Good house for a large family

We rented house for nearly two weeks for family reunion. House is on ocean front, generally as described, but had deferred maintenance which interferred with complete satisfaction with rental. Dishwasher and microwave had problems, hide-a-bed was ancient and had problems-luckily only small children slept on it. North shore area is quiet but a long drive from Honolulu if that's where you want to be for tourist activities. One of the big factors in selecting this house was that it advertised a washer and dryer. Not true-washer and dryer were in another building and coin-op. Sign that said 24 hour survelliance gave us false sense of security. When the house was burglarized we found there is no 24 hour camera, only a sign that says there is. It took a long time to figure out the light switches-all on hard-to-figure-out dimmer system and switches in odd places. Owner is not available for questions; manager does not live on property. Our visit would have been better if we, and our guests had not spent so much time trying out how to make things work, and dealing with deferred maintenance.

Owner's Response: We wanted to thank this family for giving us a review and will clarify some things for our future guests.
We are self-catering, family-owned and operated for over a decade. We have someone on-site everyday from 10am-6pm to assist any guests with questions, requests, or to simply "talk story" as we say in Hawaii.
Upon arrival, we greet our guests in-person and walk them through their rental and the whole property so they know where everything is located, we can answer any questions they may have, and to give them a warm aloha to the islands and our family's property. Located in the rental, we provide an in-suite guide with information of the island, things to do in the area, and our telephone numbers where we can reached at all times. All of our rentals are right next door to each other, and our grounds are accessible by all guests.
For this rental, we have NEVER stated there was a washer & dryer located in the unit, as there hasn't been a set there since we began renting the home over a decade ago. We are proud to offer guests coin-operated washers and dryers on-site for their convenience, which are $2.00 per operation to off-set the costs of utilities used by the washers and dryers, which are quite high on the island. A small nominal fee for a huge convenience, with the closest laundromat being at least 30 minutes away.
We do not know if the guests were burglarized or not. The Police were called to our home, and inspected, of which they found no forced entry of any kind; no broken doors or locks, and no windows were accessed. Therefore, this is an alleged burglary as there is no proof (i.e. no broken doors, broken glass doors, etc.) that the items were stolen or lost elsewhere.
Contrary to this guest's opinion, we are available everyday on-site and by phone. In fact, we met with them several times during their stay. As we do receive guests year-round, sometimes things break and we respond immediately to mediate any problem for our guests, as we want them to enjoy their stay with us on the property and on the island. I must say they contacted us twice during their stay, with mention only to the dishwasher, which was repaired. If we had known of their other discrepancies, rest assure we would have taken care of them immediately, as we did before.
