Lizzy's Landing is named after our dog Lizzy who finally gets to go along on vacation trips with her family. Lizzy's Landing is owned by Patricia and managed by Robyn. We both live in Raleigh but prefer to spend time at this beautiful vacation rental.
Robyn purchased this house in 2009
Our friend and retired fishing guide Tim Penhollow grew up in this area and brought Robyn down here to fish many times in 2008-2009. We ALWAYS go home with a cooler of fish. This location on Pungo Creek cannot be beat. It is private but accessible. No matter what the weather you can get out on the creek and fish. If the weather is calm turn left and venture towards the Pungo River and Pamlico Sound or take a trip to Belhaven by water. If it's a little windy turn right and explore up the creek where it is more protected. Salt water game fish to be caught include striped bass, sea trout, flounder, puppy drum, black drum and more. Fresh water fish include largemouth bass and perch. Hunting, especially duck hunting, is fantastic. Duck hunter's will have easy access to the upper Pantego river and many other hunting sites.
Sit out on the rockers on the front porch and take in the sweeping view of acres of farmland. Sit out on the back deck that overlooks the 200 foot canal. No neighbors on either side lends for a very private location. Use our crab pots or eel pots right off of our bulkhead to catch crab, flounder, and eel. Also menhaiden bait for fishing can be netted most days in our canal. At the end of the day you can use our fish cutting station to filet your catch for dinner. Also enjoy the Pond. Kayaking, sailing, and jet skis would also be great from our canal which draws over 4 feet of water. Water access for boat trailers is via CEE BEE Marina on Highway 99. New in 2012 the Fossil Dig. New in 2014 onsite boat ramp.

We had a great time. The house is wonderful, and the water was beautiful
to kayak. It was the most convenient boat launch we've ever had! Never got
even a toe wet. Which was good because it was chilly that weekend. Denise
caught (and released) a few fish, so she was happy. Thanks so much. I hope we can get back again.
We were visiting relatives and just didn't want to stay in a hotel that close to the water. They've put a lot of thought into making this place enjoyable. Not yet mentioned in other reviews: There are cupboards full of such things as salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, coffee, tea, etc. Like others before us, we replaced what little we ran out of and left behind what we couldn't use. Nice DVD collection and a good assortment of brochures and books and such on local attractions. We've already recommended this place to relatives, and there's a good chance we'll stay here again.
I was looking for a place to stay with my immediate family while we visited relatives who live in the area. This looked like just the type of place for a long, peaceful weekend and it turned out to be exactly as advertised. While we had neither a boat nor fishing gear this time, we might bring one or both next time. Even so, we enjoyed being near the water. The location is convenient to Belhaven, but with the peacefulness of the country. The house itself is spacious, clean, and well laid out for a family. The full kitchen is a money saver if you use it rather than eat out. Overall, it was a great experience. The highlight was when, sitting on the back porch by the lovely pond one morning, we saw a young osprey take its first flight. Highly recommended.
Just returned home from a long weekend at Lizzy's Landing. The location was perfect and so quiet. We all loved having the canal wrap around the back of the property. Saw some beautiful birds and caught a couple blue crabs (let them go of course) right behind the house and talked to the Emus at the farm across the street. Really enjoyed the kitchen. The whole house is nicer and more spacious than depicted in the photos. Numerous board games were also a nice touch. We read everything on the "info table" and appreciated having info on the surrounding area so readily available. Visited Greenville, Washington, Belhaven and Bath and all were easy drives (except for the frogs which kind of freaked us out on the road at night a bit!) Enjoyed Backwater Jacks in Washington and Blackbeards Slices in Bath - both great food and by the water. The home owners were very easy to work with. My whole family agreed that we would absolutely stay at Lizzy's Landing again! Thanks for providing such a wonderful, relaxing place!
My family has stayed here twice in the past year and both visits were great. The house is very spacious and is great for spending time together. The kitchen is very large and is useful for having meals at the house. The setting of the house, right on the water, is very peaceful. I would definitely recommend this house for a relaxing vacation with family or friends.
Recently added a boat ramp onsite for boats up to 21 feet. We can help you arrange fishing boat, kayak, or canoe rentals delivered to our property for your convenience. We can refer you to excellent fishing and hunting guides in our area.
