ONE OF THE BEST VIEWS ON THE ISLAND! IT WAS WONDERFUL TO WAKE UP EVERY MORNING.

Our visit was amazing from the start. Alberto was there upon our arrival to greet and welcome us with more than enough information of the surrounding area. He gave us a tour of the property and went over the house binder with many maps of the area including grocery stores, restaurants, sights to see, places to go and so on (he even included a special packet for me that listed live music events and venues in the area, since I am a musician).

The view from the patio alone is reason to stay here. Overlooking the north shore of the island, you get amazing sunrises on the right and equally beautiful sunsets on the left.
We spent most of our time on the patio. Provided are hanging chairs, hammocks, breakfast table, picnic tables, a full kitchen and plenty of beach toys. Alberto and Wendy even brought out some toys and dolls for our 5 year old daughter to use during our stay.

The bedrooms were very comfortable, both with ac units and flatscreen televisions. Although with the amazing views and constant cool breezes there was no need for such amenities. I have to admit, having complimentary wi-fi was quite nice and you can even make calls to the U.S. mainland with the house phone and your cell at no extra charge.

Having Mar Chiquita and Los Tubos beaches just steps from your door makes this house a beach goers dream. Mar Chiquita is a perfect place for children and adults alike. You can swim, snorkel, float or just chill on the beach and soak up some rays. On the weekends the beach is a little more festive with some kiosks for beer, cocktails, food, art and jewelry. Don't worry though, you can barely hear it from the patio and most people clear out by sundown. Los Tubos is a sacred gem with it’s long beaches, larger surf and beautiful, caribbean, crystal clear water.

I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of San Juan. It is great that San Juan is a short 40 min. drive to and from the house and you are in a great central spot to explore the entire island. island.

Our vacation at Roberto's was everything as described and more. From high atop the bluff, the view is spectacular ( picture is from the porch). The rooms were tidy, all the linens and kitchen supplies were in abundance. Besides the unobstructed view, our favorite feature was the wide, covered deck running the length of the house.
About forty-five minutes from San Juan the property was in a lightly populated residential neighborhood; however, we were only about ten minutes from Manati, offering a variety of shopping and restaurant experiences.
We were at no loss for restaurants as Roberto supplied a good listing as well as detailed instructions. When we experienced a brief area-wide blackout he answered out call immediately and contacted the electric company. A highlight for us was Roberto, himself. At the end of our stay he came to the house and engaged us in a delightful conversation filled with history, geology and culture.
The only caution would be for those with small children, there is a fairly steep bluff at the front of the property; otherwise, we give it our unqualified recommendation.

For those who want to experience the local life and away from the hustle and bustle of the more popular spots like the Condado and Old San Juan area, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! The house is a place where you can relax and de-stress yourself or a place to get work done.

Situated on a cliff above the Mar Chiquita beach, the terrace has a breathtaking 180 degree view. You can see all the way out to Los Tubos beach as well. Plenty of hammocks, swinging chairs to sit in, eating area, and a patio cafe style table to do work on. I spent all day sitting in the terrace area to do my work with no interruptions (except for the occasional daydreaming). Supermarket and stores are a short car ride away. Easy to get to even for those who are directionally challenged (like me). The gated house is in a quaint neighborhood.
Beautiful grounds with all sorts of trees and flowers. A feast for the eyes.

I was a little worried about the outside kitchen because I love to cook. For me, it was a new experience and I loved it. At first it was a challenge and I made do. Alberto has a bbq grill and a heavy duty iron double burner which suited me just fine. He also has a camping oven that you can use on request. My family stayed with me for a few days and we made the usual bacon and eggs for breakfast and various dinners like pasta with grilled vegetables and the usual bbq items. A rice cooker, microwave, and a toaster are also available. Cooking was not a problem. For those who do not cook, there are plenty of places to go out and eat.

Alberto was an awesome host. I did not get to meet Wendy and hopefully I will next time I am there. Alberto was very accommodating- he waited for us to arrive with a warm welcome. He had lots of information that he shared (where to eat, where to go, etc). He also is a powerhouse of knowledge. I had lost electricity/internet and Alberto was there in 45 minutes to check things out and to make sure i was okay.

So, in a nut shell, YES, I will be back, YES, I would recommend this property to anyone, and YES, Alberto is an awesome host.
