We would like to take this opportunity to 'thank' everyone for viewing our site and booking with us. It's a joy for us to be able to share this great house and location with others. We are taking bookings now for 2012, so check our calendar to see if your dates are available and send us an email. Thanks again.
My wife & I are from North Lake Tahoe and knew that someday we wanted a house near the beach. We searched the California coastal towns, narrowed the search to Morro Bay, happened upon this house one day and got very lucky with our purchase. We love this town, our location and views.
Fred Wickman purchased this house in 2008
We had a detailed criteria for a second home, knowing that we may retire there someday. It had to be near the ocean, close to a college town (Cal Poly), near a major hospital, close to lots of golf & fishing and the bonus for us was how big the Central Coast Wine Region is. We couldn't have picked a better place.
Three words . . . . . views, views and more views !!! We are always surprised at how much we just sit and stare at the waves breaking on the beach, the wildlife and the surfers. It's just constant movement and different every day. We love sitting on the front porch at sunset with a great glass of wine, it just doesn't get much better than that !
We truly enjoyed staying here. Being able to see the ocean and Morro Rock at all times was delightful and relaxing. There was plenty of space for 6 adults to be comfortable, and it was really nice not having to bring sheets and towels. Everything we needed was available in the house. We would definitely rent again, as would our friends.
We stayed here as the mid point on the drive from San Francisco to LA. Visiting from Boston, met up with family from SF for a fantastic family vacation by the beautiful beach setting in mid August. Great location for touring Hearst Castle and Roblos wine country.
House is on a quiet street that abuts a state beach and park. Unencumbered view of the Pacific beach and memorable sunsets. Short walk to a sandy uncrowded beach.
The house is amazing and well equipped. Everything you need for a beach vacation is available. Boogie boards for the kids, beach chairs and a BBQ. Beautiful well furnished outside patio overlooking the Pacific with an outdoor gas firepit makes you not want to leave the house. The chef's kitchen is very well equipped. Comfortable for 6 adults. Owners are great and very accomodating.
Looking forward to a return visit for a longer stay.
My husband and I have four kids, ranging in age from 8-17. Over the years we found that renting a property is an ideal way for us to relax and enjoy our vacation and not be constricted to a hotel environment. This house is wonderful and the pictures on the website are accurate. The view is amazing, the house is very spacious and the layout is perfect for a family of 6-8. Bathrooms are all new and very well decorated. I especially appreciated the fact that the house is fully stocked with linens, towels, clean dishes and kitchen utensils. The stove and fridge are top notch and everything works and is very clean. There is also a great fire pit outside, perfect for a great family evening around the fire. If you are on an active side, the cooler morning weather is perfect. Keep in mind that you will probably not see sun until 1 in the afternoon, so mornings are great for a hike, a walk, or a drive to San Luis Obispo for breakfast, lunch or shopping. The beach is amazing from 2-7 pm. This beach is great for smaller kids because the waves are mild and it is very shallow for a very long stretch. The water, even in August, is on the colder side, but my kids were in the water the entire time anyway. For great shopping and dining, San Luis Obispo is a very short drive away, 12-20 minutes. There are some local restaurants that we liked as well. One last note for people with kids who may have allergies. There is a camp ground on the lower level of the street. During the weekend when a lot of people arrive, there is a lot of smoke from the camp fires. Nothing you can do, and not really bothersome, but for people with asthma it may be uncomfortable.
I really recommend this great place and hope to be back next summer for a repeat. Fred, thank you for sharing your home!
Just got back from an amazing week spent with high school girlfriends who have been friends for over 35 years. This home is everything that it says it is. They have everything you need to enjoy an awesome beach vacation. We loved the view from the home and the patio and the easy access to the beach for our daily walk along the shore. We brought our own bikes and made good use of the bike trails that run along the coast. We would definitely recommend this home to our family and friends.
From the moment we unlocked the door we knew we were in store for a great visit to Morro Bay. The home is exactly as described on VRBO. The owners design selection and comfort ability and function of this home is outstanding. First time at Morro Bay with family and friends in neighboring Cayucus. Made for easy traveling and great dinner parties. Very short drive to Cayucus to join in on the 4th of July celebrations. Owners are outstanding to work with. Very gracious to all our needs. Look forward to coming back....
We loved Beachcomber's Paradise. It was perfect for our family. The house has fabulous views, is warm, inviting and extremely comfortable. It is also very well-equipped for food preparation and serving. Comfortable beds, quiet and moments from the beautiful beach.
It was also spotless, beautifully cared for and obviously well-loved by its owners. Highly recommend.
Other Activities: The Central Coast is a very large wine region with some of the best wines in all of California. Enjoy a day of wine tasting in this area..
Golf: For you golf enthusiasts, there is a wonderful 18 hole course in Morro Bay with ocean and bay views from almost every hole.
