Newly renovated, elegantly decorated, peaceful country homestead will get you away from it all. Once home to the underground railroad. Evenings unwind, relax & enjoy the magical views of the ponds and creek from your private wooden hot tub and new creek side deck. If you time it right you may even get to see the new fawns playing in the pasture.

Catch record breaking large bass & other fresh water fish from your own ponds. Nothin' better then grilling them up fresh right outside your back door. Enjoy cooking in your own country kitchen. Kick back on your back deck with your private creek cascading past & a 50 acre view.

Our babbling brook will lull you to sleep every night from your specious bedroom. Sip your morning coffee in bed watching the wildlife on the pond right outside your bedroom window. Kitchen provides another pond view with 50 acres of fields for a backdrop. Freshen up in your 2 person steam shower. Or relax and soak in our antique tub.

Kitchen & Dining Room: Six rooms all on one floor. Outdoor kennel and private field for training bird dogs.

Our country kitchen comes fully stocked with some of the best cookware and china available. Besides enjoying cooking in your unique farm style kitchen you get to serve it up in elegant style.

Crave even more elegance? You can enjoy your gastronomical delight in your antique formal dining room by candle light.

Living Room: Slip outside your front door and take a gander at your living room window. It will bring back nostalgic memories of the Christmas Movie's famous full size leg lamp. Probably the first time in your life that you will get to see it up close and personal, lit up at night from the outside. (Yes, I'd like to break it too.)

A spacious living room provides piano players an opportunity to bang out some tunes on our collectors Steinway Grand Piano. Or simply cuddle up and relax on our oversize living room furniture while you settle in and watch a great movie from your own video library.

Bedroom: Enjoy a babbling brook which will lull you to sleep every night. Our beautiful New Magnolia Bedroom set provides you with a romantic Queen Bed with a heavenly new mattress for the best night sleep imaginable. Wake up and sip your morning coffee in bed watching the wildlife on the pond right outside your bedroom window.

Nightstands are both equipped with reading lamps, in case you both would like to do a little reading before the romantic starts.

A beautifully restored desk in the corner converts to a wonderful make-up table with a mirror. The big plus is a large walk in closet with built in luggage bench. Of course ample hangers, ironing boar, iron etc.

Provided are the Finest linens, towels and down comforters along with Comfy robes.

Other Activities: Gambling & racetrack close. Also the Wilkes-Barre Sports Arena.

Francis Slocum State Park is about 4 miles & Rickets Glen about 28. Both are excellent for hiking and swimming. Also Hickory Run State Park and Boulder Field are great for outdoor hiking and swimming.

Golf: Two public golf courses are about 4 miles away in opposite directions.

Ski: Montage in Scranton about 15 miles and Elk Mountain approximately 38 miles.

Great Getaway!

This home is absolutely beautiful -- impeccably clean, comfortably furnished, and accurately represented. The owners were very generous, welcoming, and easy to work with. We arrived for a short weekend away from it all and left feeling as though we had made new friends. We are definitely looking forward to visiting them again soon!

I spent a comfortable evening in this lovely cottage. The home was tastefully decorated and immaculate, and I can highly recommend the mattress and pillows for a good night's sleep.

The owners were welcoming and gracious, and seemed genuinely concerned about my welfare.

Twin Ponds getaway

Loved this place so much that we decided to come back a second time, this time for our honeymoon! If you are looking for a beautiful, whimsical, get-away-from-it-all kind of place, this is it! From the beautifully decorated, spotless house, to the sprawling grounds, this is the place to kick back and relax. I enjoyed sitting out on the back deck at night, listeining to the bullfrogs and crickets sing, and watching the fireflies light up the fields. My husband enjoyed fishing in the three ponds on the property, which yielded some sort of fish each time he cast! The owners are such warm and inviting people, and we enjoyed seeing them again as much as we enjoyed staying there. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation. We will surely be returning for a third time!

Tranquil Haven - Beautiful Escape

My husband and I needed to escape the city. We found our way to Twin Ponds and escape we did...
Imagine a historic and beautifully restored cabin against the backdrop of a picture perfect country setting then add in generous amenities...this and more turned our two-day respite into the perfect getaway. Anything you might want is at your finger tips here...a perfectly dreamy and comfortable bed, a soaking tub, a multi-jet steam shower, a fully equipped country kitchen, a fabulous grill, reclining sun chairs that are the most comfortable things in the world to fall asleep in while reading, a comfy sectional sofa for good cuddling and magical surroundings bursting with life...the proverbial babbling brook right out side the window and three fabulous fishing ponds with views of the surrounding country side...really? For a delightful and transformative get away what more do you need? Perhaps only a pair of binoculars for better hawk and heron and beaver viewing! Here's to you! Enjoy your stay!
