With approximately 540 square feet, it has been carefully remodeled to include modern amenities while retaining its period architectural features including parquet floors, high ceilings, wainscoting, and classic wood moldings. The elegant living room with comfortable sofa bed overlooks a well-lit interior courtyard. Large windows throughout create a bright, open atmosphere. The modern kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator-freezer, a four-burner electric stove with conventional oven, microwave, dishwasher, and white cabinets accented with natural wood. It contains all one needs to prepare and serve excellent meals.
Bedroom and Bathroom descriptions: With bright blue tiles, the cheerful bathroom has a tub with a wall-hung shower, double sink, and quality lighting.
Painted a sunny yellow, the spacious bedroom has a new comfortable queen bed, lovely period furniture, and lots of closet space.
Amenities include TV with cable and home cinema, High Speed Internet access, washer and dryer, central heating, telephone, and quality linens.
Nearby attractions: 'Rue de Solferino' is within easy reach of most of Paris’s desirable sites and museums. The Musee d’Orsay, within two blocks, is housed in a beautifully remodeled period railroad station. It features an excellent art collection with works dating from 1848 to 1914, including a superb selection of Impressionist art and Art Nouveau furniture. The bustling Blvd. St. Germain is half a block away, the Seine one block. Along the Blvd. are many shops and cafes, including Cafe de Flore, with its classic Art Deco interior. One can easily reach Le Jardin des Tuileries and Le Louvre by crossing the Pont de Solférino to the right bank .
We LOVED our stay in the Rue de Solferino apartment!! It was EXACTLY what we had hoped for. We loved the apartment itself and loved our experience as "locals" in the city. It's a wonderful neighborhood and location for visitors, with the Metro and RER so close. And we just adored being so close to the Seine. The convenient location made it possible for us to do almost everything we had planned for our trip. And we can't praise Claudette and Marie-Noel enough. They provided the best level of service and hospitality available. Thank you both - so very much. We would love to return to Paris and "our" apartment there; we're hoping that airfares become more reasonable so that we can do so in the not-too-distant future. There were just three small things that need attention: (1) one of the two fluorescent lights in the bathroom was burned out when we arrived, and there were no spare bulbs, (2) the plug to the hair dryer is incompatible with the electrical outlet in the bathroom, so that the only place that it can be used is in the kitchen, and (3) the hand-held shower head will not stay in its "bracket;" we found that it would fall out into the bathtub on its own, even when there was no water running in the shower. These small things in no way affected the quality of our visit - I just thought that I should mention them. Thank you again - for everything. And we will be posting a very positive report on the TripAdvisor forum for Paris. Although we're a little tempted to keep your company "our little secret," we want everyone to know about you and to contact you before they make other arrangements for their trips to France.
