Squam Lake House Rental Photos and Description
4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, bonus room, large childrens room, sleeps 12
The 4+-bedroom house, fully insulated and heated for year-round usage, was designed by local architect Bill Mead. It has 1800 inside square feet, plus two porches, one a 12x18 screened porch, and two garages. It comprises a Master Bedroom with queen-size bed and full bath and walk-in closet, a Guest Room with twin beds, a Small Bedroom with queen bed, a Big Room with a four twin beds (perfect for kids), a Study/Bonus Room with a sleep sofa; as well as a Living Room with fireplace, Kitchen, Dining Area, and Screened Porch. The house can accommodate 10 adults or 8 adults and several children.
The beach, at 250 feet, is arguably the largest on Squam Lake. Located facing Great and Bowman Islands, just outside Great Island Narrows, it is both private and easily accessible to the entire lake. The beach is about 200 feet from the back porch, mostly across a board walkway.
The house was built in the 1970s and has not been updated, so don’t expect granite counters, modern appliances or brightly finished hard woods. Besides the master bath, there is a bathroom upstairs, quite small though with a tub/shower combo; and a half bath on the first floor under the stairs. Carpeting, paint, furniture, and kitchen appliances are relatively old, but functional.
