TRANQUIL WATERFRONT HOUSE NEAR ROCKLAND/CAMDEN-JUNE SALE!

South Thomaston House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8)

This is an immaculate and comfortable house with unobstructed views of the water from most rooms and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy, Hayden Point is a relaxing retreat. On a quiet dead-end road, the house overlooks a salt waterway leading to the Atlantic.

Hayden Point owns 100 feet of saltwater frontage making east access to the river for fishing, kayaking or canoeing via steps leading down to a small floating dock. There is also a boat launch open for public use about one half mile from the Hayden Point House.

The kitchen contains everything you need to cook a gourmet meal, but you also can get some of the best lobster in Maine 5 minutes away, and you are only five miles from downtown Rockland, which has several outstanding restaurants, as well as a fine art museum, galleries and shops. Camden is a short distance as well.

This craftsman style home built in 2004 has 2.5 baths and sleeps 8 adults in three bedrooms (children are welcome, too!). A private master suite with water views has a king-size bed and sitting area, a large bathroom with a garden tub and custom walk in shower, and two vanities (one within the bathroom and one in the hallway to the bath). A second bedroom on the ground floor has a queen-sized bed and small sitting area, and a nearby half bath. Upstairs there is a second full bath off a very large bedroom with a big sitting area, games table and 180 degree spectacular water views. The king-sized bed in this room can be separated into two extra-long twin beds and there also is a queen sleeper sofa. A portable crib is provided as well. The house has a great deal of closet space and drawers for storage. All linens are provided and are 100% cotton. A washer and dryer on the main level provided as well.

The first floor is the main living space with an open dining room, which seats 6-8 people, and living room overlooking the lawn and the water beyond. The kitchen is fully-equipped with solid-surface counter tops, cherry cabinetry, an electric oven, gas cook-top, dishwasher, trash-compactor, microwave, double-door refrigerator and dishwasher and a walk-in pantry. The kitchen has a breakfast nook and double French doors leading to the wraparound deck. The deck has a table, plenty of seating and a large Weber gas grill.

The living room and den area is outfitted with comfortable and stylish furnishings, a flat-screen television, cable, a DVD player, stereo and Internet access. Large windows overlook the deck and the expansive lawn and waterfront. Novels, local guide books and maps are also included.

Hayden Point has 100 feet of saltwater frontage making access to the river for fishing, swimming, kayaking or canoeing easy from the front yard and steps leading down to a small floating dock. There is also a boat launch open for public use about one half mile from the Hayden Point House.

South Thomaston is located just five miles from downtown Rockland, 15 miles from Camden/Rockport and five miles from the St. George Peninsula and the villages of Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. Hayden Point is less than 10 minutes from Primo, one of the best restaurants in New England.

Dogs are allowed with owner permission and additional pet fee.

Mid-coast Maine is special due to the lovely people and beautiful setting. Hayden Point is quiet and away from it all, but only a 10 minute drive from Rockland, which has an abundance of shops, restaurants, galleries and lots to do. We have been going to Maine for more than 20 years and this is our favorite area by far.

We have rented many houses in many locations on the east coast and this was one of our absolute favorites. The house is very well-kept, clean and was the best equipped house we have ever rented. The kitchen is fully stocked with every appliance, plentiful dishes and silverware, pots, pans, spices, wraps, bags, etc. Made our resident chef very happy! The towles and sheets were plenitful and high quality. A large gas grill, nice deck and yard, our own dock. It was awesome. The locaiton was beautiful and neighborhood quiet. We took in the Lobster Fest in Rockland, several galleries and shops, a couple of days around Camden - beautiful - and a day trip to Acadia (also beautiful but very crowded). We had good meals at The Pearl and also at Archer's on the Pier (despite mixed reviews, guess we got lucky?). We even took in a blueberry pancake breakfast served at the local church every Friday morning - highly recommended!! The owner is a delight to work with and very responsive to any questions and quick to make recommendations for outings or restaurants if asked . All in all, a 5 star experinece!

Stylish, comfortable, picturesque central location

My two sisters and I used this location for a week's vacation. The house was comfortable and well-appointed, with a wonderful view of evening sunsets. The artwork and furnishings were above our expectations. Although there are houses on either side, we felt we were in our own little world...it was quiet and peaceful. We would have liked to spend more time outside, but the mosquitoes this year were ferocious! The location was centrally located for all the places we wanted to visit. Highlights of our stay were Farnsworth Museum, Olson House, Botanical Gardens, Rockland, Camden, Belfast, Birch Point Beach, Marshall Point and Owl Head lighthouses. Rockland was a great location for galleries, shops, and food: In Good Company was a favorite, as was Home Kitchen Café. We also enjoyed Rustica, The Brass Compass, Waterman's, the Slip Away (latter two in Thomaston, I think). All in all a wonderful vacation!

Maine Waterfront Perfection

Hayden Point House was everything we expected it to be, and much more!
The house itself is gorgeous, and everything we could possibly have needed was there for us. The décor, the quiet neighborhood, the layout of the house and all the amenities, including appliances, books, games and food in the pantry were all amazing!
The waterfront location afforded us the ability to jump in our kayaks (which we kept on the floating dock) whenever we wanted, the big yard was perfect for children's games and the sunsets every evening were just beautiful over the water!
When we had a minor issue with the freezer, the owners couldn't have been more helpful and couldn't have come to our rescue any faster than they did, to solve the problem and help us keep things cold until the issue resolved itself.
Hayden Point House was the best vacation ever for us and our family. Thank you to Don and Kay Etheridge!

Whale of a time

This was a repeat visit to the relaxing vacation home. Each year it gets prettier and prettier. This year we were greeted by whimsical whales on the walls that were handmade from "The Island Institute" in Rockland. We visited the Owls Head Transportation Museum. What a wonderful find! As usual, a puffin cruise was a highlight of the trip. Last but not least, Tuesday morning we got a free appraisal from one of the auctioneers from "Antique Roadshow". There's nothing like a meal on the deck with good friends at this spacious retreat. The beautiful art and colors that this home has gives the feeling of your own private gallery around you.
I would highly recommend this home for families, because of the separate quarters upstairs as well as privacy downstairs. This year we broke in the "I love Lucy" game found upstairs in the game dept.
This is also an excellent choice for a person w/ disabilities. there is plenty of room to get around w/ a wheelchair and you can see the water from the deck. The yard is relatively flat too.
Poochies? The neighbors wave and children enjoy visiting while you take your pet for a walk in this quiet neighborhood.
As always, nothing beats a take out lobster dinner from the "Keag" just 3 minutes across the water.
It is my hope that you have a "whale of a time" at this wonderful home.

Hayden Point was a wonderful vacation home for our family. We felt very at home. The house offered everything you could possibly want or need. The view is amazing.....looking out onto the bay is breathtaking. There is so much to do and see within just a few miles. Our family consisted of my daughter who is 7, my mother in law who is 88, my husband and myself, and we all loved it. I can not say enough about Kay, the home owner, she goes out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect! If you choose Hayden Point as your home away from home, you will not be disappointed!
