Comfortable cabin in a spectacular location!

My two sisters and I plus two dogs stayed here for two nights and three days. The interior of the cabin was larger than the photos reveal, and it was cozy, clean, and comfortable. Even being inside the cabin, with windows on three sides and views out to the water and islands, you have the feeling you are outside. The cabin is very private, but not isolated. There are neighbors nearby and there is a little enclave of houses a short walk down the beach. From the outside, it looks very small, but it was spacious enough for the three of us plus our two dogs. The double bed is very comfortable, the pull-out futon is very firm. You can lie in either one and watch the water and the boats pass by. Our dogs loved running on the lawn and down to the beach, swimming and chasing balls. Our host, Rich, was very gracious and pleasant. All linens were supplied. The composting toilet has zero odor, none whatsoever. The outside shower at the hosts' house is pleasant and only a few minutes walk. If you can get used to having no running water, there is no other special accommodation you need to make to stay here. The cabin could use a few more plates and glasses as it really seems to be set up for two, and a dish rack would help making clean up easier. The hot water dispenser wasn't working. These very minor suggestions are easily remedied and I'll bet our hosts will take care of them before their next guests arrive. We used the canoe to paddle out to the nearby island and did a little exploring there, and took turns paddling a single kayak as well. There are good restaurants in nearby Rockland, as well as museums and interesting shopping. We will look forward to returning sometime in the near future. Thank you Rich and Audrey for a wonderful stay!
