With its quaint slopeside village and just enough trails to keep it interesting, Stratton Mountain Resort is my favorite place to ski on the East Coast. Not too big, not too small, just right! And now, I've found the perfect place to stay too! This is one unit that comes exactly as advertised!
I first stayed here with my friend and my college age daughter and her 3 friends two years ago and then again, last winter. Truly spacious with comfortable furnishings and a perfect layout, the Unit easily accommodated the six of us. Always clean, updated throughout, we couldn't ask for anything more!
Some of my favorites: the crackling fireplace in the evening, the views from the windows, the perfect ski-in, ski-out location! Especially love this in the afternoon when we would typically head back to the Unit for a bite to eat and then ski/snowboard right out again to enjoy the slopes for the rest of the afternoon!
The location is within easy walking distance to the Village. Typically, we would walk over in the morning (or ski right out), but in the evening we would drive our car over (cold!). In the Village itself, there are a number of excellent dining options, shops for browsing, music in the evening. Other evenings, we would just stay in, cook a good meal, watch a movie, play some games -- perfect bonding experience with your college age (or any age) kids! We love this place!
One last item to mention: the owners have always been a pleasure to deal with! They leave detailed instructions on everything in the Unit, with information on the surroundings. They are extremely responsive, always responding quickly to any inquiries. They do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your stay in their unit.
One warning: once you stay here, it will be difficult to stay anywhere else. It truly does become your "home away"!
