Guestbook comments from the owner
Roger, First of all, could you send us the mailing address for the crew at “Casa Pena Del Mar”? We want to send them a note. Thanks.
How can I say it adequately? Our joy and satisfaction with our second visit exceeded that of our first, if that is possible. During the past two years, Elena has graduated with honors from the School of Maria. She is a wonderful and knowledgeable force with a tremendous sense of responsibility.
I particularly give her credit for preparing the hand-over. From a distance, we saw her mapping out her plans days early. The day before, as we left the house to go about our business in town, her team swooped in and did much of the preparatory work. She gently asked if, Friday morning, they could make the beds early in the day, but of course, only if that was convenient for us. We took the opportunity to have lunch at the club. (Love the club!) When our final group departed at 2 pm, it literally was time for the next group to arrive. The house was immaculate and the fringe on every carpet was combed and ready.
And then, there was Sondra! Carmen was good, but Sondra was great. What a treasure. On our third visit to PV, between Sondra’s cooking and the club, there was little reason to dine in town, except for our two dinners at El Arrayán.
The house, of course, looks great. We particularly noticed the orchids, which were a nice addition. I must say, the floor plan for your neighbor’s new house baffles us a bit, but à chacun son goût.
We declared this the year of the whale. At the request of one of our sons, my wife and I took the opportunity to read Moby Dick, shamelessly overdue for both of us. Literally at the moment I first read “Thar she blows!”, one of your own whales appeared breaching just offshore. We had another visit later in the week, this time from a family group. (If you paid the whales to do this for us, it was money well spent!) Thank you, too for the boat. We headed to the south shore this time, so no whales there. The dinghy was a major convenience.
Thanks from our family to both of you, once again, for sharing with us your beautiful home and your exceptionally warm staff. Please put us at the top of your reference list.
Best wishes for a happy new year.
