Located in one of the most charming areas of the centre of Florence, via dei Benci, 7, next to the astonishing square of Santa Croce's church, the apartment is on the first floor of a XIIth century building with only 2 apartments.
This flat has been entirely renovated in spring 2009, but the antique charm of the building and of its features has been absolutely conserved in the florentine taste , the place offers a lovely view of the alive and beautiful Via dei Benci.
The apartment is composed by 1 double bedroom with a queen size bed, 1 luxury bathroom with a shower, and by a living room with a convertable queen size bed.
The kitchen is open on the dining area with a table for 4 persons .
There is wireless internet connection and air conditioning in every room.
The appartament is exceptionally convenient and such a time saver for anyone looking to see most of Florence's sights in a short while .
Easily , without car, bus or taxi , you can enjoy this wonderful city , all is within max 10 mins walk .
This is a prime location for sightseeing and entertaining, the area is vibrant but very safe and has plenty of shops , restaurants and theatres all very close.
The apartment is well equipped with double special windows to protect from the outside noises.
The apartment is located two blocks from one of the best italian restaurant in Florence, and many other good restaurants with deep wine cellars
We have other properties in the same area , all very close , we can host up to 8 people in two apts in the same block , see also listings 296168 just behind the corner . .
My name is Donatella , i was born here in Tuscany , i am really enthusiastic about my properties and about this way of traveling , which give you the true taste of your destination.
I speak fluent english and i am always available for my guests by telephone.
My wish is that you enjoy your stay and that you come back again and again to our beautiful Florence.
Donatella landi purchased this apartment in 2009
We have owned properties in this area since 1997, and we feel that this neighborhood has maintained the traditional Florentine tradition and style.
If you want to come to Florence and enjoy a traditional Tuscan vacation, this is one of the best area you can choose in Florence.
you are in the old heart of Florence few steps from S. Croce Church, few steps from Ponte vecchio , few steps from eveywhere , restaurants , bars whatelse...
This cozy spot was recommended to us by friends of ours who have stayed there previously. It was in a prime location in the historic center of Florence and very close to Santa Croce and the river. It is small but charming and has everything that you need. The functional kitchen was great but don't plan to have massive dinner parties.
While in a busy part of the city the solid shutters kept out the noise at night but we both used earplugs in case.
Mariano , the apartment manager was a delight and very helpful. The guide book had very good advice and we followed many recommendations. The restaurant,Osteria De Benci, below the apartment was excellent as was Faglioli just a short distance away. Everything is right at your fingertips with markets and grocery stores just a short distance. We will return someday as we felt that we really got the feel of one of our favorite cities while living in this adorable apartment for ten days
I stayed in this apartment the end of October into November for almost a month. It was a perfect location for me as I love the piazza Santa Croce area. It is so close to my favorite things in Firenze as I have been here before. The public bus is right across the street as well a grocery store about 2 blocks away. It was easy also to walk to all the areas that I wanted to visit and revisit again. The apartment was neat and clean and Mariano ( apartment manager) and Donatella were very helpful with everything I needed. Mariano greeted me and made sure that the internet was working as well as touring me through the apartment to make sure I knew where everything was. There was a folder on the table with all the recommendations for restaurants, shopping and museums that were nearby. I found some new very good restaurants that were very close to the apartment and especially enjoyed the "drunken spagetti" at the Osteria De' Benci which was right below the apartment.
I would definately stay here again when/if I return to Firenze. Thank you Donatella and especially Mariano for making my stay so wonderful
My husband and I stayed in this apartment for ten days over Christmas and New Years, and we were more than pleased. The apartment is exactly as advertised, and working with Donatella and her staff was pleasurable and efficient.
First, the location is excellent, less than a five minute walk from Piazza della Signoria.
The bed was quite comfortable for both my husband and me (and we are picky about mattresses!)
We chose not to eat in the apartment since there are so many excellent restaurants and cafes only steps from the apartment, but one could have done simple meals. This kitchen is only marginal if you plan to cook large meals, but that wasn't a problem for us.
We complicated things by changing our plans and arriving a day earlier than originally booked, but her staff gladly accommodated us. When we arrived the hot water in the apartment was not as hot as I liked, and Donatella sent someone promptly to adjust it.
We were there during some of the coldest weather Florence has had in years, but the apartment stayed warm.
The only item I would add to the apartment would be a small plastic stool to be used in the shower so one could more easily shave legs, but otherwise the apartment was perfect.
NOTE: Restaurants and night spots surrounding the apartment stay open until 3 a.m. Noise was not a problem for us because the apartment has exterior shutters, new double pane windows, interior stained glass shutters, and interior wooden shutters over all of those,. All of these are operable from the inside so shutting noise out was not a problem. However, if you are visiting in summer and want to sleep with open windows the noise is going to be a problem.Bring ear-plugs and you will be fine!
This is a nice, well maintained, smallish apartment. It's a great location for sight-seeing as everything is very close. I agree with a previous reviewer that the carbonara in the adjacent restaurant was the best we had in Italy. The owner was very accommodating when we discovered we underbooked by one night. She put us up at one of her other apartments for the same price, which clearly was more expensive. A little noisey at night, but overall, a very positive experience.
We had our honeymoon in Italy, and stayed in Florence for the first 2 nights. This apartment was in a wonderful location, super close to food and shopping. Very modern and clean apartment, with air conditioning that was at first too cold. I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone traveling to Florence.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was a great apartment with a lot of charm and all the conveniences one would need for a short stay, clean and well-maintained. Donatella was very nice and accommodating with our schedule, and there's a booklet with very helpful suggestions for restaurants and eateries. We had a wonderful stay there, even making a meal one night with the fresh ingredients we bought from the market. It so perfectly located near everything; we'd totally recommend this place to a friend or relative.
