The house is in a quiet street in the heart of Notting Hill. Within 4 mins walking distance you can reach the famous Portobello Antique market (which is also a daily, open air delightful fruit and vegetable market), Kensington Gardens, which is a large park (over 250 acres) and where the Kensington Palace can be visited (the home where Lady Diana lived), many fashionable clothes stores and numerous restaurants serving cuisine from most parts of the world.
Two minutes from the house there stops for over 10 bus lines going to all parts of the city and ten minutes away there two subway stations serving four different lines. The city's most famous museum district is reachable by a walk through the park.
It is large, airy and bright house(2500 sq ft) with high ceilings. On the garden level, there is a substantial living space which combines the kitchen, dining and an area with sofa, armchairs and television. This looks onto the garden though ceiling to floor French windows that can be opened to the full width of the house. On the first floor the sitting room has windows which face to front and rear of the house making it an exceptionally light room. The three bedrooms are double and each has an ensuite bathroom.
The top bedroom is particularly large looking onto the front and rear of the house, with a large double bed. All the linen provided is good quality (cotton and linen sheets for instance). The other two bedrooms both have double beds (in one room the bed can be split to make two singles). Our housekeeper comes twice a week and will welcome you. She will clean the house during your stay and after your departure. It is a non smoking house.

David is a Londoner, born and bred, and has been a international executive. Joelle is French. We both love this city and make the most of the museums, galleries, theatres, music and films. We often take advantage of the parks as we are both keen walkers.
We bought this family house where we brought up our three children who are no longer living with us. We don't use it all the time because we have a house in France.
We benefit from everything that London has to offer!
My son, daughter-in-law, and three grand children (ages 8 to 12) stayed with me in this absolutely lovely home in London's Notting Hill district. The pictures we saw before deciding on the rental 'described' the property perfectly; in fact it was better than we imagined. The spacious rooms were clean, the bed linens fresh and beautiful, the bathrooms remarkable. The kitchen/garden area was spectacular, particularly an appropriate place for the children. The owners were helpful every step of the way as we were making our rather complicated arrangements. The location was superb. We tended to walk to either the Bayswater or Notting Hill underground when we visited other parts of London; the grocery shopping close by was excellent. All in all, a truly wonderful visit and we would recommend it highly.
We want to express our may thanks for making our Olympic visit so wonderful. Your home was as stated in the profile and the location was perfect for London. Easy walks to transportation, food, pubs and great shoppig. Being in a residential neighborhood was nice. We hope to visit again soon.
We stayed here in the end of August 2011 (couple in our 40s, kids 9&7 and 80 year old granny).
The pictures were very accurate and the house was lovely with books and art. It was very spacious and clean with a great kitchen and modern bathroom facilities. The family room was amazing with a full wall of windows that opened fully to a lovely garden (felt like we were outside). The location could not be better with wonderful stores & restaurants all within a very easy walking distance. It was on a quiet residential street where we felt very safe. The Tube stations were about a 10 minute healthy walk ... but we actually enjoyed the neighborhood so much, we found much more to do than expected in a 5 minute walking radius!
The owners were very good at communicating details in advance. The reservation process was simple and the house had everything we expected ... and more. The kitchen had lots of unexpected benefits and the owners provided a lot of little conveniences within their house. The wireless access was very convenient and there was a large modern entertainment center in the famly room. We were very very pleased with the experience.
If I had to find something negative about the place ... the only comment I can make was that there was a lot of stairs. This was not a problem for myself, husband or two kids. It was a bit challenging for my 80 year old mom who walks with a cane. The living room is on the main floor ... and you must go down a flight of steep stairs to get to the kitchen/family room. You need to go up one or two flights of steep stairs depending on what bedroom you are heading to. This would not be a good rental for anyone with balance or walking issues. We knew about the stairs in advance from the owners, but thought it was worth mentioning here.
