You can rent 2 or 3 bedrooms in this fabulous home. Rate is $95/night for 2 bedrooms, $125/night for 3 bedrooms. It's furnished beautifully and comfortably (to rigorous rental program specifications, i.e. v-e-r-y comfortable beds!) with quality workmanship throughout. Fabulous water and mountain views from the second floor patio and 3rd floor viewing tower. It's bigger in size than most homes, just steps to the water and hotel. Long-term and snow bird renters welcome.
Located near the historical town of Loreto in Baja California Sur, Mexico, Loreto Bay homes offer beauty, relaxation, social and sports activities. The home itself is very spacious and comfortable and decorated in a casual elegant style while incorporating much Mexican artistic detail. We can provide many additional photos by e-mail.
The development and home are very modern in conveniences yet you feel you have stepped back in time a bit. You will enjoy the many walking streets (no cars allowed beyond the main street), sport and social activities and beautiful scenery you see everywhere around you.
I live in San Diego CA and own a vacation home in Loreto Bay, Baja CA Sur Mexico. My background is teaching. Currently I am a realtor in San Diego County. I am a businesswoman and am very organized. I was born in 1949. I speak Spanish fluently.
Martha Larkin purchased this house in 2007
Loreto Bay is breathtakingly beautiful. The mountains come down to the Sea of Cortez. The development itself has the goal of being ecologically self-sustaining. The homes are architecturally very appealing--my home has a large upstairs patio plus a third floor viewing tower--you can see and enjoy the Sea of Cortez and the mountains from both. There are many sport and social activities available. The town of Loreto is charming.
One can enjoy golf, boating, biking, hiking, snorkeling/diving, riding, tennis, kayaking, shelling, windsurfing, wildlife viewing, hunting, sailing, swimming, fitness center/gym, all arranged at the development. In the town of Loreto there are wonderful restaurants, shopping, night life, and many charming historical sites.
This villa in Loreto offered the perfect escape for my (harried, exhausted) family this past Christmas. Waking up to the sounds of gentle waves along the Sea of Cortez, sitting on the expansive upper decks with our morning coffee and a good book, preparing our holiday dinner in the extremely well-equipped kitchen, enjoying quality time in the cozy living room... it was perfect. The house is just a step away from the sea, where we took walks from dawn to dusk. Local activities include golf (my husband enjoyed the 'rugged' course, and I enjoyed sitting on the cart watching the scenery), kayaking (and getting a glimpse at some amazing avian and marine life), fishing, snorkeling, lounging by one of the many pools (and even getting some exercise in the great lap pool in the community), and trips into town for great deals on unique and beautiful pottery. Martha's villa is in one of the very best locations in the entire community with plenty of space - and plenty of bathrooms too! The beds are extremely comfortable I might add. We will definitely be returning again over the years. It was one of the best holidays we've ever had - in great thanks to this amazing gem of a villa.
This home was maintained in excellent condition. Upon arrival the home was found very clean and ready for use. All amenities such as lap pool, closeness to beach, golf course, tennis courts and retail and restaurant shops were all in walking distance - some a bit longer than others, and may not be for everyone. Taxi service is available if trips into the town of Loreto were desirable. The unit is situated in a quiet area, and the tower view of the mountains, hills, neighboring homes, and Sea of Cortez were not blocked from view. A relaxing experience, enjoying a slower pace (or not) all to the likening of each individual. Shop owners were graciously welcoming your visit, and readily made you feel as though you have been there forever. This home had two separate levels with the tower view located on the higher roof. Amenities for extracurricular activities were on the beach or nearby at the hotel both close to the home. Home was decorated with Spanish décor and well furnished. Each bedroom had access to a separate bath and the center court with its water fountain provided a soothing sound as one relaxed in the living room. I look forward to my return to get to all the amenities I missed the first time there.
This lovely vacation home is well equipped and very comfortable. The view of sea and mountains was especially grand. I loved taking my coffee up to the viewing deck in the morning or evening to enjoy. I also am glad we rented a car while we were there as the town of Loreto is delightful -- good restaurants, shopping, and, while I was there, a film festival. If beaches and swimming are what you are looking for, you will not need a car. You will have access to three swimming pools, a family pool and a lap pool as well as swimming and snorkeling off the beach just steps away. I am planning a longer stay next year.
Martha's villa in Loreto bay is a luxurious dream. The indoor outdoor feel with the ocean view decks and paios is beautiful. The well landscaped grounds and pools in the complex are a delight to wander through while admiring the colorful plants. The beach is steps away with available water toys. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. You could just stay In the complex and enjoy. But many adventures are also available. Local entertainment and shopping in the little town of Loreto is about 3 miles away. Whale watching can be arranged. The oldest mission in the California's is a lovely drive. Tennis golf, hiking and biking are also available. And don't forget the personal chef. Just called Maisol to make arrangements.
7 days is hardly enough.
Having only been to Loreto via a cruise about 20 years ago, I went off a wing & a prayer that Martha's Villa would be all as described... she did not disappoint! I booked this trip as a Christmas gift getaway for myself, my husband, two adult children and their significant others. The villa is absolutely gorgeous and worked great for 3 couples. It was clean and easily accessible to everything we wanted; beach, pools, GOLF mainly, what a bargain! Martha gave great instructions and the directions to the villa were spot on! Just do what they say and you'll have no trouble. If you are worried about safety, Founders Bay has a 24 hour security presence that make you feel secure and welcome.
Also, Brian & Marisol, the property managers are ABSOLUTELY the best! Friendly and kind as can be! Very helpful if you need anything while staying in the villa and eager to help with anything. Gracious people!
We hated to leave our new friends at the General Store, Golf Restaurant and El Corazon Cafe! We rented kayaks and bikes at the Loreto Bay Resort and had massages too! We went into town 3 times as we had a car, but I do not think a car is really necessary, but to haul 3 guys and their golf bags, it worked well for us. About the golf: great course, unbelievable rates, nicest people, and they let us leave the clubs their for the week. Town has great history, restaurants, shopping and is fun to wander around.
If you are a couple or two, have adult children or want a relaxing retreat vacation with the ability to do things if you want, this is the place to go! If you are young and want the bar scene of a Cabo, or a large bustling city, Loreto is not for you.
Two other great restaurants are the Wine Cellar in Founders Bay and Sabor just past the airport! Someone on the plane told us about Sabor and we're just sorry we didn't visit earlier in our trip, but went for our last night's dinner - Wonderful food & Welcoming Hosts!
We are already planning our trip back! Hasta Luego!
We were a group of 5 ladies traveling to Loreto for the first time, we were a little nervous because we drove from L.A. but after 17 hours driving we were very tire and finally when we got to this AMAZING HOME we were very Impressed, Beautiful Villa and sooo Big, We had everything we need to cook and to be conformable, The owner is very organized and she gave me all the instructions and all the details about the place. Loreto is really a Magic Town, Founders Neighborhood is a Paradise we were so relaxing, We really enjoyed it, every body was so nice, the views from the terraces are stunning, We went to Isla Cornado, we saw Dolphins, Sealions, Stingrays, and the water is so clear that you can see everything from the Panga. We were in Love with this place, we will come back for sure!
