninsula. The garage has ample room for two cars, bikes, beach toys, etc.

The unit was recently remodeled inside and out. The kitchen has granite counter tops, stainless steel (Kitchenaide) appliances, and two dining tables. The living room and master bedroom have contemporary furniture with ceiling fans. Master bedroom has a separate balcony and a spacious master bathroom with plenty of closet space. Unit has vaulted ceilings throughout and is bright and airy with plenty of windows for ocean breezes. Both front and rear balconies have ocean views.

If you're a baseball fan, Angels season ticket seats are also available for select games. Please check for available dates during your vacation.

The downstairs unit is also available for large groups (2 bedroom, 2 bath).

About The Owner

We are Palm Springs, California residents who love Newport Beach and are avid Angels baseball fans.

The Owner purchased this house in 2000
Why The Owner chose Balboa Peninsula

We love coming to Newport Beach during the summer to escape our 100-120 degree desert summer days! We also love going to Angels games during the summer and going to the beach with friends and family. Our kids are avid surfers/boogie boarders and love to bring their friends with them.

What makes this house unique

This is a great family vacation for people with or without kids who love to be outdoors in great weather. Mom and Dad can relax on the beach while the kids run wild and wear themselves out, while playing in one of the safest & best beaches in California. You are in the center of Orange County and all the available attractions, yet you spend minimal time in your car or traffic once you arrive. We love staying there and we hate to leave every September

30 minute drive or less to Disneyland, Angel Stadium, South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island, UC Irvine, Children's Discovery Museum, Boat Rentals, Catalina Island/Deep Sea Fishing excursions, Queen Mary, Aquarium of the Pacific

The place is comfortable and clean for a vacation place at the beach. Location is near park, restaurants and the store . All within walking distance. You can park your car and forget it for the week at the beach. My family has been renting the same place for the past three years and plan each year at the same location. Any problems at the location the owner is quick to make it right. Also the price is right for summer beach house rentals.

Great Time in Newport Beach

We stayed in the lower unit of this home with three adults and two teens. We had a great time. The house was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for eating in. The garage had plenty of recreational supplies for the beach: bikes, chairs, boogie boards and a large wagon to take to the beach. Parking in the garage is a little scary as the garage floor is a hill, but hey at least you have parking for two cars!
Though on the corner of a busy street the location was still great. I think we liked it a little bit away from what might get a little crazier close to the beach. You just cross the boulevard and walk two short blocks to the beach. Also because this location is not way down the peninsula it made the traffic a lot easier. But honestly, we hardly every left the place, or walked to close by establishments.
We highly recommend this place for the reasonable price, good location. We would go back.

Perfect stay. Great location

The house and amenities were perfect. The locations was great: close to the beach, grocery store and restaurants. Has 2 parking spaces (in garage) per unit. Had boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella and a wagon ready to use for the guests. John is WONDERFUL to work with. Pet friendly but we decided to leave our dogs at home (last minute decision). I'll be back for sure!!!!!

We rented the unit last summer. We loved it! The parking was great compared to other units we've rented and enjoyed the neighbors. The kids made friends and still stay in contact. Loved using the Angels Baseball tickets which were free with unit. We plan on coming back again next summer!

We rented from the Dodds on many ocaisions and absolutely loved the unit. The kids had a great time. The unit is in great shape and very clean. My son loved the surf conditions and we loved being able to walk to the grocery store and the pier restaurants, etc. It was nice having the park close by as well. The Dodds were very helpful and gave us their number to call if there were any problems. A great family vacation place!
